Get a kind advice:

try to learn about the ART first

-the rule of two thirds

-human proportions (anathomy)

-drawing lessons

-basic animation (ball bounces, walk cycle and etc.)

THEN try to make some animation with character

+you need some good editor-guy because this movie really deserves only 1 min. of time to show the idea. 3 minutes+ is really boring!

My opinion that it's better to be just "one role artist" before you become really universal. And... it's not a good reklame for Pink Floyd ;)

Wooha! If that's your first, then I'm REALLY impressed. The sound was nice and pretty convincing. And the character looked good too. The movement was pretty natural.

First movie doesnt mean first blender experience.. he could have been learning for days, months, years etc. Additionally, he may have made lots of movies on other programs, but this is his first blender movie etc. first blender movie means nothing :P

Blender. = Open source 3D programme... And all you idiots saying "Blender sucks at rending" You don't know what the fuck you're talking about. What you're actually thinking about is Texture, Shading and lightning, which is what brings a rendered image to life... Which can be done on Blender if you have experience and know what yo're doing. As the guy said it's his "First Blender Movie" Which I think he did very well with. I have Blender as well, but I use Maya because I find it easier :)

when you hit the shift d are you moving the mesh too? it cold be that it did duplicate but is still in the exact same position as the orginal.

I know it's a really simple thing for me to ask but Lord knows i did that alot when i first started with blender.

If you want to add something you made from another file then you need to go in the file menu and use the Append/link option.

ok when you're appending something make sure the object has a name. then click on append and on the file you want. then go to object and click on the name of the object you want. hopefully that will work
