This isn't true. USC has a strict religious observance code, partly because of the cultures of foreign students. Any professor that acted as this video described would be fired. Also, chalk will barely ever break when dropped from hand height.

ok listen. If the professor would have dropped the chalk without it hitting anything then it would break of course. The only reason it did not break is because of the force of the professors clothing is stopping gravity to push the chalk down to the at full velocity, thus slowing the chalk down, but if he dropped the chalk normally then it would have been broken because it is falling at full velocity. If there was a God, then he would slow down the velocity of the chalk while it was falling

First, I would like to say that I am a Christian. However, there are several logical flaws in the video. First of all the spelling of professor is kind of ridiculous. This is pathetic and makes me not want to take the video seriously. Assuming this story is even true, and the chalk broke every time, this does not prove anything. It strengthens the argument for the existence of God but does not prove anything at all. If a basketball player makes 99 out of 99 free throws, will he make the 100th?

Even if the chalk example doesn;t work as well because you can differ, here's another: The story says the chalk slid down his sleeve and onto the pleat of his pants. The unlikely event that the professor has gigantic cuffs that could catch chalk and doesn't tuck in his shirt, or doesn't wear a belt, or that a drop would go inward to his shoe, it's all just improbable. Theres too much that's unexplained to look realistic. also gnore my mention that universities never allow this behavior.

If it occurred at all, it would have had to have been at least 30 years ago, before anti-harassment and discrimation rules were in place.

God has no need to have been created, since He exists either outside time (where cause and effect do not operate) or within multiple dimensions of time (such that there is no beginning of God's plane of time). Hence God is eternal, having never been created.
The only possible escape for the atheist is the invention of a kind of super universe, which can never be confirmed experimentally (hence it is metaphysical in nature, and not scientific).

if god exists out of time then god does not exist, because time is a placeholder for matter and energy. Existance is the property of matter and energy everything that exists has to be connected to time. Also if he is eternal then what was he doing before he created the earth? and before that? Its kinda hard to believe that an all knowing deity would be doing nothing for an infinite amount of time

Interesting issue. We have to distinguish between God's time and ours:
1- Gods time is ontological time, absolute NOW, no past and no future. Therefore he is not subject to the laws of nature.
2- our time is Measured time or clock time (past, present and future)
So, some people reject the Plotinian-Augustinian theory of divine absolute timelessness. And I agree with those people. Thus, God is in time but in a ontological time and not in measured of clock time.

Just the following points to sum up why i feel your entire agurement is flawed.
(1) The video is based on a disproven urban myth
(2) The validity of the story is just as important as the content
(3) Faith is definded as "the acceptance of any subject matter without supporting evidencde":
(4) so faith in god is just as logical and clear minded as faith in the tooth fairy ... or dragons.
(5) Ethier belief system is cleary a state of delusion and thus mentally unhealthy

1.USC has never had a class of 300 students that has any final exam featuring any religious theme.
2. Any claim that uses a invalid story as the basis of its arguement has already failed.
IE:
A book of nothing but third hand accounts not substansiated by any historian of the times its works are accredited to .... ie suspect validity.
LOGICALY leads the reader to discredit any
futher claim made based on the accuracy of said book.

ok listen. If the professor would have dropped the chalk without it hitting anything then it would break of course. The only reason it did not break is because of the force of the professors clothing is stopping gravity to push the chalk down to the at full velocity, thus slowing the chalk down, but if he dropped the chalk normally then it would have been broken because it is falling at full velocity. If there was a God, then he would slow down the velocity of the chalk while it was falling

While I understand the purpose of faith, and commend the individuals who decided to make the video... there is no way that a society made up of so many "Christians" would only have one person in 20 years stand up. I've known enough evangelical Christians to ascertain that much. Obviously this is a false story. But if it makes you feel better, then enjoy. After all, faith is designed to bring comfort and soothe the masses.

--So to you, that's the only type of Christian? If someone's a Christian (who believes in his faith) then he must be "evangelical." A common misconception, designed by the media.
The point is that most Christians have been told by society, especially in universities (and many times by enforced rules), that talking about religion (pro-religion, especially and particularly Christianity) is not socially acceptable, and we should reverse that trend.

This has actually been proven to be a false story, its circulated all over the internet, however people at the usc have no knowledge of its occurence and their is no courses at usc that have been there for 20 years or more that even discuss religion. google the story, you will see.

A coincidental event does not prove the existence of God. Sure, if it is true, it is a great motivational story, but you cannot take an event of chance and make it evidence that God exists. And it was not even a similar drop to the previous years.

First, I would like to say that I am a Christian. However, there are several logical flaws in the video. First of all the spelling of professor is kind of ridiculous. This is pathetic and makes me not want to take the video seriously. Assuming this story is even true, and the chalk broke every time, this does not prove anything. It strengthens the argument for the existence of God but does not prove anything at all. If a basketball player makes 99 out of 99 free throws, will he make the 100th?

--Then I have very little belief that you are a Christian, or at least one who practices or believes. For if you were, you wouldn't require "proof," as in concrete, infalible evidence of God's existence. His influence is in the idea that the chalk did not break the one time a believer stood up and challenged the teacher.
BTW, how do spelling errors diminish the storie's point?
