  • i remember playing this game for hours fab

  • Classic...even had tyre wear!!

  • @campeona5 I remember playing this on my Atari 800XL computer back in the 80's............I loved Pitstop and this sequel. But man try listening to these noises all day long, make you feel like your're gonna have a seizure!!

  • The days of colour rotation to make the track look like it's moving by, sprite cars and a basic scrolling background. This game was excellent in it's day with a split screen capability to play your friend, I spent many an hour on this.

  • This game makes me think of The Great American Cross Country Road Race. Those names at the end of the race makes me think what characteristic people look like.

  • @Sharptooth100 The Great American Road Race was an excellent, and to this day underrated C64 game! It had strategy as well as arcade features, and the way they got across different parts of the States was amazing! Then you had the day/night cycles, and how the traffic got worse if you entered a city during rush hour! Thanks for reminding me of this great game!

  • Me and my mate spent hours on this game!

  • Totally forgot about the game until I saw this... wow, what a fun game this was. I spent hours playing this and Summer / Winter / California Games

  • cant remember how many hours i've played on this game with my little brother in the 80's

  • guaranteed to give you cramp after a few hours straight lol

  • Awesome. One of the iconic C64 games.

  • Better graphics than GT5.

  • @banshee5555 and F1 2011 ;)

  • You forgot to show pitstops. :(

  • @irategoblin: If you had been a teenage kid in 1984 you wouldn't be calling it shit.

  • i remember me and a mate playing this for 13 plus hours straight had one killer headache by the end off it

  • @71cuda6pak the same for me, hours and hours.. on of the best game!!

  • Oh no, this is the game I wanted in the mid 80's :D

But never had it, I had to play that crappy Pitstop 1 which was a single-player game!

  • omg, what a awesome sound :D

  • dub step can suck my tailpipe ;)

  • Play this great game online @ RetrOnline! A tutorial will help you to setup the game easily :)

    We are waiting for you!

  • Spettacolo! Potevo cucinare sul trasformatore tanto lo facevo diventare caldo...

  • No pit stop at all... I wasted 2:32 minutes...

  • 8 bit goodness on 2011 YouTube. I LOVE this place! Oh, wait. Was that from McDonald's or Burger King?

  • pitstop II for ever!

  • Wow play this when i was little lad great game

  • und heute jaulen die Teenies, weil ihnen bei GT5 die Lichtspiegelungen auf dem Amturenbrettern nicht realistisch genug ausseehen

  • We played it as kids too, so much fuuuun! Much better than many of todays games! :)

  • I want to go back in time ... happy days ...

  • Omg amazing... i totally loved this game on the commodore... forgot how weird it sounded lol. I played it for hours as well.

  • I wore out so many Atari joysticks playing this.

  • I have commodore 64 and this game :D

  • OMG! I could play this for hours! great memories!

  • Computers were 100x more fun in those days

  • oh the memories

  • Great and this game is from '84?

  • Damn i loved this game! the 2 player mode as shown in the video was absolutely brilliant!

  • With Way of the Exploding Fist, IK+ and Wizball, this was a fantastic, revolutionary, 2-player game. You drove against the other guy, not the drones.

  • While playing this game and "Decathlon" I killed 2 Competition Pro Joysticks ;-)

  • @ReTho76

Decathlon was definitely a joystick killer, all that wagging your stick about.

  • Ahhh good times. Played this after school until supper with my QuickShot Joystick. #MemoryLane #GoodTimes #C64

  • I used to get up at 7am only to be able to play this game when I was 5 years old. Very addictive game back then!!

  • @PaulNo111 hahaha...exactly the same here...everybody was sleepin´ hahaha

  • for 1984 this is one advanced game. The cars graphics are really clear.

  • I love these games.

  • On 2 player, the 2nd player was always at a disadvantage as the first car you came to was alway on the left of the track and you would have to hit it or slow down. Me and my sister used to play this and spent most of the time trying to pop each other's tyres.

  • Wow, I remember playing this with my brother... both cars super close and tires about to pop, waiting for the other person to make a mistake.

  • The best bit about this game was the comical pitstop and changing the tyres plus refueling...it was really advanced cool game but a bugger when your tyres popped if you kept hitting the kerbs and your opponent.

  • Mesmerizing sound!

  • Hell, I never played this game, but these are some decent graphics for C64. I only played the first pit stop.

  • fuckin nice game, if you playing against friend

  • I first played this in about 1986 when i copy off it from someone and i fell i love with it! that would have made me only 12 years old :) Time does go quick but such a BRILLIANT game.

  • I was playing this great game with my sister when i was 7 :-]

    5/5

  • sounds like pissed of mosquito / fly mutants from outer space. Back than I did like the game though

  • Awesome game. I remember playing it when I was nine!!!!

  • Awesome game.

All the kids in the neighbourhood played this one, but I practiced hard and by the end no one could take me. Led to a long virtual career spanning Test Drive and all the Grand Prix series lol...

  • Gosh, that was how it all started at a friends place. 198x something. Thanks for putting this onj, mingo.

  • good news, this game is now available via the US Virtual Console's Commodore 64 lineup along with International Karate and The Last Ninja

  • I loved this game even though I broke several joysticks playing it

  • +1 ;]

  • We played this hours and hours when we was kids, great game ! : )

  • Great Race!
