  • omg freakin awesome its like being in fleury's head

  • was there originally audio from the game in the video?

  • Why do goalies do what they do at 1.30? I see all goalies do it? Is it to keep the ice smooth or something?:)

  • @KingKonk95 Traction I believe. I've seen our ECHL team goalie do it, and he tears up the ice where he stands every new period.

  • @KingKonk95 They actually do not want the ice to be smooth, they want the ice to be rough so they can control themselves as they slide.

  • amazing how fast the d-men take the rebounds...

  • awesome look on the game. wish theyd do this in the NHL. thatd be awsome

  • this is cool ;P

  • i wanna were a cam that would be funny but i see the game a little different in net

  • good video shitty music

  • Were they playing Lowell?

  • @NiMROD416 nope, albany

  • @rockangel16 thanks!! :D

  • very cool

  • This is the coolest video, I've always wondered what the game looks like from the goalie's perspective. Fleury is definitely my favorite goalie!!!

  • he doesn't even have to look at the puck to save it.

  • its a helmet cam, it doesnt pick up exactly when his eyes move so hes looking down more with his eyes

  • @arandomperson240

if you think about it the camera must be a few inches from his eyes, which can move independently of the direction that the camera is facing. so he actually follows the puck all the way to his glove for instance with his eyes, but the camera doesn't pick that up

  • great ut to long

  • Awesome!!!

  • that was cool. i hope they make a first-person view like this for the goalie on nhl 10 or nhl 11.

  • I didn't know that they had Helmet cams.

  • damn, now i kinda got an idea how would it feel if id ever make it to the nhl, hah, guess i can just keep training nd hoping for the best..

  • This is an AHL game bud. Just so you know.

  • the jerseys look like nhl but i can make it out. looks like the shit he wears for pens games but i cant tell.

  • It's the AHL farm team to the Pens. The WBS Baby Pens.

  • the oppositin almost looks like panthers jerseys.....

  • All Hail The Flower!!!!!

  • kul! how did you get the video?

  • Gotta love the Yellow KOHO pads. NHL needs to let a goalie do this again.

  • No dude Fleury got rid of them himself. He got a note from a eye doctor from Ottawa telling him how the yellow pads gave other players an advantage on him on breakaways.

  • I was saying the NHL needs to let a goalie wear a camera again.

  • oh... I feel like i wasted a whole lot of time.

  • or maybe the players

  • The Yellow KOHO pads sucked The Yellow Reeboks were best

  • @BlitzKriege35 They still let goalies do that but Fleury was advised by a doctor while being treated for an injury that yellow is attracted to the bright color of Fleury's pads when shooting.

  • intense shit

  • i remember when fleury wore this in a game,

    he made an amazing save

we got to the helmet cam look at the save to

  • did he get a shutout

  • i remember watching this on the nhl network.. they had a whole hour of this on it. it was pretty cool

  • how did u do that

  • I wish they would do stuff like this more often, great video.

  • ya i kno i luv this

  • Definitely some great footage. too bad HD wasn't as prevalent back then. It's like cellphone quality video now lol. It's cool to see how he was in the minors and now arguably one of the top 5 goalies in the NHL

  • id love to be MAF

  • I want one of those for my mask =)

  • I miss those yellow pads they were so awesome

  • thats crazy they have to slow it down so you can just see the puck.

  • It actually looks faster in real life, I was at a camp with a few high level players (AHLers and semi-pros) and I couldn't see the puck in between their stick and the net (then again now I got glasses)

  • i was sitting right behind the net for the last game and when the puck hits the glass it leaves a puck shaped circle .

  • 1:15 he thinks it's in

  • marc andre fleury is the the best! Its cool how we can see things from his perspective. :D go penguins!

  • was the cam attached to the chin of his mask?

  • Outstanding stuff! Thanks for the post. I think I saw some old school shots of Whit and Scuds in there too.

  • The only camera that can get the best angle on every shot....

  • Thats sick XD

  • I don't beleive this. I think it's a fake. Pretty cool tho.

  • Don't read my last comment. I thought it was fake until I realized it was the baby pens.

  • GIVES you a sense of yourself as a NHL goalie.

    Check my channel out!!

  • love this vid, I think I was there the night he did this they announced it over the speakers, it was amazing.

    love u marc-andre!

    lets go penguins!!

  • Great video. Give's you a great idea what they do and makes you wonder how they do it. Glad to have him back up and kickn' the sens ass.

  • Glad he did this, could'nt give a better perspective on what us goalie's see ^.^

  • apparently he has white pads now, I cant wait till he plays his next game with them :D

  • Actually the camera is outside of the mask. It's mounted on the neck of the mask. The dangler is over it.

  • "he WAS the first to use the MODERN helmet cam that is mounted inside of the helmet itself. The old model, mounted outside of the helmet, was used by John Vanbiesbrouck in an All Star Game"

    Taken from the video description

  • yep its pretty cool what we goalies see

  • Awesom video I could watch it over and over again.

  • Me too, that's why it's in my favorites list

  • This video is awesome. Through the eyes of a goalie. wow

  • yeah i was about to say.. that didnt look lik the penguins thanx for puttin that on the discribtion most ppl are to lazy

  • song?

  • Danger Zone By Kenny Loggins .. from top gun lol

  • Fleury Rocks!

  • he is not! hes having a bad start off.. fleury rox

  • i like how he s

  • THat's awesome man.

  • i wish they did that with EVERY goalie

  • hes scraping the ice so its easier to save the pucks in the crease area.

  • what is he doing at 01:27 - 01:40???

  • Scratching up the ice. I do it in most rinks because otherwise if I try and slide in the crease I go way too far and fast.

  • chopping up the ice in the crease so he doesnt slide as much

  • thats pretty sick, how did u get the footage

  • it was made by the wbs penguins for a pre-game video. they had it online, i downloaded it, and instead of storing it on my computer, i stuck it here. so its not really mine, but i wish it was.

  • ya know- ya could have said that fleury's- like- your cousin or somthing...... and just included the truth as a P.S. or somthing....

  • it looks unreal like someone created this video with 3d graphics

  • Ya, Vanbiesbrouck already did this, about ten years ago in an allstar game while with the panthers.

  • i know, i already replied to the first guy who brought it to my attention. but thanks though.

  • Yep, 1996 in Boston.

  • very nice video, but he sees a lot of things we cant see ourselves.

  • Now you know what being a goalie is like. i know cuz i play goalie. cool video

  • me too, and I have the same pads as him so its like im playing in the show!

  • I dont like the song to this video but the video is cool

  • I am now one with the M-A-F

  • hes wasnt the first to wear a helmet cam...unless your talking about the first to wear during that YEAR....john vanbreibruke(sp?) had a cam in his helmet as well...

  • i should reword my little spiel... i know there have been other goalie cams that were mounted on the outside of the helmet, but marc was the first one to test out the modern prototype for what goalies wear now for all the high-def games on NBC. the artice i found it in is here: http://www.photogslounge.net/infocus126.html i just think its cool that in the picture they use, the arena is my home arena lol. but thanks for drawing it to my attention :-)
