The fact still remains that these countries are heavily influenced by Islam and still view the world through lenses that are shaped by Shariah. i don't see what the big deal with him quoting the Quran is. Other American leaders have read it or at least possessed a copy of it. Thomas Jefferson, for example, learnt Arabic by reading the Quran and he was one of our founding fathers. There is a copy of the Quran in the White House Library, put there by George W. Bush. And if you remember from the speech, Obama quoted the Bible as well as the Torah also.
