I'm not sure if they said so but that's what many believe and it's easy to agree. "Sounding the Seventh Trumpet" Is a reference to the book of revelations, that the world will end when 7 angels play their trumpets. This song, Chapter Four, is a reference to Gennesis, chapter 4, when Cain kills his brother, Abel. Listen to the lyrics and it definently fits. There are many others, and there are also songs that have nothing to do with the bible like bat country.

@2112guitarplayer idk if u already knew, but their title "Avenged Sevenfold" is a reference to when God banishes Cain, he says that if any man were to kill Cain, that man would have vengeance taken upon him sevenfold, hence, "Avenged Sevenfold" i think its in Genesis as well, hope it helps ^-^

Even 'god hates us' isn't a reference to the bible, it's just about pure punishment by fate and song such as ' so far away', 'dear god', 'nightmare' and so on, are not a reference to the bible at all
