More marketing than anything methinks. Imagine you're designing this thing with very limited space and you have about a 1mm x 1mm square on one side length of a business card. Your production budget also has about .03 cents left. Finally, your boss and the marketing geniuses are screaming for another "tool" to beat the competition's number.

Build a mini-survival kit, you'll understand when you throw in a couple "Band-Aids". They hardly take up any space and have a use.
