ok les américains sont des héros, mais faut vous rappelez qu'ils n'ont pas fait la guerre à cause du nazisme, ou de l'invasion de l'europe, l'allemagne devenait une menace avant tout pour les états-unis
To have worked on this series will be somthing i will treasure in my memory banks for the rest of my life, Thank you Tom Hanks for speaking with me and for honouring these men of easy company, Whats your next plan?
im sorry but whoever thinks that the Pacific tops BofB honestly needs to watch them both again. The pacific is great, but the story of Dick Winters and E-company is far more exceptionally done than the pacific.
@mrsmed12 there both good, the pacific focuses more on 3 people, the books for the Pacific are a must read. same with BoB. "With The old breed" stuff in the the old Breed will show you how much hate was between the USA and Japan.
Anybody knows what happened to Ranney? He was in group with Lipton in the mission to destroy the 4 cannons, but it seems we never saw him again after that...
For all men who died during all wars I respect them all, R.I.P. all who died for our freedom.. In fields of sacrifice Heroes paid the price Young men who died for old men's wars Gone to paradise We are all one great band of brothers And one day you'll see we can live together When all the world is free R.I.P. all soldiers who died during all wars... we will respect you and what you have done for our country('s)
You know what would be great: a German story. One of the proud and young German solders losing there innocence, having to watch as there nation crumbles, lose the war, and finding out the horrors that there leaders are doing... and still live to tell it. No doubt that happened in real life, at least i hope.
@NewYorkComedian hey there... what a good idea infact:) lets hope they make a good movie about it.. really good idea I must say;) from denmark. an a true ww2 "fan"
Soldiers like these fought for freedom and liberty so that the generation after them could live in a peaceful world. We owe these men with the deepest gratitude.
Yes! Apparently Damian was doing Shakespeare when Speilberg discovered him. The amazing thing is, I've seen the series a dozen times and I can find only one spot where he lapses into his native tongue. In Part 5 "Crossroads," when he and Tab whisper about the MG42 that's firing down the road. Tab says, "What's down that road?" Dick says, "Regimental headquarters, but that's three MILES away." Only Brits emphasize "miles" when talking about distance.
That's the mark of a truly great actor, to be able to fake an accent so well you'd never even know their real nationality without actually knowing the actor's background.
A great series about a group of people who did a great job under tremendous hardship and terrible conditions. Damien Lewis was brilliant. He looked and acted as a perfect true blue American. I was shocked to learn he was a British actor. A tesitment to his craft.
"30 seconds!!! To go, Sarg!!!" Captain: Listen up!!!? Sgt: Alright men, those germans bunkers over there you can see, are very heavly garded and we need to take those nazi pigs down for 1 and for all brothers in this boat we wont let us take any retreat just forward for everyone in this countery "5 seconds, guys!!!" Clear on the road!!!" Soldiers: 1: Shit!!!? Am, hit!!! 103: Oh, God!!! 61; Fuck, Christ!!! I cant move, my legs!!! Sir. 87: We need, backup over here sir.
I know it's totally out of the subject of the video but I've always been wondering about hand "code"signs that the soldier makes from 3:50 to 3:55. What does that mean ?
To me it sounds like : "2 men on a MG42, gotta throw grenades on them"
I am so looking forward to seeing the new series, "The Pacific" when it comes out. If it is even half as good as Band of Brothers was, I will be satisfied.
Major Winters is the greatest soldier of WW2. He lives up to the great American ideal that victory is everything. He never tolerates failure. He could have been the top General in the American army, but wanted to stay with his men. What a hero.
So does the guy from "House" and the guy from "Still Standing" and the guy who played Erin's boss in "Erin Brockovitch" Always blows me away to find out someone is British when I'm use to them without the accent.
I just now found out that the guy is British. Wow, I was like, nooooo way ha ha I've watched Band of Brothers dozens of times and I would have never thought that "Lieutenant/Captain/Major Winters" is English.
I read the book "BAND OF BROTHERS". SAVING PRIVATE RYAN was actually inspired by a true story occured on a member in Easy company. But unlike SAVING P R, he went home straight after they told him that all of his other brothers were killed.
i think it was the story of Fritz Niland whose brothers were KIA, two on the Normandy landings and the other a pilot who was shot down on the China-Burma-India theater.
wow, good for you, man. Frankly i dont remember these details. Haha, the only thing i remember about this book now is that i used to read this book in chemistry classes because i was unwilling to pay attention to the boring teacher.
And women, think about all the field nurses that got burried in the rubble of the hospital they were working in to save the lifes of said men just because it got bombed.
It will be hard. Combat has changed drastically.. There aren't all these explosions and stuff now. Its like they see heat signals on their infrared cameras and fire missiles at it that are 100% accurate.
Helps explain why it was such a special artistic achievement, this series. Excellent writing, unselfish and often stellar acting, top-notch production values, and a conscious awareness of what story they were telling and how they chose to tell it.

Germany never declared Britain war. I see your British.
Im glad Hitlers racist party was destroyed and that Germany "survived" his crimes.
I dont think the world would have been that much different if the Germans had won and Hitler assassinated.
If Hitler had not invaded Russia, Germany would have won in Africa, and Churchill would have made sure Hitler was assassinated.
Churchill never ordered for his assassination when he learned that Hitler was going to dig his own army's grave in Russia
