  • Is Patrick O'hearn on the keys???

  • Comment removed

  • How do I not know this song? I had the album when I was a kid, (and probably somewhere around here right now,) and I do not remember this one, and there is no way I would have skipped listening to this one.

Oh yeah, for the young ones here, albums are like big round iPods that don't hold very much music, and had to be put into a big spinning box to be played.

  • Is that Warren Cuccurillo on the axe??

  • @fleekawadog yes it is.

  • This song kicks a**! great jam! Dale Bozzio is old enough to be LAdy Gaga's mom

  • Goku from Dragonball Z on drums......If you like Missing persons, you may like Quarterflash, though they were pretty much a one shot.

  • Yes, Dale is nowhere near the slutz that madonna and gaga are. :)

  • anyone know where the rest of the concert footage of this show is? looks like it was a full concert ?

  • Comparing Lady Gaga to Dale Bozzio is insulting to Dale and Missing Persons. First of all, we don't even know if Lady Gaga ever consciously copied Dale, and it's highly unlikely that Lady Gaga grew up listening to Missing Persons (she's too young to be a fan and Missing Persons were never a huge mainstream band). Second, there is no Missing Persons influence in Lady Gaga's music whatsoever. Her music is pure pop and her newer songs have more in common with Elton John than Missing Persons.

  • @avocate201 I just wish people would quit posting her dam name on every Missing Persons video, seriously she don't compare at all!

  • Terry Bozzio kicks absolute ASS on this song!

  • @jabold that's why he's at the front of the stage! you don't stick terry bozzio in the back!

  • What a F*CKING BABE!

  • This was a great L.A. band from the '80s. Sure, Dale had the Playboy bunny body and wore clear plastic bras and quirky outfits (please don't compare her to Lady Gaga), but this was a solid rock band made up of outstanding musicians. This song, in particular, really highlights Terry's drumming and Warren's cool guitar sound.

  • @avocate201 I thought they were always so underrated as a band. And, the comparisons with Gaga...she has NOTHING on MP and Dale Bozzio.

  • @TheUniversalWoman Yes, they were a great, underrated band. They had that quintessential New Wave look and sound, which was rare for American bands at the time. I know, I wish the comparisons to Lady Gaga would just stop already. The only time that I noticed any similarity between Lady Gaga and Dale Bozzio was when I saw saw the cover of Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" album, but that was a very remote, superficial similarity. Musically, they are totally different.

  • @avocate201 Well said!

  • @avocate201 I'm NO fan of Lady Blah Blah who essentially plagiarized Dale's look and style. I thought Terry did a really good job on drums--he truly was the energy of the band. I've seen later live performances of the later incarnation of Missing Persons (sans Terry) and the band's spark is definitely absent without him.

  • @avocate201 In NO WAY does this song highlight Terry's playing LOLZ!!!

  • @Scychful We all know that Terry is an amazing drummer who is capable of doing much more than what he plays here, but for an early-'80s New Wave song, this song has awesome drums. Terry's drums and Warren's e-bow sound really drive this song.

  • MILES better than Lady Gaga. In every conceivable way.

  • one of the best bands from L.A. AND she was in penthouse.

  • @89699sks : Actually, Hustler.

  • great song and video. I love the 80's

  • Do you see the glass chips on dale's cheeks?? Does Lady GaGa think we are all stupid?? Dale is the innovator..Lady CaCa is just a second rate copy cat who thought that no one would notice that she's ripping off other artist's work because it was so long ago. WE REMEMBER lady...we will ALWAYS REMEMBER! Damn it just makes me sick to see the CaCa on tv making millions as a copy-cat and a FRAUD!! I WILL TELL YOU TO YOUR FACE CACA...You're not Original...by any means! Debate me CaCA..I dare you!

  • ive never felt such kind of a warld berore my-TIME///

  • All members were ex Frank Zappa musicians except Dale. That means, all brilliant musicians. Way ahead of their time were not understood at the time.

  • @MrRenealexis : Dale was the voice of Mary in Joe's Garage. But the lead keyboardist, Chuck Wild, never did play for Zappa

  • lipsink

  • I think they were my first concert in 84 or 85ish at the Ventura County Fair. I wish they would get back together and start touring again like all the other 80s bands. They were supposed to be at Day of Decadence in San Jose area @ 1999, but cancelled and were replaced by Men at Work or something. grrrrrrrr.

  • oh this was the ORIGINAL GAGA / MADONNA SHE ROCKED.... I MISS HER AT THIS AGE AND TIME.... walked in on her doing coke off a table backstage to get an autograph in about 1998 at a little pourly attended show in Olympia, she looked great still but fuck she was pissed. :)O

  • Lady Gaga? Eat your heart out!! Dale Bozzio, the Queen of New Wave, is the definition of eclecticism in audio-art form, and she happens to have a knack for making bras out of everyday ordinary objects--true skill. Missing Persons were/are one the the most underrated bands of all time.

  • check those abs on dale holy shit

  • One person didn't get noticed.

  • Had the great experience of seeing their debut gig in a tiny little club, ages before they had any records out, as well as literally countless other early shows throughout Southern California at venues like Ichabods, The Whisky, Magic Mountain, Knotts, CSUN. They were always great fun, had tremendous energy, and ALWAYS kicked serious ass.

  • Hot DAMN this band COOKED!! I TOTALLY dig Terry's energy in the way he plays his drums! Then Dale...talk about a walking wet dream! Although Dale WAS WAYYYY more original than Lady Gagme, you DO have to give credit to W.O.W. [Wendy O' Williams from the Plasmatics, who was surely the very first 'rock shock' chick...Dale was just a LOT sexier...and not so skanky!

  • GAGA IS SHIT

  • There is nothing like the ORIGINAL thing......here it is....way before all the poser shit we have in the sorry year 2011 :(........Missing Persons IS the bomb. Rawk on.......

  • terry can play the drums in any style or flavor you like! zappa was anally perfectionist!

  • Dale and Terry Bozzio, ROCKED in "Missing Persons". Gee, ya think maybe Gwen and Lady Goo Goo took a few cues from Dale??

  • This song is phophetically mocking Lady Gaga

  • @jimislice GREAT observation!

  • This is the best random find ever.

  • Musically this trifecta couldn't be topped across the board. Blondie's act was huge and a close second in my opinion. Another talented bunch. My drumming started a few years earlier but Missing Persons was a blast to play. Rock on Universal!

  • If I was at that concert, they would of had to tie me down with chains to keep me from jumping her bones.

  • @rpscot I'd love to see her live...I've just never heard of it happening in Denver I guess. If it does, can someone email me with info? Thanks!

  • Dale Bozzio was nothing more than an absolute genius. She was way, way, way before her time. I do know she is still touring. While Ga Ga does have some talent or she wouldn't have gotten where she is, she will never be a match for Dale Bozzio and Missing Persons. Ga Ga should acknowledge them as a HUGE influence on her and quit her other "name dropping". I have always thought that Missing Persons was highly underrated. They could have used better management and a better label at the time.

  • I was a missing persons person. It was a movement back then! Do you remember this? The cops were dispatched to my house many times when I got behind the drums with the Persons going in the headphones,Fuck it I went for it in Terry fashion! Who could inspire you today to go for it like Terry used to and still does? Ha.. I give up!

  • @rocknrollhoocheecoo Yes! I totally remember. My friends were big into rock and not into "new wave" but I couldn't help myself. The hair, the clothes. Fantastic. This is the BESTEST MP song evah!

  • Anybody else notice those awesome abs @ 0:50??

  • @preciousbash +1 my darling...and this song pretty much says it all! I really wish MP were still around to show these pseudo musicians how it's really done. Most of their videos were done in a live vocal/band setting with very minimal (if any) sound tweaking. If only the average person knew what goes into making today's pop stars sound good on the radio...I swear it would shock them. It's so unfortunate that MP did not get the recognition they so deserved.

  • @enfuriae1 your correct todays music is crap to sum it up they are talentless hacks with no musical experise or genius.

  • @enfuriae1 Dale Bozzio still tours under the moniker of Missing Persons to this date. There are times when original members of the band join her and tours when it's all hired musicians.

  • This song&vid are so pivotal...so many in recent years have attempted to imitate, but at the end of the day they're all just generics. Dale is the real deal and she was cool before that term even came into existence. All you hating f*cks out there...you do realize that not only did she design and make all of her wardrobe, she also wrote all of her own lyrics. Missing Persons was a band...you know that thing that pop artists today don't have?

  • @enfuriae1 ...and failed miserabley..Ladyga-gag and all fakes...BOW DOWN!!! Missing Persons FOREVER!!

  • Music kicked ass in the 80s! They played instruments even. I loved missing persons. Back when Mtv was worth a shit! These guys had great vids along with many kick ass bands.

  • This sounds really fuckn good for live

  • Why can't pop/rock bands today have drummers, bass and guitar players this good?

  • @TommyboyGTP - because today's pop/rock bands have no talent.....

  • @TommyboyGTP Oh man how I ask this same question. I miss the Persons. Who knew that their name would come to be a cry for help. Missing Persons put out an all point bulliten. Wanted returnrd unharmed with instruments. Report as ASAP to the recording studio! Eurgent we need you back!

  • "Imitation is the purest form of flattery" - or something like that. I adore Dale/MP and was there when they were HOT. I think everyone knows that GaGa is showing admiration (and making money) - really no reason to diss GaGa. If anything, this may sell some old MP stuff/and or create a resurgence.

Same thing happened with Madonna and Debbie Harry for years. Debbie once said in an interview "the props are nice, but a check would be better."

  • I cherish my original vinyl wildly ;)

  • Funny no one seems to notice the guitar player. Without the guitar player you got a bunch of noise. Missing Persons guitar player kicks ass. What ever happened to him?

  • @todddoom Warren Cuccurullo was first noticed byFrank Zappa and after Missing Persons was noticed by Duran Duran. He is an interesting effects type guitar player.

  • @TheTiglathpilesar Intresting. Does that mean Warren Cuccurullo plays for Duran Duran? I don't think so. Andy Taylor did a fine job there. Still youtube is great for checking out bands. The band breaks up but the music lives forever. No one can take away my Missing Persons music.

  • @todddoom It does mean that Warren played with Duran Duran from 1989-2000.

  • masterpiece

  • With the pretty boobs she was sporting back then she was pretty noticeable!

  • THIS KICKS ASS

  • THE ORIGINAL LADY GAGA!!!!!! I saw them in the 80's and there was noone like her.....she had everything!!! Lady Gaga shoould pay homage to her.....DALE BOZZIO ROCKED......Gwen Stefani, Rhianna, Nikki, take notes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • gee i hate lip-synching.

  • Let this be a lesson to younger people who think people over 40 can't relate to them. You see, we had hot chick singers who wore clear Plexiglas bras too. Dale was WAY hotter too...

  • GaGa only dreams of being as cool, fashion-forward and rockin' as Dale Bozzio and Missing Persons. This songs kicks ass.

  • Warren on guitar is so HOT!

  • I had the privilege of seeing this concert in Raincross Square, San Bernardino, CA. 1984.

  • For Lady Ga-Ga!

  • Love Dale's little shimmy at 1:45.

  • Love Dale's little shimmy at 1:47.

  • excelente cancion!!!!mexico,,

  • wonderful Dale and M.P

  • Why all the Gaga bashing? Why not talk smack about Elton, Cher, Bowie, or Cyndi Lauper? Gaga's influences could of been any 1 or more of these people as well. & when 100 people are posting the same shit about how Gaga's not acknowledging Dale, or how she stole her gimmick, or whatever, it becomes stale. Say something original, or nothing at all & enjoy the fuckin music.

  • AWESOME!!!

  • @bassmanjoe I agree with you , I think Lady Gaga is an amazing talent . She never cease to amaze me . Dale Bozzio does not compare to her musically , actually I would compare Gewn Stephani more to a Dale !

  • @msdeadlymelons I still prefer Missing Persons as musicians and songwriters over Gaga and No Doubt anyday,

  • Hey man some 1 person hit the dislike button,I guess they wanted to be noticed!!!

  • Why are you guys hating on Lady Gaga? Sure there is an order to things....Deborah Harry, Kim Wilde, Terri Nunn, Dale Bozzio, Madonna, Gwen Stefani, Lady Gaga....They all owe something to those that came before them, but I LOVE THEM ALL because great music is great music....

  • PUT THAT IN YOUR LADY GA GA PIPE AND SMOKE THE BOZ Z IO GOO!

  • Great. I still love her

  • Missing Persons, Cars, Adam Ant, Men at Work! Love u guys..

  • still bad ass to THIS DAY!!!

  • que buena rola!!!!!!!

  • she is way before her time. Lady Ga Ga is a poser

  • @tommymingo100 Yeah!!!!!!

  • en mexico se escucha bastante!!!

  • Dale is amazing both today and back in the day! I saw her live back in 2008. I even got my pic taken with her, and got her autograph!

  • like in the song she (a cultural leader and create all the fads and make all the scenes) (Lady gaga/Copy cat) will never be Dale in any way thank you.

  • 1:04 PATRICK O-HEARN! :D

  • Shut the fuck up and enjoy the fucking music! Justin Gagga..........SHHHHHH!

  • @rekkof OH sorry Gaga.....

  • Dale has a powerful voice and her music is so Awesome! Very original and fun and enjoyable. Missing Persons YOU ROCK! \m/

  • Lady Gaga copied her !

  • @msdeadlymelons

Ga Ga TOTALLY copied Dale BIG TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is THE real deal! 80s NEW WAVE

  • @msdeadlymelons Lady GaGa copied her with image but thats it, not talent wise. This is real pro musicians who know how to write great songs...

  • Damn, I Love this song. Always liked Terry's set up like this. Dig it.

  • @debgibsonfan oh yeah, it can be done.....lets just say i know for a fact

  • Kick ass song....one of the greatest albums/bands ever.

  • PROOF, I HAVE PROOF that LADY CACA, is a farce, a rip off artist, a fake, a biter, She tries to look exactly like Dale Bozzio, she probably had posters of her on the wall, she probably dug thru her garbage. Original my butt

  • @halcyon180

LOL! Man that's funny and so true. Gagme is nothing but a wanna be Dale!

  • Her legs are like the Twin Towers.. gorgeous, allmost identical and after a lot of years there isn't much left of it (sadly).

  • thank you frank zappa

  • what a great post! Thanks!!!

  • I don't even have to say who has completely ripped Dale's style. Well I take that back she might have not done it intentionally.

  • great rock and a social conciousness underestimated....

  • Great music always transcends its period. There are so many interesting things going on in this song. And the way she uses her voice--wow. (The rest of the band is great too.)

  • Actually saw this concert in Riverside, CA. Such an underrated band and album!

  • she had a funky voice---a playboy model actually with talent---i luv her!!!

  • Wow and earlier version of Lady Gaga with talent!!!

    AWESOME!!!!

  • They were 30 years ahead of their time, so fucking innovative and fresh sounding!! One of my top 5 favorite bands from that period!! This song rocks the hell out, love it!!!!!!

  • What is wrong with you people. If you want mention Gagag please do it elsewhere!! THIS IS WHERE WE TALK ABOUT MISSING PERSONS!! GAG CAN"T HANG IN THE RELM OF DALE and the band is and always was the shit!!! Look at the 6 pack and this bitch( said with love and respect..Love the hair, the style, the vocals, the music.

Frank Zappa would have laughed at GAGY DUMB HAG so NO MORE TALK ABOUT HER/IT....GRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

  • Definitely where Lady Gaga got her inspiration...No Dount about it

  • patrick o'hearn and warren cucarillo (keys & guitar) also were in Zappa w/bozzio...

  • @letorch yes they were

  • @letorch yes they were.warren even got his name mentioned in catholic girls

  • @letorch yes they were.warren even got his name mentioned in catholic girls.

  • Imagine you're 16, epic summer day, riding in a convertible, heading to the beach, with this song blasting. I loved them in the 80's and still love them for how they take me back and make me feel so BAD ASS.

  • @TheUniversalWoman

COULD NOT AGREE MORE!! THSI SI STRUTTING MUSIC BABY!!!

  • if you pause it at 0.01 - i would love that picture framed - style grace beauty its art

  • SHE LOOKS LIKE LADY GAGA, OR LADY GAGA LOOKS LIKE HER!

  • The incredible Missing Persons! Lady Gaga eat your heart out!

Dale Bozzio (lead vocal) was light years ahead of her time - and so was the rest of the band. A true original sound that has been imitated but not duplicated since then. The drummer (terri bozzio) also played in Frank Zappa's band in the 1980s

Saw them LIVE in 1988 at the Michigan Theatre in Ann Arbor, MI. (Yep. I'm old)

I wish they would come back around someday - but I suppose it isn't likely to happen.

  • @typhoolin Cuccurullo also played with Zappa but it was in the 70's not 80's

  • Terry bozzio = genius !! listen to the very last note...He does a flam between his bass drum and snare/hi hat clench...hard ? no..... nobody else would think of that ?? YES !!

  • damn, this video has zero dislikes, nice

  • eat ur fuckin heart out gaga u suck , this is the one and only of her kind

  • Yep, Frank Zappa. That's a real artist.

  • great . thanks for the vid, sound and audio great

  • Exactly, Lady Gaga wishes.

  • She's awesome!

Is this where Lady Gaga gets her "new" image? Hahaha

  • look at the figure on this chick! absolutely awesome! great voice-love missing persons!

  • what a song what a babe and what a bod love ya dale forever

  • Lady gaga eat your heart out!

  • Dale Bozzio just rocks it no matter what.

  • One of their best songs!

  • no lady gaga here she is what she is

  • Hello! Lady Gaga!!!! notice the similarity!!!

  • @rpalagy How dare you compare this new wave Goddess to Lady GaGa!!

  • She's definitely a "Noticeable One", I mean how can you not notice someone as eccentric and cool-looking as her? lol.

  • @WoodRatGirl oh dear God I had such an unhealthy desire to have this woman back in the 80's.

  • @DallasaDanny

I think alot of men did lol. To be honest, I only just heard of her and the band Missing Persons this year, when a Missing Persons vid was mentioned and recommended to me in my "Recommended Videos" section on YouTube.

    So thx YouTube!

Also I have nothing against Lady Gaga (yes gasp! I like her, so shoot me :P) but Dale Bozzio is so different to her, and she came first of course.

  • Tremendous band... New wave with unbelievable players, and one of rock's best drummers ever.

  • @Tigerbabysob You've got that right. You've got to be a virtuoso to have played in Frank Zappa's band.

  • @EdwoodCA THREE players from Zappa's band... People who slag them off as another new wave band have to listen closely. Listen to the time changes in "US Drag", these players were MONSTERS.

  • wonder who did Lady Gaga copy? hahaha wonder no more!

  • @msimoni

I don't think this is who lady gaga copied. I don't think Gaga copied one person. I think she branched out and took the best from several older artists. Its why shes so successful.

  • BITCHIN!!!!!!

  • what a great band and sound dale was awesome and and hot !!!!!

  • I like this kit Terry's that used to play. That 20" Sound Creation Dark China with the 14" 505 hi-hat stacked on top sounded real wicked. Very cool set. One of my favorite drummers.

  • Probably one of the unsung heroes. Great drummer!

  • Lady Gaga is the second coming of this singer.

  • @alittlebitscary ... well dale was not ever a male and

missing persons had musical talent... so no! not at all

  • @alittlebitscary You talk out your ARSE retardo!!!! ;)

  • Studio version, canned applause. I've listened to it enough over the years to know :)

  • she got a cool six pack

  • Actually, this is the studio recording. Watch the vocals and drums carefully. Wish I could hear the live performance, though!

  • looks live to me - drums and vocals are on, the cymbal hits are on time - maybe it got tweeked in a studio to soften ambiant sounds since you can hear a crowd in the begining

  • Really a very tight performance, a great mix, everyone is together and VERY into the music

  • this song kicks ass

  • Years ahead of your time. Love this stuff :~}
