keep doing it overr and over or when it give u the error... hold down shift and click restore (because update wouldnt be available) and select the firmware file again... just do it over and over till it work... i did it like 8 times

you have to put it in DFU mode to do that you have to have itune 7.5 and you hold the home buttin and the sleep buttin together for ten seconds and press the home button like just a little bit befor the sleep buttin and then lett go of the sleep buttin right after ten seconds and continue holding the home buttin till itunes says your ipod is in recovery mode then shift click and restore

When using winpwn, I get to the stage where the iPod Touch goes into recovery mode.

On winpwn it says, "Failed to put iPod into recovery mode." and a box comes up saying, "Connect your iPhone and put it into recovery mode."

So I manually put the iPod into recovery mode, but nothing happens.

no worries yo i fixed my ipod i figured it out. if ur ipod wont turn on while tryin to do this, u can try wut Hmn30 said, or wut i did, lol i cant really remember exactly wut i did... ummmmm when ur doin wut hmn30 did, ur screen should go white. then itunes will detect ur ipod, since ur in the old itunes u cant restore with the 2.0 ispw so since u cant do that. just simply shift click on restore and use the 1.1.4 ispw this worked for me though on winpwn it said it was for iphone it worked for me

READ THIS!!!!

If your ipod touch/iphone doesnt turn on, hold the power and home button for 10 seconds, then, release the power button and hold the home button and until you get the "usb detected" sound. AS SOON AS YOU HEAR IT, double click the 2.00 ipsw file on your computer, that fixed it for me. You can also try double clicking the 1.14 ipsw, but that didnt work for me.
