@CasualVideoGamer So apparently the infected only react to high pitched noises or bright lights. Which is why the sound of gunfire doesn't cause them to react, but the light from the gunfire does.

The witch should attack whatever comes close to her, then again if one common infected provokes her unintentionally either by walking close or through mob attacks the witch will start to rampage out of control. If so it can be helpful eliminating zombies during mob attacks or fatal if your close enough after she eliminated her target. This mode should be added in "Realism" mode in L4D2. I want to see a jockey riding a provoked witch, that'll be funny!

@nananooknak Not necessarily open doors. If you lose control of a flying plane, it'll eventually crash, killing everything inside in a fiery plume. The pilot may have been attacked by an infected co-pilot or something.
