@THE16THPHANTOM idk i see it going just the right speed... but below video is a full discription of what i do in the video. the videos i make are just to visually illistrate how to use the information that is written.. but any who there is a pause button... i dont even use ubuntu any more hahaha i use backtrack its just 10 times better :) even tho linux rocks :).
Nice guide. I just hit one teeeeeeny problem. For whatever reason, I cannot save any changes I make to the 40_custom file. Permission access is root as opposed to administrator. Wondering if you have any advice on what to do about that. I even tried using Vim. : / Thanks though I like the guide.
look at my 2nd video of editing the grub2... and the command to edit the 40_custom file is to use sudo infront of gksu. so it should look like this for if you vim as ur editor
" sudo vim /etc/grub.d/40_custom" without the qotes or "gksu vim /etc/grub.d/40_custom".... but take a look at my 2nd video on how to edit it on a more direct way. best of luck.
@curemymind That has got to be the fastest YouTube reply I have ever recieved. Ya, dummy me forgot to use 'sudo'. It works lol. One of those weeks lol.
never mind i saw the problem miss spelled directory hahahaah my bad good eye by the way and thank you for correcting my spelling... I just of typed it by mistake... again thanks :)
thanks

Thanks saved me! just a small correction - (in the command breakdown part)
please correct the spelling "directory" -> sudo grub-install --root-direcotry=/mnt/ /dev/sdx
when i copied and pasted it and it showed "report bugs" ...it was scary for a few seconds bfr noticing the typo :D
