  • Love that machine, it's now almost 20 years I bought it and I just can't leave it.

  • Sounds a ton like the drum sounds found on the triton. I trip out how they steal eachother's sounds.

  • Электронное говно!

  • Best Drum machine of alltime in the right hands. Classic examples Cameo "Word UP" And Prince "Sign O The Times". In recent times Mario Winan "I Dont Wanna Know.

  • Wow! With that 1:59 E-Bass you could totally recreate

the Dead or Alive - You Spin Me Round (Like A Record) intro.

  • Just took my rx apart today to clean it up. Sticky buttons..... Would have been 70 pounds if i sent it off to be cleaned! Happy i did it myself. Learned to take it apart without breaking it!

  • track at the end sounds like knight rider lol

  • Good tune at the end, good demo, thanks

  • @tshhtf Thanks. The demo tune was totally improv. Be sure to subscribe to be notified of future videos of more classic synths and drum machines.

  • I thought DXorch sounded familiar, Mac fans will recognize it as the Indigo sound from the classic Mac OS software.

  • darth vader theme! 2:46

  • man i could do so much shit with this thing.

  • @1787dude You could also make music with it, too.

  • @zibbybone ok i promise, lol

  • How did you make that pattern at 6:13 ? i been trying to make hi energy patters but i been having a hard time making sick sounds like that

  • hello zibbybone,

    fine demo here ! ; )

    i got a little question :

how do you make it work you could play the samples in pitch variation with your keybord ???

need every single instrument his own midi channel for to make it work in that way ?

greetz and roll the beat !

    mona

  • @thePOLYGIRL From video description: "Lastly, I demonstrate a function that turns the drum machine into a 16 part monophonic, multi-timbral sound module. Here, I sequence four parts (DXClav, Bass1, Snare1 and Closed Hi Hat) with a Roland Fantom X6."

  • @zibbybone

thank you for reply... yes for shure, i have seen and hear. but how you made this?

i also have this RX5 but with midi connection i dont know how i can using the RX5 with pitch mode and the parameters in it.

you got an idea how this works ?

  • fantastic sounds. I wish the '80s have never ended. But like all in life, what's good must end...

  • hi! i want to hook my rx 5 to a roland sh 101 or a juno 6 but i cant get the clock to match! please help me... i want to sync the tempo with the arpeggios from the synths.. thanks!

  • @fahrigonzo watch video called Sync any drum machine to a Roland JX-3P that might give you some hints. You have to make use of one of the individual out put on your RX5.Watch that video anyway. It might work with the Juno-6(it's trigger in like on JX-3P) but not sure about 101 as it's a clock and not trigger input.

  • Hey real cool. I got the Fantom X and haven't gotten the hang of making beats with the built in sequencer. As a short cut, do you think I'd be better off with a drum machine like the RX5 or with a rhythm machine like the Yamaha QY100 to pair with my roland? Thx.

  • @Halunlimited The fantom x is FAR superior as a sequencer/sampler. You can sample &/or load in ANYTHING in the world...including RX5 samples. It's really a waste if you don't make use of it. I would take the time to learn it...you'll be glad you did. I know demos can make you think you need "something else", but you really don't. Trust me on that one. Also, I have used the roland, and the interface is actually VERY easy to use because you have a ton of info on 1 page rather than many pages.Luck

  • Is this sample or synth based?

  • @Desmaad Sample-based

  • Hey how did you get that snare sounds at 2:23 ? I cant find it on my RX5

  • @mexmetal666 That snare sound is SD 3 from the WRC01 cartridge that comes with the RX5. As you can see on the LCD display, it says "ch01 =Crt-SD 3". I have the RX5 in multi-timbral mode so a single drum sound's pitch is mapped across my MIDI keyboard (Fantom X6 in this case).

  • hey can you tel lme where I can find a replacement battery assembly for this machine. Yamaha doesnt carry parts for this any more.

  • Cool !!!. From someone who had an RX21, and had a mate with an RX15, who then upgraded to an RX5, this was like the holy grail for us back in the 80's ! nice to see the old girl again. A BRILLIANT drum machine.

  • Great demonstration. Thanks for uploading.

  • great job man !!

Can you do the contrary , using the sequencer of the RX5 and the sounds of the Fantom X6 ?

  • this is awesome 5/5
