If you bothered to look it up, you'd see that Kelly had no idea Beyonce's album even contained Halo at the time this song was recorded. By the time she did find out, her album was being pressed therefore it was too late to do anything about it.

Also, she fought with her recored label to not release it as a single out of respect for Beyonce, but her label released it anyway.

Because is damages the artists credibility when u sell the same song to two different artists. This is not the first time Ryan Tedder has been accused of recycling backing tracks in the same song. He's been recycling portions of that Bleeding Love for the longest and he needs to be called out on it because it's extremely unprofessional and it damages the subsequent artists credibility.

Seriously people both Halo and this song were written by Ryan Tedder. It's like how bands songs between albums for the most part still have the same basic sound. The two songs are different enough for it to really not matter. Just enjoy the music. :)

It's a sad day in the music industry when this type of behavior is accepted. It's sad when we as consumers accept this kinda of foolishness instead demanding that the industry do better. This is another reason why album sales are down. Recycling songs is okay with the same band but not between two different artists.

Why exactly would I want the industry to do better? And why exactly would I care? It is all most impossible for there to be a 100 percent completely original song these days. I enjoy music regardless of what it sounds like. If I like it, I listen to it. Plain and simple. I stopped looking to Pop music for originality a loooooong time ago. I listen to Pop music because it is enjoyable. I listen to Animal Collective and Tv On The Radio to get my originality fix. :)

Man this similarity is clearly blatant. I hear the backing track for halo throughout the entire song. If we refuse to accept songs like this then maybe better music might be able to be played and independent artists who are doing originial music might be able to be played on the radio because by rejecting this type of behavior.
