Enter the Dragonfly was not developed by Insomniac. Insomniac only made the original 3 PS1 games. They let Universal take over Spyro so they could make something new on the PS2 and they made Ratchet and Clank.

They couldn't have. They had deadlines to reach. By the time they finished Spyro 3 not only had they run out of ideas, but they wanted to make a PS2 game for Sony. If they had made another Spyro game it would have probably turned out like "Wrath of Cortex," similar to the old games but still not as good. And plus we wouldn't have Ratchet and Clank or Resistance. So while I'm not happy about them giving up on Spyro, I'm glad they did when looking at the big picture.

I just watched the Insomniac Games episode of Icons. They said that while making Spyro 3 they were really running low on ideas for a Spyro game. That plus they didn't really want to work with Universal Studios anymore. They wanted to work exclusively for Sony.

I've had the first one for about 12 years but I've only ever played the first couple levels of Ripto's Rage. I saw the Insomniac Games episode of Icons a few days ago and it gave me a massive Spyro craving!

If you have a PSP or PS3 you can buy it off of the Playstation Store for $5.99. All 3 of the original Spyro games are on there as well as all 3 of the original Crash Bandicoot games. They are well worth the money if your PS1 disc won't work anymore.

Gotta love Tom Kenny's voice. His voice suited Spyro pretty well before Jess Harnell (Wakko Warner on Animaniacs) took over, followed by Elijah Wood.

Of course, Tom Kenny is currently doing the voice of Eduardo, another purple character, but not of the Spyro franchise. Eduardo's a purple Minotaur who wears grey pants and a belt with a skull buckle, he speaks Spanish and English, and he lives at Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends.
