With the switcher in the lash-up, it reminds me of a friend from elementary school who use to double-head trains on his HO layout with an A.H.M. Santa Fe Fairbanks-Morse streamlined diesel & a TYCO Santa Fe 4-wheel diesel switcher!
As usual, the best of the litter! Question, what do you use to make sure you are were you need to be? A lot of what I do is just dumb luck and a tiny bit of skill. I know radio and the knowledge of what is being said, but is there a web site that has daily updates?
Again, one of my favorite trains.. Couple of years ago they brought it out into the sun while I had the grandkids with me...They thought I paid to have them do that.
Great capture. I liked the telephoto shot as the lead unit came around the curve through the trees. Nice effect. It was good to see passenger varnish on the old MILW Road Chicago-Sabula line for a brief moment even if it's only an extra move. That's what it used to be like in the halcon days of passenger rail service.

This is a horn I remember on the old E and F units from my younger days with Santa Fe, love the old Leslie Tyfon A-200 horns. Wonderful catch.

It is great that the museum arranges with railfan groups to have the train go out to these celebrations!

@ThePostal67 Thanks. I had a couple of friends chasing it also. I kept in contact with them. And the IRM provided a GPS position on their web site.
