I remember the first time I ever heard Colm Wilkinson sing "Bring Him Home." It was during a PBS special about rehearsals for the then-new musical, "Les Miserables." I was taping it, and recall my feeling of breathlessness and suspended animation while he sang this. That crystal-clear final note had me in tears.

Of course, one of the kids later taped over the performance.

My husband is an amateur actor, performer, Social Worker, and a recent Iraq Veteran. We have always loved this song and this show. Since returning, this show and many of its other wonderful songs have new meaning for him, and us. He is not a Tenor so he is unable to sing this song but often sings "Empty Chairs and Empty Tables" with a dedication to people he knew, and did not know, that lost their lives serving our country. We appreciate the sentiment.
