Traded away from a starting roster spot, he never complained, bode his time. He was there for one reason...and in the biggest possible moment ever, he came through.
This was the Sunday--I think the Bonds looking K was the Saturday, because I remember listening to that game on radio. I think Okajima struck him out. It was a great moment. In this game, Bonds homered.
Yeah, I remember watching that--it was loud as fuck. And deservedly so--without his steal, Red Sox might not have overcome the Yankees. It was that big a play.
It was the first at bat, but the sound was from a tiny mic on a still camera from way out in the bleachers, that's why it doesn't sound as loud as it was.
I remember seeing that, but the audio doesn't do him justice...meaning the screams and the ovation was way louder than that...unless this isn't his first at bat.
Nomar, Trot, Pedro and Roberts all got standing ovations on their returns to Boston

San Diego's own Dave Roberts. The Padres should have never got rid of him.

VladmirSkaletsky, that was the MOST IMPORTANT play in the history of the Red Sox. Period, end of story.
