we evolved from apes to have unfathomable understanding and perception of the world via our brain by pure chance. Our instinct as with EVERY animal on earth is to protect and love our own kind or really any living being and with our new understanding of the world we now embody that instinctual need to care as a necessity for all because ITS COMMON SENSE! life today is so good and easy that we now have the luxury and choice based on our pure animal instinct to love and give chance to ALL humans
@truexdaci life is good today ((compared to the first humans (cavemen if you need a simple explanation to help you realize how harsh life really was) even in 3rd world countries they pretty much have it made IN COMPARISON to the first humans who had to fight and struggle EVERY day just to eat a small meal and life expectancy was mid 20's)) so before anyone says life isnt easy JUST STOP AND THINK for a few minutes and try to comprehend having to brave the weather and catch your own meal EVERY day
God sees things from a completely different perspective than us. Our minds cannot ever grasp the immensity of His love and knowledge. We can choose to see everything from the perspective of the world, or from the perspective of the Bible. You either live a of life of questions, or a life of devotion to Jesus. One promises nothing, the other promises hope and salvation. I admit, the Darwin story does have its doubts, but it hasn't been proven to be 100% false either.
Mark, please separate the evolution that explains life diversity and extrapolate to: fit killing the weak. Don't make association between sociopath thinking Social Evolutionism (which is by any mean a fundamentalist way of thinking) and a measurable scientific theory. If you embrace or not, is your POV. If a penguin do not kill other cub penguins, but help it, just take that there is love in other places than a narrow view. Is really wrong this hate speech in mouth of Christian who believe Evo
@ciplogic Thank you ciplogic. It's unfortunate that most fundamentalist Christians are unaware of the reality of evolution. The special creation model is only supported by ignorance, dishonesty &/or fallacious reasoning. Here's an excellent series on "Science & Christian Education". user/glovergj#p/u/29/Fperp1Mezt0
@ciplogic you didn't get what he said at all man. Look you can not even start to use the carnal brain to explain the holy. When you do you fail at understanding and you open the door for Satan to come in and take control. I do however have one question. If your not a Christian why are you looking at this video and trying to explain away what was just said in this video? If you are a Christian then why are you questioning and contradicting Gods word?
@slushomatic I'm a Christian, by ALL means, yet I'm not making God to match my interpretation of Scripture. Is not to use or not use brain or listen to Satan. I do like other preachings of Mark (like the one against hypocrisy with jumping on paintings). The issue is simply: don't mess with science cause you think that your interpretation is the one that God "endorse", instead simply reread Scripture and science and try to make harmony between them. God made life using evo, not by Marks' view
Will Christians ever stop using straw man arguments?
Equality in the Bible? The Bible teaches that there are chosen people (The Jews) and then everyone else. What? Evolution does not teach this at all. Darwin even spoke about how human compassion is part of the evolutionary process. We do better as a species when we take care of each other.
Of course Mark ignores the Biblical justification for slaughtering untold millions in the new world and Africa. They were sons of Cain!
@Threshingfloor814 Jesus shed his blood for everyone, not just for the Jews. Therefore, we all have value and worth. And Darwin repented in his death bed, believe it or not. Therefore everything he stated, he regretted, but it was too late since all the books were sent into the universities and were being studied worldwide. And for the slaughtering of innocent people, that's based on politics, not on God. People are given free will, remember that.
@Jozzie16 I didn't ask him to shed his blood for me, and if I had been there that day, I would have done everything in my power to stop that brutal act. Someone sacrificing himself to himself as a loophole to a bunch of immoral and absurd laws does not impress me one bit. Speaking of commandments...thou shalt not bear false witness. The Darwin recanting myth was spread by one woman who wasn't even there. It wouldn't matter anyway, the evidence supports Darwin's original idea.
@Thethreshingfloor814 Humanity is limited in its nature and inconsistent with holding up to its own standards. Moreover, humanity has argued and searched for a perfect morality without looking to the source of it. Yet that doesn't seem important when making an accusation against a being whose very nature is perfectly moral and consistent, never contradicting itself. They have to bring this being down to their level to have any hope of making it immoral when it's not conceivably possible.
I think it would be fair to say that Driscoll's understanding of evolutionary theory and its implications is a good hundred years out of date. No one thinks that some humans are more evolved than others. Modern genetics has utterly refuted any such notions. Sadly, the church is more to blame for racism than is evolution.
Oh, man. I like Pastor Mark a great deal, and truly admire his Christ-centered preaching. But he is WAY off here with respect to the implications of evolutionary theory. I am certainly no scientist. Far from it. But I know enough to understand that it has nothing to do with racism, or kids with Down's Syndrome having less value than professors with PhDs or what have you. And contrary to popular belief, I believe there is room within Christian theology for evolutionary support.
Well, we do look like monkeys... but bats look like pterosaurs and tortusses look like Deidicurus. Its the vestiges I struggle with. Why do wales have leftovers from feet? Why do humans have hairy arms and feet? Did you know scientists have even recognised gens to grow teeth in chickens? Only their inactive.
Also interesting that the "3/5 of a human" rule was in the late 18th century and Origin of the Species was published in 1859. Racism is an embarrassment to humanity, and has permeated every culture throughout history. How on Earth does Mark makes draw parallels from racism to Darwin/natural selection? Who knows!
This man devalues and contorts real issues with his ranting nonsense.
Its because naturalistic Darwinian evolution gives an intellectual justification for racism even in the modern day according to some modern intellectuals. It really does give an intellectual justification to cleanse the gene pool from the perceived human ills from a given cultural viewpoint or to look down upon other races as less advanced branches of human evolution. Also, no, a purely natural view of history is in no way compatible with a belief in Christian theism.
And no one can possibly argue that a scientific theory that proposes *completely* random variations/mutations along with random changes in the environment that drive it forward, is a compatible creation theory by any sort of significant personal and powerful theistic deity. The Christian God is totally on the opposite end of the spectrum in terms of how involved he is with his creation.
AstarothCY - Yep, welcome to Mark Driscoll's preaching. He clearly has no idea what natural selection is, as he rants about slavery and the elderly. Who knows where he draws the connection but either:
Whether evolution has occurred as a historical fact and whether people are social Darwinists are two completely irrelevant things. Very sad that such an intelligent and eloquent person would not know this.

um we are all animals. That does not devalue a human what so ever, animal is a classification , such as mammal and primate.
