  • Found this accidentally. It's very nice indeed. Thanks for posting!

@Beaglejune80 Hahaha, yeah. I wish it were me.:-)

  • Ive found this and more of these covers check out user suslu12 page amazing stuff, loads of DS covers on their page aswell as others.

  • Great cover. The guitarplayer must be a soulmate of Mr. Knopfler! ;-)

  • why one dislike this??????????

  • Sounds like Alex Bollard, that's a guy who in the past made a complete album with DS covers

  • good job, but a wee bit choppy at the beginning

  • I think you will find its expresso love band - a dire straits tribute band, but still an awsome piece of music.

  • noobs? its dire straits!!

  • This is an amazing cover of a timeless song. It strikes this remarkable balance between making you wonder if part of it is from the original (the rhythm guitar, the piano, and to a lesser extent, even the drumming), but on reflection it's clearly an original, unto itself. That said, I remember where I was when I heard this song for the first time--it was in a car at the start of what would be a long, cold winter. I pulled over to the side of the road and just listened. Pure soul, this song.

  • Amazing song. There is a band called The Brothers in Arms. They have an album with dire straits' greatest hits in an instrumental version. The Greatest Guitar Hits of Dire Straits.

    Peace

  • Incredible. Great cover of a great band and guitarist.

  • This is from a cd called THE GREATEST GUITAR HITS OF DIRE STRAITS. There's ten instrumental versions of Dire Straits songs on this album. They were performed by a band called THE BROTHERS IN ARMS. Only place I could find selling it was on a European Amazon site.

  • nice

  • Thanks. All this time I'd been playing the main riff WRONG! Back to practice on this one...

  • i dont think its knopfler ,sounded like plektrum play, and knopfler dont use plektrums only for rhythm guitarrs, but never for lead guitars!!!

  • @galdorio

CHECK OUT ALCHEMY, I THINK IT IS THE ONLY TRACK THAT HE USES A PLEKTRUM THROUGHOUT THE SONG. BUT I DON'T THINK IT IS MK ON THIS PARTICULAR VERSION.

  • This one is good :d

  • expresso love (THIS VERSION!!!), tunnel of love, you and your friend...

    w dire straits!

  • expresso love, tunnel of love, you and your friend...

    w dire straits!

  • You know...

  • it turns a very deep and meaningful song into everydaydoodeeleedoo

  • it turns a very deep and meaningful song in everydaydoodeleedoo

  • Better than the original. Mk's singing and strutting detract from the main thing: his guitar playing and composing. If his voice were better, it would have only made things worse. The music is the thing (ok his lyrics are way above average) . This cover though is superb. Yeah, who did it?

  • Yeah it's okay, no doubt about it, though I like the piano part in the original very much.

  • @maraniano Yeah, Roy Bittan rules!

  • i love this so much !!!!!!!!!

    Magnifico

  • No se si es de los Dire Straits pero suena MUY BIEN, ES PRECIOSA

  • nice

  • very good

  • That's absolutely not MK. But it's nice to listen to.

  • Estoy de acuerdo. No es Mk. ;)

  • This is fun to listen to - indeed the solo guitar is tasty - but the drum machine gives it away a little that it's not MK's doing.

  • I'm sure MK could play this way if he wanted. Anyway, not the point - the guitar doing the vocals could be anyone really :S

  • Awesome!

  • as you know when they record they do tracks , then they sing along , all they is leave out the vocals , so it is the original minus the vocals added later

  • Damn this is even better that the original. SUPERBE.

  • The additional guitar that takes the place of Mark Knopfler's voice is absolutely amazing.

  • best dire straits song!

  • i can't not agree MORE ;-)

  • yyyyyeah :-)

  • Freakin' great!!!

  • Probably the best riff Mr Knopfler ever wrote!!

  • Where did you get this one+ ;) I thought i had pretty decent control over the studio bootlegs that are circulating, but I can't remember this one.

  • no idea, soulseek I think.

but I'm starting to think it's a fake since nobody else knows about it...

but it sounds too damn awsome to be a fake.. right?

  • @ovk8 This is a cover from a band called Brothers in Arms, they do alot of instrumental covers of Dire Straits=)

  • Am I the only one watching? This is absolutely awesome!
