  • And when the angels want to play for tips, they play Van Halen.

  • They are so beautiful! I like the having-fun atmosphere. "We-re playing Bach, bitches!!"...

  • this is my favorite out of all of the brandenburg concertos!

  • 1:34 "I'm playing Bach bitches"

  • @Deexxtro hell yeah!!! lol

  • how can you not like this?

  • I absolutely live this music, but when people start bringing religion into it, I just say fuck it

  • @pijlenboog23 Brilliant thing to say while listening a song created mostly in the spirit of religious devotion. I wonder what Bach would think of your comment...

  • I have fallen in love with this ensemble!!! Love their interpretation of Bach's Brandenburgs. I cannot seem to find the name of the recorder player. Anyone?

  • Ahh..to sit on ones bachporch and listen...

  • I guess 19 people wont be Bach.

  • @italbello6t9 I don't know what to say to such punny brilliance.

  • This is the most catching tune of Bach

  • The video quality is pretty bad. Here's a better version that's in sync.

    watch?v=Y1-Apl0Zi2Q

  • at 2:59 is the creation of the first rock 'n roll guitar solo - 300 years before the creation of rock 'n roll :-)

  • Chick at 3:25 tottally wants 3:57's dick.

  • the 4th violinist at the end looks like my math teacher! lol

  • YYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA YYYYYAAAAAAAAAA YES YES YES!

  • the quality sux

  • Thank you so much for this. You've made my day!!

  • hiya ich bin blond

  • simply perfect for study days

  • Wenn das nicht himmlische Musik ist ! Wunderbar.

  • I dont know...kind of sounds like putii pulling taffy after popping popcorn

  • The recorder-player reminds me of the bride of Frankenstein, however this one is way more sexier with the seethrough sleeves.

  • 19 people made a mistake by accident- they were looking for "download" :-)

  • THIS is what it means "...in His image and likeness..." and "...look, Man has become LIKE one of Us."

  • Because God has no idea how to do this...

  • Simplemente una belleza, esta musica es lo mejor del mundo. Bach y Paganini los mejores. Si estuvieran vivos patearian unos cuantos traseros.

  • And when the angels play to torment the devil and his hosts, they put on Justin Bieber.

  • @nabetz ahhhhhh!!!!

  • @nabetz I think that the angels would need to wear earplugs so they don't torment themselves.

  • @nabetz Do not even bring him into the comment list!!!

  • nice acoustics (:

  • 18 pessoas são tristes por falta de amor e por levar uma vida de cortar os pulsos.

  • There are a few reasons to dislike this YouTube posting, not necessarily the work of music, to understand the (now) 18 dislikes. First, the scratchy sound quality. Second, they play too fast. I'm not talking about what the tempo "should" be, but what they perform well. Sure, the virtuoso violinist zipping through his solo passages is impressive, but this ensemble doesn't have the cohesiveness and crispness of tone and rhythm to be able to make the concerto sound good at such a speed.

  • I wanna go wherever Bach goes after I die

  • @MrSalimMilas Into the ground?

  • Comment removed

  • Saints row 2 ? :D

  • i've been trying to find the name of this piece for weeks now and im so happy i finally found it. it is very beautiful

  • 18 deaf people disagree

  • why does everybody look so mad and/or stoic :o

  • @musichas a soul - your brain is obviously not developed enough to appreciate the layers of melody - go back to childrens music.

  • What a great orchestra.

  • I hate how the sound is off slightly...

  • voll_geíl_lÈÛté_sùcht_mAl_ÑAch:_olikohle_aüf_gôòglë_voll_gÊÌl

  • Just Beautiful!

  • Germans need no conductor. They move autonomously to the HIVE MIND

  • Is it just my computer, or is the sound slightly out os sync with the video?

  • @cello19661: " is the sound slightly out os sync with the video? "

    It is.

    So what?

  • When the angels play to each other, they play Mozart. When they play to God, they play Bach.

  • @cello19661, I would say when the angels play to God, they play either Bach or Palestrina, and when they play to each other they play Mozart or Chopin.

  • @cello19661, you know, there are composers of different ethnicities than German who are as good as Bach and Mozart. Why the classical music sophisticates have arrogantly decided that there are not is beyond me. We need to stop believing God gave only the Germans the ability to be great composers. Wouldn't it rather make more sense that He gave talent to all ethnicities equally?

  • @cello19661 But when angels want to play for themselves, they play Beethoven LOL

  • @Violitst90 Nah... they play Chopin ;)

  • @Violitst90 When they play to humans, they play Vivaldi. =P

  • @cello19661

And on the most special occasions, they play Duke Ellington.

  • @cello19661 But when god plays, he plays Mahler.

  • @cello19661 Then the angels take a day off and play Prokofiev lol

  • esta musica me inunda el alma ,y esta grabada en mi memoria de infancia, cuando mi papi despues del trabajo se sentabaen si silla de playa en el atardecer con sus binoculares para ver las estrallas..

  • Yes indeed there is other wonderful music by Beethoven Mozart, and Handle but classical the only type of music where the music was composed for the people or for the future not just for money.

  • @sobattleee Actually, it was all about money. Composers of that era had to rely on the patronage of rich officials, and were considered just another member of the staff. There were very few oppourtunities outside of that environment, and it wasn't really till Beethoven that composers were able to free themselves from obligations to a patron.

  • is it just me or the guy in the thumbnail looks like rick astley?

  • @rafa3944 Bach's never gonna give you up.

  • I don't think it is necessary to put down other music in order to put up Bach's music. Bach's music is wonderful as are many other kinds of music as well.

  • i'm happy to see the whole ensemble playing without shoulder rest, chin rest, with a good (baroque) bow technique! sadly it is very common to see some baroque orchestras or ensembles playing a baroque instrument using chin rest and shoulder rest. these are people completely devoted to baroque world!

  • 15 people are dying in a cesspool of Justin Bieber and Miley Cirus along with rap. It is such a shame people do not like Bach as much as they should

  • @1986zls -- it's because they aren't exposed to it. Not their fault. They don't know about this wonderful music.

  • Absolutely Delicious!!! Vitamins for the mind. 2oo+years and still going strong. I love Bachs precision.

  • HERMOSO,GRACIAS.uN PLACER ESCUCHARLO

  • Just great! without a shadow of vanity or pretension: Every note in the right place, beautiful!

Thank you Freiburg Baroque Orchestra for this really tastefull performance of Bach=)

  • lol the stares at the last second were so random

  • @Zhyhm Their watching the leader (the violinist) for a cue to begin the next section, a technique for chamber music players

  • I love that lead violinist. When he plays, he looks like he's looking into another realm, and disconnected from the physical.

  • Bach had two wives. He also changed his religion many times in his life. He does not sound too different from a modern man, except from the fact he is an excellent composer, and a haircut that only belongs in court.

  • @PhysicalsimForever Bach had two wives, coz the first died and then he married the second. Bach never 'changed his religion many times in his life', if you don't know anything about Bach, so shut the fuck up!

  • @leonsmello From 20 to 24 years old, Bach was budist. After he changed to the protestantism, but not for much time!. :)

  • @PhysicalsimForever You really don't know a shit about my Bach my friend, not surprised you're 19 and from NZ lol

  • let`s had some more to the 714 :)

  • it's hard to believe that a guy as horny as Bach was (him and wifey had 20 kids) that he had anytime at all to compose. He had to have composed some of his music while he was "doing the wild thing" with little wifey. no? what I'd give to have an etching of that. ha ha ha ha

  • i still get goosebumps after hearing beethoven because of clockwork orange and yes im aware this is bach relax

  • i still get goosebumps after hearing beethoven because of clockwork orange

  • LuluHeelim -- Bach is my favourite too - Why? Because his music just flows like a cloud, and weaves in and out, never letting you drop to the ground...!

Every other musician has stops and starts, but Bach never (literally) "lets you down"....!

I also love Mendelsson who Bach learned from and Vivaldi, especially the 4 Seasons...

  • @limehouse2005 Sorry, did you say Bach learned from Mendelssohn? Perhaps I missread it?Mendelssohn led the Bach revival in the 19th century but I'm afraid he was born some 59 years after Bach's death. We owe much to Mendelssohn however for reviving Bach's works. Bach, in his own day, was very unfashionable. His son's were far more famous as composers.

  • i know that beethoven and mozart are genius but i prefer bach..or am i a stupid?

  • @LuluHeeNim Not in the slightest!!! These 3 composers are often considered to be at the top of the heap when it comes to music from the "Western tradition" - Europe and its colonies. But, they are each different and different people will like one or the other better for various reasons. Bach's music has a splendid complexity to it: very intellectually satisfying - yet can also be extremely exciting and joyful, as this wonderful movement (and indeed all the Brandenburgs) illustrates so well.

  • @LuluHeeNim I don't think so. At least not for prefering Bach. I find it difficult to choose between Bach and Beethoven. Both often move me to tears. Mozart never has, although I still admire his genius.

  • @craigalake

When I was a kid, hearing music by Mozart did move me to tears. These days I prefer Bach, but I still like Mozart.

  • This melody makes me feel happy to be alive.

  • They been smoking the good shit. Two thumbs up beautiful music

  • Europa universalis have written Bach all over it :O!

  • This is my Favorite of Brandenburg Concertos

  • Too fast & too enthousist.

As so many of the performances of the Brandenburg concert on YT.

    Please listen to

    ■Allegretto: 108 - 120

    and not ■Allegro: 126 - 138 versions

    Kiss

  • @berge3466 But you may still listen to this great interpretation - why not try using some audio stretching tool ;-) (there's even some freeware).

  • The recorder players are right on the money - having said that, a fantastic performance all round!

  • beautiful, one of my favorites !!

  • The main virtuistic violin solo is a bit drowned out....I reckon there's too many strings.

BUT This is amazing (: I'm studying this for my A Level music course

  • Is it bad that I whenever I hear this piece I can only think of playing 1602 A.D.?

  • @zenos700 "Your people are starving". Awesome game.

  • @leeuum1

"Kay, my people want a school. Wait, what the fuck do you mean I have no tools?!"

  • @zenos700 "Hey, why do I have to build them a tavern? Does the government have to do everything around here?"

  • This guy is a master! 2:58

  • I like videos like these

  • Baroque music would have appeared as incredible to people of the Middle Ages the Renaissance, whose music was far simpler and not as complex, just one or two instruments and developed slowly into polyphonic music. The Baroque era was the first time multiple instruments - violin, cello, trumpet, flue, recorders, harpsichord, etc were being played at the same time! It was futuristic music!

  • Magnifique!!! This is my favorite Brandeburg: it's just SO happy and bubbling over with energy and enthusiasm for life.

  • Bach is my favorite composer, his music is amazing

  • so much energy..... It is overwhelming me!!

  • 14 people have a very sad life.

  • @MusicHasASoul "they look, but they don't really see. They hear, but they don't really listen or understand."

  • @MusicHasASoul I counted 15, and how can one be sad surrounded by such beautiful music?

  • @MusicHasASoul 15 people right now don t know absolutly nothing about music...

  • @MusicHasASoul Make that 15 people

  • @MusicHasASoul The count is now 16. Proof the world is going to hell in a handbag.

  • Nicht ein von Bachs gut Musical arbeitet, aber es ist wunderbares jst die selben.

  • @MusicHasASoul Why do you say that?

  • @MusicHasASoul This is the music of Kings its probably to complicated for you maybe you should go back to the crackhead music.

  • @ruppertknickerbocker what're you talking about? he's referring to the dislikes, or the amount of dislikes when he posted 7 months ago...

  • @MusicHasASoul 18 ;)

  • Since when does Neil Patrick Harris play the violin? lol

  • what kind of piccolo / flutes are those?

  • @Jkaneshige they're recorders.

  • @Sarahqiu ... Thanks. I'll look that up. This is probably my favorite movement of all.

  • @Sarahqiu What are they recording??!!! doom doom chshhhh

  • Comment removed

  • @ilikehairbands lol, idiot, nah jk, i mean the recorder as in the instrument. i thought people knew that... or if you mean the "they're"i meant the instrument as well. what's with the "doom doom chshhhhh"? i don't get it....

  • @Sarahqiu i was just making a cheesy pun and the "doom doom chshhhh" are my onomatopoeia words for the stereotypical drum fill you hear after a joke in stand up comedy.

  • @ilikehairbands yep, definitely cheesy. still don't get your "doom doom chshhhh", thoguh. and don't bother explaining either :P

  • @ilikehairbands Haha. My teacher told me had purchased a Baroque bow. I said, "Did you get it fixed?".

  • @DieF1228 hahaha nice.

  • @Jkaneshige They are called Flauto Dolce or Blockflote.

  • garçom... aqui, nessa mesa de Bach...

  • @daoliveira essa foi muito boa

  • Great perfomance. Brilliant Bach piece.

  • oh Bach you lovely man you

  • 5:00 I love this part!!

  • Perhaps my favorite Brandenburg movement of all!!! It is a nice length, with lots of variety, great instrumentation, and several instruments get splendid chances to shine in turn: what more could one ask?

The recorder players in this fantastic ensemble are particularly good: the recorder is an instrument much overlooked in modern times!!

  • @HolyMotherofGrid everything out of baby bach is the best

  • Beethoven is known to have referred to Bach as the "Urvater der Harmonie" ("Original father of Harmony")

  • H. von Karajan, BWV 1049, 1966 Deutsche Grammophon recording:

    watch?v=ueIHsANOTuk

    thanks and regards

  • and they play nice too

  • it took a long time to downloqad much longer thqan other orchestrations.

  • this is amazing

  • @LMB222, Yes, Umlauts may not be used in German anymore, but Umlauts are what makes German look fük'n awesome!

    Viva ß! Long live ß!

  • Qow this video is so badly synchronized its almost unbearable...

  • @KingFlairBoy I didn't notice until I read your comment. Yes, the audio is about one-half second behind the video. And if your watching carefully, that's enough to be annoying.

I still love listening to this however. It's a fine performance.

  • @Degan1000 And I'm not denying that it's a great performance, or that the maker of this video didn't try to synchronize it, it's just one of those things that occurs just to piss us off.

  • wow

  • where do they get those cute lightbulbs from ?

  • @johnhofi , yeah, did you noticed the door frames too?

  • Bach wasn't human being ...

  • @cataphractus : A mere sinner just like you and me !

  • @cataphractus he was, but he played for the glory of God :)

  • so schoene!!!!

  • theyre like bobbleheads ahaawwhawahawhwahwahww

  • This is one of the best versions i heard of the Brandenburg concertos.

Simply one of the best music pieces ever written .

The best is to buy the dvd..great sond and great playing.

  • can anyone tell me the keys of modulation in this piece ?? it starts with Gmajor and then it modulates to several keys which I'm very confused what they are.

  • @vinybrazil at bar 137 E minor, 209 C major, 323 B minor, 345 back to G major (:

  • @vinybrazil The ritornellos are in various different keys; it starts in G major, then the next is in E minor, the next in C major, the next in B minor and the final one goes back to G major. The solo violin episodes essentially play the part of extensive modulations to get from one key to the next (as well as sounding nice) :)

  • excelente...

  • Yes she blow like angels. They work very well for us. Thanks a lot from Barcelona.

  • @supiluliumas15

Nowadays, some composers use computer to "create" music. This so-called music is nowhere near Bach, and at times is downright dull and uninteresting. Bach's music is certainly according to certain rules, but his genius is to be praised above all.

  • modern thecnology eases a lot the work

  • @1972jewish

If you mean all the work of copying music (the physical part of the work), yes, the computer makes it a lot easier. I myself am very happy to have a music programme do the work I used to do manually.

But some modern composers just feed in their programmes 2 or 3 elements, and their computers make random "creations", and come up with very boring "music" which is more like factory noise. This is what I was writing about.

  • Muy buen dueto y video.

  • I am not trying to be philosophical and not even romantic, but as I looked at these people I realized that they play music that they did not write. I mean this is crazy or more likely amazing. What was Bach thinking when he was creating music. How did he write music that generation after generation after generation are listening to and enjoying. Did he really knew its gonna happen that way or what.

I mean that does not happen everyday. He must've got it somewhere, has he heard it somewhere?

  • @kirillzapple He did have secret mathematical format for many of his music. But most importantly, he worked hard.

  • @RedWasabii Yes, he had to work very hard to produce 1500+ works in his lifetime (some 400 are estimated to be lost, what a tragedy!).

  • more works produced Vivaldi, i think

  • @1972jewish And Telemann. But Vivaldi has been accused of not writing 450 concerti, but 1 concerto in 450 variations.

  • @Nuker1337 : which of course it's nonsense ;-) It is true that Vivaldi often left his "pen do the work", writing passage-work, progressions, etc. which went on for too long. But the majority of his works are incredible in their inventiveness, beauty and originality (Bach recognized that). Personally, I consider Bach and Vivaldi the greatest composers of the Baroque, each for different reasons, technical abilities, importance, originality, beauty, etc..... Greetings!

  • @Nuker1337 actually, it's NOT true. They discovered some new works that had to change that assessment. They discovered that Vivaldi actually wrote one thing over 4000 times... ;)

  • @kirillzapple

He learned from Buxtehude and Italian composers like Vivaldi.

  • remember that even during his lifetime he wasnt much in fashion, his fame almost didnt surpass the frontiers of Germany, when old he was called "die alte Peruecke", becouse he cultivated a baroque contrapuntistic style no longer in fashion. Until F.Mendelsohn made him again popular he wasnt much liked
