I have the same problem I have no idea how to fix it. I don't have access to a hard wired connection so I haven't been able to try that. I'm pretty sure thats not what the problem is though my latency is usually really low.
Ok guys, i did some research because i have the same problem. Long story short, try downloading WLAN optomiser. It is a problem with windows wireless zero config, on xp you can disable it and this usually does the trick. On vista, its as far as i know unfixable. I've had several computer geeks check it out for me and been to loads of forums and it seems to be a common problem. Although my lag spikes arent comparable to this, i get small ones every few minutes. also disable/change your antivirus.
Yeah i get this in every game ever since i reset my router, when i unplugged my router and tried playing with just my modem the problem was gone, but i need the router.
What I witnessed in this video is an internet connectivity issue. Probably ping spiking. The reason you can surf fine and still have ping spikes is because it is first person shooter real time gaming that makes it particularly noticeable. Of course your not going to notice it when you are surfing.
Well, I managed to fix it the first time by uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers for my wireless adapter. Recently though I've had to go back to my internal wireless adapter and the problems returned, but after purchasing yet ANOTHER USB adapter (this time from DLink), I've not had this problem.
It does that no matter what connection I used though. I've tried it with 2 friend's connections, one fiber-optic and one cable (2Mb and 4Mb respectively), at the local cyber-cafe (6-7Mb) and at work (2-3Mb), but it still happens. I managed to fix it temporarily by uninstalling and reinstalling my wireless adapter's drivers, but the spikes have returned recently.
i have the same problem

@SerbianDukePwnage As I said previously, the problem I had was with the network adapter itself, I've not had this problem for a long time now.

@hitheremynameisstuar
I've already fixed that problem, it was an issue with the adapter itself.
