this song is so beautiful in all aspects... it makes my skin like a hens one.... hehehe is so beautiful... melodie... and skillnes of pinella and romeo.... symphony x i love you
i have been trying to find an audio file of this song, not a downloadable file, i got that part down, i just need to be able to play the audio on any website, anyone got a link?
the funny thing is, you all think these guys would be genious for copying verdi and bach. uhm wait, somebody see the mistake… verdi and bach were geniuses. i bet these guys cant improvise a piano piece with six different melodies on six different rhythms ;)
@KuchikiByakuyaftw Man, Pinella plays since he was like five, and graduated on classical music, so maybe he could do a piano piece with a lot of different melodies and stuff, but this is not the point of their music. They play Progressive Metal.
well this is a nice song one of my favorite and i thng its good to hear thsi groups ho play somthing classic and metal in same time its nice i hope find some music like this......
@vegeta353658 if your take your friends DICK out your EAR, maby you will hear that Russell Allen is one of the best singers in the world. But of course, you could be a total asshole looking for a fight...who knows
My all time favorite metal album! Not a single crappy song on the entire record!
The special thing about this song is how Symphony X demonstrates their ability to integrate classical music into their own style.
First the Verdi requiem, then an amazing guitar solo, and then from 3:35 all the way to 4:26 is ALL J.S. Bach's concerto for harpsichord and orchestra until the chorus comes back in. Amazing.
The best thing about how they integrate a neoclassical sound is that they are seemingly able to do it in a way that doesn't sound cheesy or just "two things put together", I mean they put two things together but it just sounds like a whole new awesome thing, like it was just meant to be that way.
Finally! Someone who fully understands why I love this band so much! The world needs more people like you who can appreciate good music when they hear it, not just become obsessed with a band because of a couple good solos in a song they heard.
Yeah I know exactly what you mean. All the tracks flow into each other so perfectly too; the album might as well just be one big track! And whichever track I'm listening to at the time seems like its the best track on the album. And then it goes to the next track and I'm like no this one is! HAH its all SO GOOD!!! RAHHHHH!!!
@Cabernal It's Bach's Harpsichord concerto in D (BWV 1052), a incredible masterpiece. Here's the best version I could find on youtube. Listen to the whole thing, and you'll here the part Symphony X used starting in at around the 5:15 mark and it goes all the way to 6:40. They kind of condensed it a bit in the Fool's Paradise version. Here's the link, just make sure you actually type in this link or it won't work.
@CicadaKillerMan I love the Bach reference here (although I should call it more than a "reference" in this case.) How about the Bach "Kyrie" from "Smoke and Mirrors", after the 2nd chorus? Pretty awesome stuff!
Such a well written prog metal song with actual classical music integrated... Wonderful musical integration in this one... not big on SX's super heavy/speed side as of late. Liking this record... second song I've heard off it.

Couldn't help noticing some of the lyrics are wrong. The first pre0chorus should be (and is)...
Oh, empire of the sea,
Lords of technology that fell into the void
Oh shall it be as it was before -
A tragedy on every shore?
...but the second should be...
Oh, empire of the sea,
Lords of technology bring death unto the Earth
Oh shall it be as it was before -
A tragedy on every shore?

If Verdi was alive he would make Progressive Metal.

i think he'd make a cup of deathly tea and strangle himself with a cello string whilst jumping off a bridge.
seems to happen to a lot of introspective classical musicians.
