Warriors of Chaos should be fun... Massed khorne marked marauders look promising (now that the downside to frenzy isn't as big), heck even chaos trolls and chaos ogres may be viable now.

Big monsters are in.  I expect to see more trolls and ogres. Frenzy on marauders is good.

Hey! I was in gw yesterday and won a close combat with 5 goblin archers against a wood elf hero with a big sword! Yay! :-)

i did an 8th edition rumor battle with my mate and totally smashed him with dark elves. Remember hatred rules changed (confirmed by GW) is now +1 to hit NOT re-roll.

Good to here about hatred. It was too powerful. Now when I crush people with my Dark Elves they can whine about something else.................

ahhh but now look at Black Guard. They always re-roll (warrior elite) with +1 to hit usually striking first because of i6 (its likely that 8th edition strike order will be infinitive again) with AP from the banner or murder (because u dont need to give them asf n e more). they are going to be killer.

Why is GW trying to fix bad Army books, with a full rule book? Start at the source, fix the army books. (though I am happy that they are updating it)

They are attempting to fix certain army books with the new release. They are trying to improve sales. They are streamlining or dumbing down the game to appeal to younger crowd. Guess, we will have to wait and see.

I think elite infantry is going to rule the field of battle. I do want to see what weapons do or not do. I think modifier will change or be streamlined.

Hah, plastic crack...awesome stuff. Love how you put it, cause it's perfectly correct: it is becoming an elitist hobby again. I hate that it's so hard to just get started unless you have someone helping you or you know for sure you're gonna stick with it. And as far as Privateer Press goes, great stuff, but a whole different monster. WHFB and 40k are much more hardcore with the depth, and very little pick up and play so it's hard enough to get interest! Hopefully you stick with it!

eh, just in time for me to get back into 40k, people will be distracted with this and ill have the left overs to play with, and im FINE with this. im more of an army collector when it comes to fantasy, i played a game the other day and it was just a lil too much for a casual gamer. IF i do play again im going to play with my buddies and NOT use magic. Other than that ill stick to collecting the armies and playing 40k.

Movement phase use to be the most important. They are "streamlining" it. (dumbing it down).

Currently dwarves charge 6 inches. New edition dwarves could charge 3 + 2d6 = 15 maximum. Holy crap! The variable/random charge stuff has me concerned.

what like only unbit with banners can take objectives. o it is going to change heavly!! im sorta sad i think its good atm and no magic has to stay strong they wont adress it with the new rule book their going to nurff alot of stuff however coolio and awesome carnt wait for more !

I tested the Magic Rule rumours i heard on Miniwargaming and i have to say it makes vampire counts over powered. 1 level 4 Vampire with Forbidden Lore can spam spam spam and do almost unlimited casting since he apparently gets +5 to all his casting rolls thanks to his level and a staff you can buy for him...mental.

@underfire987 Thats cool. I thought about getting into Flames of War but there are only 2-3 players. Only GW & Privateer Press games are played in our area. I am sticking to the main games. Don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a system nobody plays. Good luck.

@foolinjected101 true, but you can always get ur friends and other people into it, i plan to still use what i got for Gw games , but also get people over into other games as well, all i can say is that Gw wont be around in a few years or so if they keep jacking the prices like this, and im not going to buy anymore of their models , when i could get stuff like matics games for half the price u know, ow well have fun though its having fun thats what counts in the end ;).

@foolinjected101 acually this game system doesnt cost hundreds its really cost effective its just the rule book, which u can get cheap cheap for 7.50 dolllors canadian or the mostp pricy one is 31 dollors canadian. u could use models u already have so really the game only costs the rulebook which isnt that much ;) and free things will be brought out for the game as well ;)
