For 2 straight years I consistently used the most potent medical marijuana available to treat a stomach disease I have. Eventually I quit because I didn't need to continue using it anymore, and I had no problems doing so. Saying this is addictive is complete BS, and anybody claiming marijuana is addictive doesn't know what they are talking about.

Well based on liberal estimates it would cost about 25 dollars to grow one pound of quality medical cannabis in large scale production, legally. Once you add the initial markup, production cost, packaging, transportation etc.. you still only add maybe $70 per pound, add on top of that retail mark up, & sales tax, you'd only wind up paying between 58-65 dollars an ounce,with that extra $50 tax, & that's for the good stuff mind you.

For 2 straight years I consistently used the most potent medical marijuana available to treat a stomach disease I have. Eventually I quit because I didn't need to continue using it anymore, and I had no problems doing so. first of all the reason for the respiratory problems is tghe fact that it is enhaled smoke, if you use a vapouriser the threat of cancer and respiration difficulties is not only nullified, its helped. as for the drug cartels, ofcourse theyre not going to stop, but marijuana is responsible for more than 50% of their revenue, if they loose that, they will become seriously more inactive as they lack the funding they once had. as for the kids, i think the guy nailed the argument .

Well based on liberal estimates it would cost about 25 dollars to grow one pound of quality medical cannabis in large scale production, legally. Once you add the initial markup, production cost, packaging, transportation etc.. you still only add maybe $70 per pound, add on top of that retail mark up, & sales tax, you'd only wind up paying between 58-65 dollars an ounce,with that extra $50 tax, & that's for the good stuff mind you.

ohhhh. yeah, in the legal market it wouldnt be that much, like i said, but yeah. take out all of the inflation and stuff and you probably would be that % over... which is ridiculous. $50 tax is crazy. why cant they just picture it like tobacco and treat it exactly the same. They should stop trying to make up their own system when there is already one that would work just fine....

I used to be like that too,but I wandered what it was about & decided to give it a try, I even researched it before smoking it (I'm a nerd) before I even tried it I had to question why it should be illegal, also used to fall into the a fourth category the we would lose the benefits of the illegal market (ie lots of jobs) group , but long term that doesn't make sense.

According to the last zogby poll it was 56% in favor, 36% opposed. I asked people what it was like before, every one said it couldn't be described, the best description I've found was Carl Sagan's essay. I know the legal market would create jobs, but most people don't realize, maybe they don't want to realize how much of our economy actually relies on prohibition.

It's hard to keep track of to be honest (being illegal) but think about it, cannabis is responsible for 2.7% of our GDP alone, add 60% cut in DEA spending, loss of jobs in the court system, prisons,"treatment centers", local law enforcement, Probation officers. Then add in the side industries that benefit like grow light manufacturers, urine analysis labs, UA test cheaters, All in all we might be looking at 3-5% of our GDP, maybe more.

Well, not necessarily. your saying we cut dea spending? that would save us money. but we dont have to, they COULD just spend the 60% on enforcing other drug laws. if thats what your saying, basically all of the stuff you listed doesnt rely solely on marijuana. There will still be all of that stuff just for things besides marijuana. It makes me wonder if 52% are for and only 37 against then WHY is it still illegal???? im sure its not that much from MJ alone. treatment centers will still have alcohol and tobacco and other drugs to be used at, or maybe for marijuana if it was legal, who knows. I dont think anyone honestly does that though. grow light manufacturers arent even supposed to be getting money for marijuana growin anyway since its illegal, but i think it would go UP. someones still gonna need the lights to grow it. i cant imagine people wanting to buy bulk outdoor stuff since it would be lower quality

The primary diagnoses for people in treatment is "marijuana addiction" 80+% are there for legal reasons in reality. You can grow dank out doors, as well as indoors, as well as growing it in greenhouses, the main reason people grow indoors is to avoid detection it's has little to do with quality.

yeah thats what i was getting at, that they are forced to do it. I know you can but if you have a big buisness growing like that its never going to be as good because they arent going to be as through. it does have a bit to do with quality because you can control every factor about the enviornment. and keep bugs away. also, i doubt any plants would be safe outdoors even if it was legalized. like ifyou have a garden in your yard.

That doesn't affect quality. Failure, take a class in horticulture.

I disagree that the government is supposed to do what the people want, I think it should do what's best for the people, unfortunately in our democracy politicians do what they believe will get them elected.
It isn't legal yet for 2 reasons 1) This is the first year the majority was in favor of it, & 2) the 37% is much more adamant about it, most would never support a candidate that was in favor of legalization, whilst those on our side will support a candidate that is against legalization.

I not only disagree, but I know the US government was based on the principle that what's best for the people should be done not what the people want(Electoral college)& if the gov did do their job & do whats best they wouldn't have outlawed alcohol in the first place. The 57% do have more power, but choose not to use it, the 37 have less power but are adamant about using it. It will be made legal,not in the next two years probably but within the decade IMP.

Well yeah, but alot of the times presidents and stuff say something along the lines of how it is their duty to do what the people want when it is such a large number. Just learned about it in my gov. class, but you get what im saying. Yes, when the people dont KNOW about it they do what is "best" but when the people say I want this, and its a large majority they should be able to do it and can. I really do hope its legal. Yet theres still people who act crazy about it saying how horrible it is..
