His talents would have gone to waste in a team like the OKC, of course he's going to develop his jumper sooner or later but the thunder drafterd based on need, and they needed a guard that could shoot(Thabo is not a good shooter).

Tyreke Evans may not be the most athletic guard in the NBA but he is one of the most craftiest guards in the league. At 6'5 with a 7'3 wingspan you can not teach that at all. He gets to the basket whenever he wants to and he is a walking triple double. He already has my vote for Rookie of the Year! You don't have to be athletic to be success in the NBA.

He will be fine. He and Martin should compliment each other. The Kings have not had a large sized, penetration and finishing threat since Richmond. Even then Richmond relied on his jumpshot first. Shooting needs work but can create his own shot and require consistent rotations off of his drives and pre dribble and positional double teams which would open the game for his teammates.
