@Gopheur That egg was called duck eggs. In Chinese we bury the eggs in a large crock that's been layered and lined with garden soil, and then store in a cool dry place for 3-4 months. And putting ingredients include a blend of equal parts of ash from charcoal, pine wood, and fireplace, along with salt and strong black tea. And cut in wedges and serve with sweet pickled vegetables or a sauce of vinegar, soy sauce, rice wine, and minced ginger. Yum!!! It totally delicious!!!
@EndlesslyEchoes Hey lighten up asshole. Atleast they're brave enough to eat it and post their funny reactions on youtube. I bet you wouldn't even eat it because your a wimp. So why dont you get a life? And why did you even click this? So you could leave an asshole comment like a douche?
@EndlesslyEchoes Holy shit man, you are way too hype. We knew that they aren't actually 100 years old. A 100yr old egg isn't even possible. We didn't name the fucking things. They aren't called Day or Two Limestone eggs.
We can't be sellouts. We have nothing of value, asshole.
Remember Endlessly Echoes. It's better to keep your mouth closed and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt. Fuckwit.
@Gopheur Who, that Endlessly Echoes Clown? I suspected. Those damn, dirty, Canucks. They're always being rude and unfriendly. It think it's the syrup.
You should try beondegi, korean stewed and seasoned silkworm pupae. They smell really delicious and taste good (if you don't remind yourself that they are insects)
love century eggs~~ Would try it with teochew porridge or even hongkong century egg with lean meat porridge. The taste will be quite overwhelming if you try to eat it on its own
my mum once told me after i told her the guy from 'fear factor' introduced the century egg..he said "it has been fermented for 100 yrs!!"...my mum's respond was "100 days is more than enuff"...
Its actually called a century egg, but its been marinated for 100 days or less actually. And you got to eat it with plain porridge, not eat the whole egg like that... :P
Duck eggs that are covered in clay, salt, lime and rice straws with the shell on for a few weeks to produce a gelatin like egg white and a creamy egg yolk.
If it really takes 100 years to make, they'd cost A LOT more money. LOL.
Also, you shouldn't be eating these eggs as a whole. You should be cutting it into pieces and spreading it out on other dishes. Eating it whole is like eating salt.
Durian, Century Eggs, these are typically normal foodstuffs. Yet programmes like Fear Factor seem to exaggerate and therefore enforce the long-believed stereotype of "strange" asian food.
It tastes bad because
1) You didn't prepare it properly
2) Your mind tells you its disgusting, it tells you how it was prepared in the most disgusting manner, and therefore when you eat it you expect it to be bad. And then it really becomes what you think it is.
Nah, I don't think so. Even if I thought it looked great and thought it was prepared in an awesome way, I still wouldn't like it. Also, I hadn't heard of durian before then, and that isn't prepared in any kind of way. If you don't grow up eating this stuff, it tastes terrible. I'm sure I could get used to it, just like anything else. I'd just rather not.
Nope, that shit is gross. I've known quite a few Thai and Lao friends that wouldn't touch the stuff, either and they grew up around the things. The yolks in those eggs smells foul too - like sulphur and ammonia.
Wow..you know what the egg you ate was the good quality one...cos the yolk was liquidized that we chinese like it so much. You should have ate it with ginger. I don't know why many non-chinese people say it taste like shit.
They taste like boiled eggs. I have often given them to blindfolded friends who say boiled egg. Then when they see them refuse to eat them. It's all social-psychological conditioning. I love them, with chilli sauce!
Hey, listen asshole, I know they aren't 100 years old. I don't mind when people call me a "gay idiot", but not when they are complete dorks, like yourself. I checked your account out, and I suggest you delete it. No one cares about your stupid roller coasters and you suck at finger-boarding.
Wow that's all I have to say is just wow lol
