You should check out CNET's head-to-head YouTube video of OSX vs. Windows 7, which showed both OS's holding their own in terms of stability and performance.....but clearly showing OSX suffering constant lag issues. I find that particularly disturbing considering that OSX has been streamlined to work on only several hardware configurations, yet manages to perform so badly. In high end rendering and pipeline performance, Windows 7 was an absolute victor, leaving OSX in the dust.

windows can be installed on a mac... but macs have inferior hardware. hell, i bought an alienware laptop last YEAR, it's graphics card (HD 5850) is still better than the NEWEST macbook pros have loaded on them. it's sad, really, but macs are really not very good computers hardware wise. they're more for people who don't understand computers and want a quick and easy purchase.

@macsoldier1000 sorry, i wanted to fact check before posting a second time. but here's the smack down: macbook pros dont have native res of 1920x1080... which is the norm in screens. which is really sad, considering that Apple advertises their computers as artist friendly. im do animation and i can tell you a big res is def one of the most important features of a computer (especially a laptop since its rarely upgradable)... even more so than performance.

@macsoldier1000 i would choose windows 7. if it were purely for the aesthetic and user interface and ease of use... id have to go with windows 7 again. because it's just that much better. i find myself more productive and focused when i want to be, and more in control of my OS when i use windows. osx is just "there" and lets you come along for the ride, which isn't too exciting, either.

and when it comes to aperture, if you're editing photos, why not use Photoshop...? CS5 is better on pc anyhow
