  • yaaaayaaaa i got this shit i just needa practice ALOT MORE lol thnx :)

  • Wow really great lesson...its a easy song but you really covered a lot of things I feel most wouldn't.

  • your the man! electric guitars rock

  • really great lesson ,thank you :D

  • sir you have helped a stoner kid to learn his first greenday (and first ever) song on guitar....thank you kind sir

  • ggood lesson but this song is so easy if u can't figure this out on your own u really are tone deaf but ur good keep makin tutorials man!

  • @austinarnold65 he is teaching, and he got the chords right, and he really isnt fat, Ive seen, fat, he is not fat, lol, just go to freaking walmart to see fat people.

  • @austinarnold65 hate much

  • Comment removed

  • I taught this song to a class of little kids.

  • dude!!you are so kick ass!! you got more how to play vids?

  • thanks this video was really helpful

  • I love the carpet! xD

  • I love the carpet! =)

  • this is like a repeat of my guitar lessons *Palm smack* even same song

  • nice playi thanks took me like 10 mins to learn

  • U only play the two lowest strings for the power chords?

  • @twistedfoostinks1234 no. a power chord will have the root note at your pointer finger and then two frets down you play the fifth and fourth strings, so the first chord would be 5, 7, 7 on the 6th, 5th, and 4th strings respectively. there could be other versions and variations that he's using, or he simply didn't mention the 4th fret for some reason

  • @twistedfoostinks1234 3 lowest strings

  • Es muy facil la cancion pero me sirvio de mucho...gracias!!

  • thnk u so much man

  • Great tutorial. Really helped. I rocked too hard on it and popped a string like 3 times while plain the bridge and the end sooo.... Thank you Thank youThank youThank youThank youThank youThank youThank youThank youThank youThank youThank youThank youThank youThank youThank youThank youThank youThank youThank youThank youThank youThank youThank youThank youThank youThank you

  • thanks bro it really helped

  • YAAY!!

  • what should the tuning be for the guitar and amp?

  • my guitar keeps the notes ringing, how do i mute it?

  • @guitargod56476 Palm muting and muting with the fretting hand at the same time.

  • People take too long teaching these thing when they have to explain what a power chord is. Just tell us what to play- 5 on E, 7 on A- it's that simple! People who don't get it need to go back and learn the basics before they try playing these songs anyway!

  • @Wuvdeer Except that this is a really easy song to play, so it's good for *suprise* beginners. This is the basics.

  • thank you very much for upload

  • WOO HOO! Great instructions, helps that you say where every finger goes on the string and fret. Most instructor videos don't do that, they just show you.

  • are you strumming all of the notes?

  • YOURE AMAZING,

  • how do you do the ending of this song?

  • @CQDeals i now rite

  • How do actually play the whole song. How times to play those power and then add mute and so on ?

  • if you look closely there's a bear staring at

    you through the video, scary

  • finally a full song i can play thanx 2 u and someone elts who went in to detail but when u muted the strings i did not know u had to do that but thanxs 2 u i do now

  • thank you so much man!!!!!!! I use power chords the whole song except for the fast part i think it sounds better just using the E string for that part

  • It's easier just to move your ring finger to play the Em instead of moving your index finger back up. And no, you play the 3 lowest strings (6,5,4) I don't mute A. Unless the song calls for muting A/D

  • yea u gotta have a stratocaster i think

  • say my name by sick puppies uses the exact riff

  • ThAnks

  • what tune is the guitar in

  • ive just bought a stratocaster, and because of you ,i can play this classic riff!!!!!!!!!

  • Incredibly easy to play for such a good song

  • this was fantastic. seriously helped me. thanks.

  • awesome lesson really simple

    thanks

  • great lesson

  • It's even easier in Drop D. All you do is barre frets 6, 4, 3, 2 and 1 repeatedly.

  • @cfdemarco it's even easier when your not even playing it nigger

  • do you only strum on the first two strings?????

  • you strum E, A, and D (3)

  • how do you get that effect on your guitar because mine sounds all clean

  • everyting full power exept the volume :P

  • @SnickerDoodIes2 hey snicker get a guitar processer with built in sounds and sounds you can program or a distortion pedal or a stack or good amp with distortion

  • you have to use a distortion pedal or get a amp which has pre- amp knobs on them

  • @SnickerDoodIes2 you need either an overdrive on you amp or a distortion pedal man

  • sweet thanks!

  • Well done, now I know how to play it on the guitar thanks to you m8, well done

  • since i have an epiphone studio 15R amp and i got it in a beginners pack when i play brain stew it will sound different right?

  • @allama98 dosent really matter just max out gain. Or get a pedal that will always sound right

  • I should play it with 3 fingers, not only 2...

    but the chords are right!

  • yeah you numpty . . . . wtf is a numpty?

  • numpty is what you call someone who does something dumb. like calling someone a muppet.

  • This is very, very helpful! Got it right away!

  • Its not a mute its Harmonics

  • Is the strumming down down, or down up?

  • down up.

  • nice

  • thanks so much! you're a great teacher! i'm just learning guitar and this really helped!

  • thank you ive just started playing and i got it pretty well

  • this has helped me alot now that iv started my guitar lessons, its a greast song

  • how hard is it to learn guitar without going on a lesson just use a book and movies like this cause I wanna play guitar but im afraid it takes very long before I can play a song

  • though i don't get some parts of your question(the 1st part). it depends how well you know your chords for instance i didn't know what power chords were then i learned about them and i started to learn more and more songs. and i doesn't matter if its a book or a video cuz ive learned a lot of songs from both.Oh and ive been playing guitar about 2 years.

  • I mean I wanna play guitar but the only things that keep me from are that it takes a while before its gonna be cool and I don't want to go to a man with a guitar that gives me homework and let me play the same thing for hours

  • Well with any person who starts out with guitar there gonna have trouble. Like me when I first started playing I couldn't play a real song for about 2 or 3 months. As for the second part it depends what instructor u get. When I started I got an instructor but he didnt give me homework and I think its better to work with a class because usually one on one teachers will give you homework.

  • Thank you, this vid is very easier to understand then others.

  • thanks

  • he was off tempo.

and do you really have to make a five minute video on a song with five power chords?

  • I like ur vids they r eaier 4me 2 understand than other ones!!

  • "A three-fer". Three songs from one. Good instruction.

    --Van

  • haha dude kinda looks like Jonah Hill hahah i though it was him teaching the song i was like WTF YO!!!

  • Thanks so much. I got my guitar for Xmas and this is the first song I learned on it bc of you!

  • @Jonesy10ftw Same with me! Thank you very much

  • @Jonesy10ftw yea same thanks to this guy

  • haha. at first i was lyk whoa you lost me ten hours ago (i dont pay attention)but now i get it. thanx!!!!

  • ou can also play this in drop Db, and use one finger power chords,it would be easier to begginers...

  • thank you

  • I learned the song from this video wit h 2 days if expereince,=!

  • lol it looks asthough he is in a cot!

  • this guy is awesome i thought i had it but i was a fret down i hadnt heard the song in a while

  • this is awesome :D i had just about learnt it but i couldn't do the muting bit but now i know how to! ty very muchly :D

  • Are you in a baby's room

  • but good vid though

  • not trying to be rude but that shirt dont really fit bro

  • ur awesome man thnx i learned it :)

  • dnt care what everyone says . u r a real good teacher , i just started guitar and after watchin this vid , i learned it in 2mins, thnx alot , this is the first song i have learned to play :):)

  • its dropped D you morons

  • Likk mah bolllzzz :P

  • This isn't even in the right key...way to be

  • sad that you're deaf.... :( you make me cry...how bout learning the song before you assume jackass :P sorry for ruinin ur life

  • moron, try listening to the original song before this one, maybe you are just tone def but it definitely either not in the right key or he is really out of tune...try that hypocritical jackass...

  • sure thing almighty one...nice to know you at least know guitar terminology....half step down is what you're after...go back to guitar hero noob

  • Ok genious, even if it is a half step down it is still not in the same key, last time I chacked a B was different than a Bb. Also, if he was out of tune it would be a half step flat not a half step down, I guess you can't learn that in guitar hero huh?...Oh, and by the way, I don't even play guitar, I just have ears, and obviously you lost those when you lost your brain...asshole

  • so not only are u fuckin retarded u dont play guitar...ur life sucks horribly...

  • one would think, but at least I have ears, a brain, and the ability to spell, dumb shit, and I haven't made myself look like a retard by not knowing that a half step down was indeed not the same key. So what if I don't play guitar, I obviously have better things to do with my life, quit bashing on me to make yourself feel better moron

  • i bash on you cuz ur a queer who gets angry at comments on the internet....stop wasting my time with your stupidity fucktard. go spill your seed in ur moms cunt.

  • this is a very easy song, but this is still the best vid for the lesson and for some reason it only a 4 1/2 star?

  • lol u need a lesson to learn how to play this?

  • r u supposed to strum all of the strings?

  • nice vid!!

  • This song is extremely simple. If you don`t learn this song you won`t learn any song.

  • great

  • i got a fender for c-mas. i like how u explained how to play the chords, 5 3 2 1 0 , thats pretty useful to me, ill check out some of your other vids.

  • thanks dude.

could you put up an instructional for "time of your life"? that would help alot too.

because ive seen so many videos for that, that i have no clue and im super confused.

  • wow your good. i just got my guitar this christmas so i suck :]

  • Its supposed to be Ab, is your guitar tuned non-standard?

  • most def one of the easiest ong i've ever learned

  • seriously

  • thx

  • ur a leg mate

  • you may have just helped me learn one of my fav green day songs and i was wondering if you would conect to me, i am starting a band with my friends and i was wondering that if i need help i could ask you. thanks!

  • thnx alot green day rocks

ive been tryin 2 find how 2 play that propaly 4eva thanx so much

  • thank youuuuuuuuu!!!!! i have just learned it... for only 10-15 min!)) yeah.. Green day 4 ever. And you dude.)) love ya! thanx again!

  • thnx dude

  • great

  • How much tone and gain do u put on it cuz i do the strings but it doesnt sound the same

  • Oh man I forgot what my settings were when I made that video. But I was playing out of a 2x12 50watt peavey tube amp. That's all I can tell ya as far as the sound.

  • i use Marshall

    ther sweet!

  • There's a much easier way that I use. It's the 5th string open, and 2nd fret on 4th. That's just my opinion, you do alot less jumping around on the neck that way, great video.

  • Can i ask why you are struming your pick hand near the 12th fret?? Haha... lmao Learn how to strum then make a guitar lesson =]

  • I am strumming at the 12th fret so everyone can see the strum pattern. If I did it near the pick-ups, it would be cut off by the camera. I'm pretty sure people watching this video are not going to start strumming the song at the 12th fret. :)

  • @Rajsombat derrr dude hes not gonna make a lesson where people cant c his strumming

  • Cool vid u rock!

  • Great vid - thanks alot, except Im not quite understanding the 'zero' part. 2nd fret, are you pushing on the 6th string and muting the others?

  • The last power chord you play is an E5, it's 6th string open (that's what I mean when I say zero) and first finger on second fret, on 5th string. So you just pick strings 6 and 5 together. Does that answer your question?

  • Brilliant, thanks alot! Do you hsve any more videos? Because they rule!

  • thxxx

  • dude did you not listen to thr video... he played it standard tuning....but he says if you want to play along you have to tune it 1\2 a step lower...but you use the same chord progression...now in half a step tuning his progression is the same thing as your progression in regular tuning....for example... in 1/2 a step down tuning an A power chord is on the 6th fret....in regular tuning the A chord is on the 5th fret...you should think before posting this your wrong crap.

  • will u post strings and frets plz i suck at guitar

  • cool

  • nice
