Ex 14:11-12 brings this song to mind. How often in life do we read v9, do v11-12, forget v14, and miss the opportunity to praise Him as in ch15? 3 days later, 15:24, almost missed v25&27. Hardly more than a month after v26, 16:3. You know, a god of less patience would've skipped v4, and yet... So then in 17:1 we see it repeated AGAIN with the water, and AGAIN with a human enemy. Do we not know, and REMEMBER, that He is ALWAYS looking out for us, even when we don't even so much as say thank you?
I am teaching sunday School today to ladies. We have traveled in the desert with the Isrealites and today we are in Numbers where Moses does not do as God asks. I am starting my lesson with this awesome song. I love Keith Green! Thanks to whomever took the time to put is music on youtube!
I first heard his music when I was a sophomore in college, and my faith was on the line. It was listening to this music that helped me keep the faith. I'm a preacher today, and Keith's songs have had a tremendous influence on my committment.
There are some really good ones today...Matthew West, Point of Grace, Chris Rice, DC Talk, Steven Curtis Chapman, and that's just a few. Keith Green was one of those Christian artists that laid the ground work for artists like these to come out now. The ones we have now can not only compete with the world in type of music but their lyrics are far more powerful and meaningful than anything the world has to offer. Keith Green was one of the artists that made it possible for them to do that =)
It absolutely amazes me that I had the opportunity to see this man perform live ( along with other music biggies like Larry Norman and 2nd Chapter of Acts) at a Jesus fest in Ontario in the 70s. Too bad I was too young to realize how unique this was.
The good thing about good music is that it never dies it just gets better with age =) Christian kids growing up today are so blessed today. When I was a kid there only a few really good Christian music choices that could even compete with the mainstream artists. Now not only do they compete, but some of them are so good mainstream stations give their songs air time. That didn't happen when I was growing up. God has definitely blessed the Christian music industry =)
@lilwing80 True. Bands like Jerusalem really know how to bring out the spirit of worship in their songs as Kieth Green has. I used to like Stryper and was a fool for so long thinking that was Christian. Turnes out it really isn't and now to me they sound so superficial and hollow. But I must say, Casting Crowns has revitalized my interest in contemporary Christian music. I feel myself less entertained and more worshipful, if that makes any sense.
@lilwing80 Gee, I think there's a lot of good stuff these days, but when it was so new - the contemporary style - it was fresh and new. There's so much variety out there - I love Third Day, Casting Crowns, Mercy Me, Kutless, Chris August, Newsboys, Chris Tomlin, so many....
Wow! The sound quality of this entry is the best I've ever heard on YouTube. Amazing! And thanks for putting these Keith Green songs out here. I remember wearing his album out from so much play when I first got it. I was 12 or 13 and didn't have the money to buy the album. So Keith Green's ministry sent me one free (that was over 30 years ago). And would you believe my 6-year old niece loves the album and knows "Egypty" by heart. See? His music will never die.
Oh! I loved Keith Green. This is the only funny song I remember of his. When I was young it was my favorite, now my favorite is Oh Lord You're Beautiful.
will be featured on He's Coming Soon ... the site of the Ten Commandments and plan of action to spread the word that He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. This prophet of God will be heard by many with your help. still in the building phase, but please google and attend any time you need a refreshing for your heart.
A time warp travel song about the dangers of heading back into spiritual/physical slavery and of grumbling unto the Lord...with a hint of sarcasm and humour. Thank you Lord for working through your servant to teach and encourage today's believer's to live pure, holy and thankful lives. We praise you Lord Jesus- send more of your servants to preach your word in music...like Keith did for a short while
I love Keith Green! I miss him! I was saved back on April 3, 1977 during the Jesus Freak Movement. I am so excited for the Lord's return! I am ready to go!
Keith Green's music continues to influence lives even now, long after his death. I am only 19-years-old, but Keith Green is one of my favorite singers. This ministry is still continuing to inspire, influence, and save people. Praise our Lord Jesus Christ.
@Yocky14 Carman also fits into this category. some powerful messages and some tongue in cheek humor. These men never lost sight of the fact that what they did (do) is in the lords service!
I think Keith Green was way ahead of his time, and the Lord used him very specifically. It broke my heart when I heard he had died. Just after the release of his newst album "Songs for the Shepherd". I remember my friend saying.. "his work must be done then.."
This song is amazing! I love it! :D:D

the best Christian music was back in the 80's. There was an "essence" to it you don't see today.
