Awesome lead voice. And the 4 guys sound terrific. Without dismissing their 'Brooklyn' roots, let's not forget Manhattan where I grew up singing during the 1940's-1950's and where I lived around the corner from Mary Lymon and her three sons, Frankie, Lewis and Timmy, where I often saw the Teenagers and Teenchords. And where Pete Graves of the Moonglows, Buzzy Willis of the Solitaires, Earl Carroll and Charlie Brooks, hung out near the Audubon Ballroom.
This was the best rendition I ever heard!I think it's better than the original. These guys brought tears to my eyes.I remember this song when I was in th Air Force and these guys were hanging around the orderly room steps, mind you this was 1977,I was always into doo wop and they sang this song.During Disco Days!! Cool!!!!
Fantastic version of this classic song sung by by almost every group-----this particular rendition stands apart from the rest because Stevie really puts his heart into the lead vocal and I would recognize his singing anywhere. "Rock and roll may be here to stay but doowop never went away"
Fantastic Job. I've watched every other version of You Tube and this is by far the best version. Period. They could pull all the others off today and no one whose seen this would even notice

These guys are great. But, to me, the best person singing this song is Manhattan Transfer. He is perfection. Check him out.
