  • This is like mixing mashed potato with Caviar.

    Why ?

  • I don't think it can be compared to ABBA at all. The melody line is just too simple(and boring)

  • totally agree with mrtrashcan

  • Could have been an ABBA song really!

  • I'm looking to contact Geoff Morrow, does anyone have a contact for him

    Regards

    Kenny

    Radio Six

  • Nice song!!

  • Abba's way better than them

  • One of the co-authors of "There's a Whole Lot of Loving" was Geoff Morrow.... Geoff wrote another really lovely song called "You are My Lover" sung by Lawrence Gray who has a really amazing voice. This song is found on you tube.... watch it and enjoy!

  • LAWRENCE GRAY is fantastic!! Thanks for uploading " You Are My Lover". it is superb!!

  • Thank you mixxapm, it has been claimed by one of the members of Guys and Dolls that the record had been made by a group of session musicians before G & D had even been formed!! Pity, it's a great pop track all the same.

  • This was one of the very first songs i ever heard. it was one of the tracks on a double cassette released by K-Tel.

  • I was 11 when this came out. My father (David Martin) sang the lead male vocals that the band mimed to. I have never seen any footage of Dominique miming to my fathers voice, but would love to see it if anyone has a copy.

  • Paul.....David in North carolina....just found this video with your Dad singing. I remember your Dad giving me a signed album of Guys N Dolls....around 1975. regards to your Dad and Fleurie.

  • great track

  • im lovin this song at the moment.

  • One of my favourites of 1975. Love the piano at the beginning.

  • The song was a big debut hit for the British boy girl group "Guyds and Dolls" in March 1975. I remember it well being very poular at the school discos I used to attend in those days. When the group broke up, two of the members went on to form "Dollar" who had hits as a duo in the early 1980s

  • Thank you very much for uploading this, great memories from March 75 when it was released in the UK - been looking for it every where.

    Thanks again.

  • Tibbsy thanks, even though you didn't sing on this you were on the telly doing the miming and I have a lol for this in my heart...

  • Quick Question: Is there any kind of video of this song by Guys 'N' Dolls out there & if so could anyone please be kind enough to post it. Thank you.

  • It's been 32 years and three months since I last heard this song. I vaguely remember it coming out in August of 1975 when I entered my Freshman year in High school. Thank You You Tube!!

  • That was ... ... bizzar.

  • I don't understand why a video of ABBA was superimposed on this song--maybe it's because I'm not European. Anyway, this song is one of my faves. Back in the 70s in the US the MOR and AC stations would play promos of songs like this because they didn't have to adhere to the strict Top 40 format. This song only charted on the AC charts here was essentially unknown. Seems my musical tastes have always been more European. Anyway thanks so much for posting this great song.

  • Just did it for fun as explained on some of my other videos if your familiar.

There is no real reason, other than those that I think have an essence of ABBA be it in harmony, melody, or anything else.

I pick music that has meant something to me through my life when I had very little else.

The songs might just give me a flutter in the heart whenever I hear it or take me back to another time, I'm rambling now, hope that helps and thanks for the comment.

  • look under "six popstars" for the irish popstars doin dis track

  • Loved it, campness personified!

  • Nice song!!

** please check out my version and let me know what you think ;)

    Peace

  • You havent done a version that I can see.

  • Oh sorry I posted in the wrong page :S

    Sorry

    Peace

  • lol reminds me of school and youth club discos

  • El texto es de la página de Paul Griggs...

    Thanks for the video.

  • End of the 70's the Guys 'n' Dolls had this first hit in The Netherlands and many would follow. 2 Members, Julie Forsyth and Dominic Grant are still very active in singing and writing songs, under their artist name of 'Grant & Forsyth'. If you put dot com after their name you will find their website. I have never ever met nicer artists than Julie and Dominic before.

  • David Van Day and Thereze Bazar still do the odd Dollar reunions as well.

  • I loved it too it was number one for ages I think, when the extra voice comes in about 1.58 of the video, I distinctly remember that on the record and I thought I really like this and couldnt wait to hear it again.

  • Loved this when I was a kid but you've only told part of the story - what happened then?????????

  • Absolutely amazing what a great pop tune too.

  • The real guys can be found on youtube under,

    Guy's 'n Dolls There's A Whole Lot Of Loving
