I don't really see anything wrong with it if it is a crime of need. The memorial was horrifically ugly. And what the fuck does a gaudy war memorial do for the dead, it doesn't seem to bring them back. It certainly doesn't stop those in charge from carelessly sending thousands more to get slaughtered as cannon fodder.
