  • Here in the Bay Area, it's either just a bong sound, or "The Doors Are Closing. Please Stand Clear of the Doors".

  • in soviet russia, the doors stand clear of YOU!

  • Ik vindt dit een veel mooiere stem dan die vrouwelijke.

Hij klinkt zacht, en zij commanderend.

  • Sounds like a Disney World announcement.

  • If you need to know about the NYC subway, ask me!! I live there

  • Am tier of this shit every time I take the train

  • our subway train here don't even have a chime. they're also the oldest subway cars in north america which sucks.

  • that is the coolest announcement ever

  • oh my god I really miss NY

  • Why the fuck am I watching this!?

  • Woah. In London it just beeps and closes REALLY quickly..

  • He sounds so proud.

  • I also like him saying something like "There is a 1 local train approaching the station". He reminded me a 'lil of Michael Buffer^^

  • I like that voice :)

  • MTR of Hong Kong sounds nicer. :D

  • I flew back from NYC yesterday and I loved this sound too. I recorded it too but its kind of crap thanks to you that I can hear it now :D

  • Stand clear of the closing doors please is the best annoucement of all the subways in the world.

  • cool

  • Haha, classic! I love hearing that on the subway.

  • :)

  • awesome!!!

  • lol 3 people didn't stand clear

  • i live in NYC and I ride the R160s the most. It has the doors that close with a whirring sound or a silent lock sound. Still has SCOTCDP.

  • Stand clear of the closing doors please. Brilliant. I was in NYC nov this year loved the subway

  • Loved that american man saying stand clear better than london tubes annoucements

  • @davidjvulgar i believe in london, most trains do not have the stand clear. london focuses too much on "MIND THE GAP"

  • Gotta love the door chimes on the NYC subway cars.

  • Was in NY subway last Monday, back in the UK now. The male/female voice is still present.

Have you travelled on the JMZ lines? That goes over ground.

I travelled around NY as my accomodation was different everyday. Washington DC has a very nice metro through, it is awesome.

  • Reminds me of GTA IV :D

  • sounds gust like gta 4's trains even thought their both new york.

  • LOL 5* video! :D i was also in NY with my g/f and we had a blast listening to that :D very very funny, great video!

  • yup, i hear his voice in my dreams

  • Heard this on the R and N train and said to myself "OMG I heard this in Borat!!" I was being such a tourist lol

  • The next stop is.. I remember the voice as well when I was there..

  • is this a 6 train

  • @avajablonski It may be an F or 1,2,3 train

  • Yeah ! :D

  • What college are they announcing? Sounds like Lincoln College, but there's no Lincoln College in NYC!

  • @InYourFaceNewYorker Lehman College - this is a 4 train, likely at Kingsbridge (all thought it could be at Mosholu Pkwy)

  • @ThtBoredKid yes its a 4 train and yes its at kingsbridge

  • @InYourFaceNewYorker The station is Bedford Boulevard, Lehman college :)

  • Where the bloodclaat is dat pussywhole dat say stand clear closing doors I wan kick him in a him mout

  • "If you look to your left, you'll see Dilophosaurus!"

  • hahah love it

  • Sound almost like GTA 4's subway.

  • "Ding Dong" "Doors closing" - Chicago CTA

  • lmao.

    'Ding Dong' :D

  • "Stand clear of the closing doors please" -> New York's answer to London's "Mind the gap" announcements :)

  • I've travelled on both including DC's Metro which beats both in comfort, speed and hygiene.

The 'mind the gap' on LT's tube refers to the gap between the train and the platform.

In fact I've travelled on paris/budapest/prague/german/glasgow metro too, but washington's DC metro is very modern and quiet, nice.

  • @EinkOLED In my country, there isn't even an announcement. SWOOSH! The doors just close XD

  • @SpaceMonkey1983 We had 'minerdoors' first... the yell of the now-replaced guard.

  • lol

  • Hoi Eva,

    Leuk filmpje

Ik had er dezelfde beleving bij.

Ben er inmiddels 4 keer geweest.

    Echt een geweldige stad.

    Groeten.

  • Hoi Eva,

    Leuk filmpje.

Ik had er de zelfe beleving bij

  • should be an R142 or R142A

  • Singapore - Door Are Clossing Tututututu....

    Have a Light...

    So, Singapore MRT the best....

    huhuhu...

  • @arpeggio6s yeah me too . Singapore MRT is the best .

  • Reminds me those weekend work trips to the city with dad when I was younger, those were the days

  • It's sounds so friendly.

Unlike the crap we get here

    "STAND CLEAR! - DOORS CLOSING"

  • Hence, the 'please'.

  • Not only the "please" - but the tone of voice.

We get this robotic monotone man from the 1960's speaking an accent you only hear in Buckingham Palace these days.

  • where's "here"?

  • London, United Kingdom.

  • at least you guys have a train that speaks. In Cleveland, its jus a plain "Dong dong"

  • @NeoFalcon69 Actually it's pretty common... Philly, DC (probably Boston, too) and of course it's way far behind the "stand clear of the closing doors, please"

  • @NeoFalcon69 Or London's "MIND THE GAP"

  • I love that sound, it brings me back the great memories... and uhm, Stand clear of the closing doors, please!

  • you were on an R142A 4 train!

  • Blvd Leham College Stand clear of the closing doors please.

  • Booo, that one sucks. Disney needs to just let everyone use, "Please stand clear of the doors", "Por favor mantengase alejado de las puertas". Besides every train you take it would remind you of being at Disneyland/ World. It's practically free advertising, corp gold mine.

  • This train is travelling to: Sorry, Not in Service.

  • thanks xDD

  • yea i live in NY i have rode the subway many time the older trains have a real person if you block the doors they will say step in so we can leave

  • I remember those days

and sometimes they would get someone to force you in the train good times

  • I like this chime lol

  • thay say that because ass holes block the doors

  • hahahahha

  • you were on a r142A

  • haha, oh that's cool to know :)

  • The R160A/B R142 143 all say that those trains a computerize anouncements

  • Out of the R142, 143, and 160, only the R142 operates on the numbered lines, the others operate only on the lettered lines. The announcement says Bedford Park Blvd/Lehman College is next, which means that this is the 4 line in the Bronx.

  • yea

  • they are ppls voices!

  • yeah they're from bloomberg radio. I'm glad they used the guys voice less in the R160s, he was kinda annoying

  • awh memories

  • Cartoony

  • haha

I am from Argentina and I have been on NYC the past year. I also loved de Stand clear... phrase and I recorded it too to listen it againg again!

    saludos

  • sukkels XD
