At Laguna Seca , I saw Hans Stuck Give his famous Yotel of Victory, with Hurley Haywood in domnation of the Cougars in Victory Lane 1 st . & 2nd! . Dam, They were faster than the Indy Cars overall . The # 4 & 5 IMSA Audi`s will be in History Forever. I love that 5 cylinder turbo sound , Epic at the least!

@KICDEN Das ist kein BOV, dass du da hörst. Die haben gar keine, der Sound kommt vom Strömungsabriss am Verdichterrad, wenn sich die Drosselklappe schliesst. Und da die ganze Luftsäule im Ansaugtrakt schwingt (Also mehrmals gegen das Laderrad "prallt") hört man zwei oder mehr kurze Pfeifgeräusche ;)

@Lucas911turbo Du irrst dich sehr , gerade die großen Turbos im Sport Quattro und im S1 haben ein gewaltiges Turboloch . Wenn du aus dem Leerlauf mit Vollgas beschleunigst passiert bis ca. 4200 U/Min absolut nichts . Das ist der Grund warum man so ein Auto auch fahren können muß , der Trick ist den Motor erst garnicht unter diese Drehzahl fallen zu lassen . Richtig schnell bewegen konnten diese fahrzeuge nur eine Handvoll Fahrer.

does anyone actually know how much bhp the s1 was actually running i know they sat it was around 600bhp but i read and heard they had 720 which would probably make their 0 - 60 time in around 3 seconds.AND THATS IN THE 80s they could do that.

0-100km/h(0-64m) = 2.3sec.

imsa GTO is slower to 100 km/h but much faster at higher speeds.

Audi also have prototype S1 with 1000BHP,with acceleration below 1.8sec

lancia delta S4 1.8 with 600BHP reach 0-100km/h=2.5sec.

and for

ford RS 200 1.8 with standard 450BHP acceleration is 3.275sec or

2.8sec(another source)

RS200 evolution(Prototype) with BDT 4 cyl. engine 2137cc with 800BHP can reach 0-60miles(97km/h) = 2.2 sec.

The first generation S1 (Evolution 1) had around 530 bhp while the Evolution 2 had over 600 and the Pikes-Peak version well beyond 650...

The S1 still holds several track records! The record on the Pikes Peak for front engine vehicles for example still belongs to the S1, 23 years later!

Mehr Auslauf hätten die schon gebraucht, die Strecken waren einfach zu kurz.

Trotzdem sollte auch ein altes Auto etwas bewegt werden. Von nur rumstehen werden die auch net besser.

Vielleicht gibts in Zukunft mehr solcher Veranstaltungen (mit mehr Platz) von Audi.

Jedenfalls kommt kein Auto bis Dato an diesen Sound heran. Geil!

Des war mal mit Abstand der schlechteste Schaulauf den Audi jemals veranstaltet hat und des in unserm heiligen allmächtigen oberbayerischen Ingolstadt. Solche Rennboliden auf so nem Miniparkplatz fahren zu lassen is ne Schande. Rennautos brauchen Platz zum fahren! Hoffentlich wird des in Zukunft wieder besser - Donauring 4ever
