Joni hit #22 in Billboard, 9-28-74. I just pray that Joni would quit smokin', before it gets too late for her to do so. Anybody can quit. It just takes will power. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!
@DaveWollenberg Joni wrote some o.k. songs but her instrumental parts were kind of lacking. Check out my band's new featured video if you want to hear a better interpretation.
@34153353 The only colored vinyl I own is a Rolling Stones album. I showed it in my vinyl collection video, if you want to check it out that'd be cool.
@maxishere4 Yes, I suppose so. I wish it had bass and treble controls instead of just a tone pot. My grandma's big 1963 Magnavox console unit has bass and treble, and this is probably from '63 as well. Sometimes the bass causes these speakers to distort and pop a little. This record player still sounds good, but I might have to spray the pots again since they're still scratchy.
man...that's some dope shit....a 70's Ipod lol...i can literally picture 15 year olds stumbling across this video..( by mistake clearly ) ...and wondering what ancient relic their watching...horrified...they put it on pause and go check with they're parents...who explain it...then go back to the couch and curse the day they ever had children....
This should go into the Library of Congress. How will people in the future know how to operate automatic phonographs players. This video will show them. I forgot how the 'arm' went to the inside to reset before going to 'rest.'
I really enjoyed it. Its a great song sung by a classic artist.
@marksmail2 This is a portable Magnavox Micromatic. Your stereo could be a Magnavox Micromatic console. If everything looks the same as mine, your console could be a '63, like my grandmother's.
I've listened to the live version with Pat & Jaco several dozen times now. I'm not sure which i prefer - both are exquisite.

Cool! Those of us who grew up with analog and record players appreciate the genuine warmth of the sound.
