i play the violin, and i think its terribly hard to play that legendary solo in violin, just imagine how high those notes and how fast you need to play them... and that part of the violin is where u just have to move ur fingers slightly to play a scale...

well, it is impossible to do "tapping" on a violin/ cello, because tapping is a technique for guitar. but all that tapping is, at least in this song, is a style that allows for fast, spread out arpeggios, which is completely possible on violin/cello. i play it all the time.

Hold the guitar to your chin and use a violin bow to flick the strum bar. Might feel a little awkward but with a little imagination you could make it work.

And unless you have freakishly long arms I'd suggest one of the guitars that has the solo buttons near the bottom of the neck ;)
