Nintendo games such as Zelda and Metriod are in the grey area. The only game that marketed towards kids that I play is Pokemon simply for the competitive nature that kids under 14 don't seem to get. However, it's sad for any person over 17 involved in this console war shit and in flame wars. About the girls, the easy solution is that you have to get girls that are nerdy to some degree that wouldn't mind a Mario poster.

Being 17 i love to go back and play games from my childhood. I love Pixar movies and dreamworks as well. Pokemon is awesome. Zelda is one of the best franchises ever. Well, obviously there are more titles on the Wii than Mario or Zelda, but the Wii was a system for the casual gamer. We hardcore gamers bought the other two consoles because they have titles that we would enjoy better. I don't think you can ever be too old for any game, as in technicality, but I do think that if you find the Wii a good console that you don't get to have an opinion on any video game debate.

There is nothing wrong with loving something because it touches your heart. Zelda and Mario games strike a chord with the blissful and simple enjoyment of video games with these folks who remember what it was like to not rage at people over internet connections. Maybe those Pixar movies invigorate their subconscious with images of happiness and a calming satisfaction in life as opposed to the chaos and fear ravaging the planet. It's all preference. One day I'm playing MW3 & whatever with friends. Another day I'm by myself playing some nostalgic as fuck OoT3D Mirrored Master Quest without the book. Shits fun either way.

Those PS Vita sales? yeah, one territory. After christmas shopping season. After a monster hunter game released on another platform. Without any Japanese focused games. Selling as well as it did with those factors is a miracle.
By this time next year, the Vita will be a huge success with plenty of sales to back it up. Oh, and lets not forget how badly the 3DS sucked for an entire 9 months. In fact, more awesome games will be on Vita at launch than are on 3DS in 2012 period

I'm 22 and I love the Mario Bros games, in fact I got Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 which is 2 of the only 5 games I got on Wii (Wii is a big waste of money)
Though I believe the Wii is garbage, but I have all 3 systems and its clear that Wii is more "family oriented" I like Zelda somewhat too I got like 3 Zelda games, never beat any of them, I believe Mario Bros is timeless, I personally like PS3 and 360's games better though.

Being 17 i love to go back and play games from my childhood. I love Pixar movies and dreamworks as well. Pokemon is awesome. Zelda is one of the best franchises ever. Well, obviously there are more titles on the Wii than Mario or Zelda, but the Wii was a system for the casual gamer. We hardcore gamers bought the other two consoles because they have titles that we would enjoy better. I don't think you can ever be too old for any game, as in technicality, but I do think that if you find the Wii a good console that you don't get to have an opinion on any video game debate.

If you watch Pixar movies, than you can't hate on Nintendo games for being "kiddy" since that would in-effect make you hypocritical.
Pixar movies are aimed at kids, yet grown men pay to go see them and end up enjoying them.
And really, a lot of Nintendo franchises aren't kid-friendly. Zelda, Metroid, and F-Zero are VERY hard franchises. Ever played Punch Out!! on the Wii? One of the hardest games this gen.

I can sit here all day every day and play those old Mario games and I don't feel like a child. The last Mario game I played was for the N64 and I enjoyed it. But I can't sit here and say I've been remotely interested in playing any new games of Mario or other Nintendo only games. Nintendo is aimed at children. That doesn't mean that grown men can't enjoy their games on that system. But I will admit that when you compare that to ps3 or 360 as a grown man...it's kind of weird to me.

I'm having a contest with my 7yr old on some Mario Kart, that is fun, but I play BF3 and Halo those type games. My wife thinks I'm a nerd when she sees me with my headset and doin call outs etc. but that's ok.

I dont think Dora and Mario are good comparisons. Dora is obviously carted to very young(infant-like) minds. Mario might be a G rated experience but the only thing it is guilty of is still having the same formula from 30 years ago when the only games were out were of this style. Same with Zelda. It's Nintendo's style, but I wouldnt say it's akin to Nick JR type shit. Idk this one is a slippery slope...

Short answer=yea its cool for anybody to enjoy what they enjoy as long as they dont hurt nobody. I know a few grownass men who will only buy Nintendo products based merely off nostalgia. So u call Zelda and Mario kiddy but they offer some of the deepest most immersive experiences in gaming still... dont let the SD graphics fool ya. That's like saying grownasses shouldn't watch cartoons. People say that's childish...everything somebody does you might agree with but it aint wrong.

IKR wii sports was fun for a min but damn i aint tryna go back nd play mario sunshine. Just dont spark my interest no more. I rather compare Nintendo to Pixar then Dora the explorer.. I see what u saying but I really dont agree. I dont think that a game like battlefield or cod are more mature then an typical Nintendo game (mario and zelda). An 4-5 hours campaign vs 30-40, shoot everything u see vs gameplay where u have to solve a problem.... what do u think sounds most mature.??

well lol i wouldnt say that i look down on anyone no matter what type of games they're into. as adults my husband and i would rather play grown games, yes but certainly, all old school characters AND their games have a place in our home and a place in the gaming community. but i agree that i'd rather play the games i played with my kids WITH my kids rather than without them. my 6 yr old son would tell me about myself if i did LOL

I agree. I only play the wii with my girlfriend and my 9 year old daughter, they love it. I think its boring as shit but nintendo used to be my thang back in the day. I'm 31 now and game on pc and 360 now.
