Instead of losing power on the spinning( which obviously did not work, you should have put a saw right on top of the robot. When an enemy comes close to you just push the saw down and it will destroy or cut through your opponent. Make sure the saw is gas powered. Using the saw throughout the whole battle should last you around 3-5 minutes but by then your opponent would be destroyed.
its not like the spinning will do any damage to the other robot, And the competition was weak i got bored cause the other guy had a saw, rotating spikes and a spinning jackhammer!!!(but i did like how you pushed him against the law.
Excellent question. I joined this as part of an extra-curricular program with my school. All you really need is a lot of cash, the right machinery, and a local competition to join. You will need team members, and access to high-tech equipment such as milling and waterjet machines. Also, our robot cost around $1,250, so it isn't cheap. Ask around your community, such as at a Manufacturing School.
Can these have any kind of "projectile" or Flammable weapons?

This robot had some very entertaining fights.

It takes a lot of skill, knowledge, and resources to build a successful 15lb robot.
As for the saw idea, a saw blade doesn't really have enough mass to be effective. Plus, the teeth break off and bend.
I can't wait until this years competition with our new robot.

The robots have to be under 15 pounds. There's no way we could've made a decent saw with that limit, especially gas-powered.

@trmania
15 pounds is kinda hard to work with.... one thing that i liked about your robot is that you added holes. That probably made it half as light.
NotFunnyVids 2 years ago
The weight limit was difficult to work with. The holes did help out.

I didn't film it, as I was driving the robot. He was stuck in an awkward location.
