Me and my mates " swore blood brothers against the wind" becaue of this song as 16 year olds and as this song finds us in our forties it still keeps us honest.
"No retreat baby, no surrender..." Grandissimo Boss, oggi come come non mai questa canzone mi da una carica pazzesca e dico no a chi ha gli occhi e non vede che la vita è un soffio... no... non mi cambierai, non sarò mai come te.. mai. E non mi arrendo...fidati.
uhh im really gonna be honest....this song has made me life different because it tells me to believe and never forget your true dream.....nd im only 13 yrs old.....thts amazing!
hey im trying to help one of my friends out on here and if you could id really like it if you went and checked this new band out and if you like it like the facebook page and spread them around . thanks,oh to get to there music go under info and its at the bottom.
This album isn't patriotic at all, well, at least part of it, and not what everybody seems to think about it. He's pissing on the flag. Can't believe nobody noticed that too much.
I don't think it's so much a shot at education as it is saying that making something of yourself can still be a success without the education. Kind of like how "Born to Run" shows that in a dark moment in life, there's a light at the end of the highway and if you run for it, it, too, can be yours.
this song is amazing to me . THE BOSS , hope he come's back to europe soon!
may 13 I'm going to new york and also 6 days in new jersey , in asbury park , I'm going just with my guitar .. If you wanna see my version of no surrender and some other bruce covers check out my video's and give some comments on them :):) thank you!!
Alfunk is correct. The theme of this album is meant to be a deliver a black eye at a country that supposedly prided itself on the premise of equality for all men. Just take a moment and listen to the lyrics of "Born in the U. S. A.", and you'll see what I'm talking about.
"Well we busted outta class, had to get away from those fools, we learned more from a three minute record baby than we ever learned in school".
Some of my favourite lyrics of all time. This could have been on "Born to Run", - it just smacks of hope, joy, freedom, redemption and longing.
I listened to "No Surrender" while I was revising for my exams, just to remind me that even if I failed, being a jukebox graduate is still a great qualification!
The words are so true. Right now I have almost no life besides of school, and the first couple of lines really seem like I would've wrote them. I don't know about the rest yet, but I guess I'll find out later on.
I know exactly how you feel, believe me. I'm holding tightly to those opening lines too! I suppose we just have to believe that freedom is waiting just a little further up the road!
Just recently been exploring Bruce Springsteen. What heroes of music we had during the last century. AC/DC and such... Gonna be fun listening to more songs cause I really liked this one.

I second that. Remember he came to my city in 85 when I was fifteen and now still enjoying in my 40's. That was a better and simpler time.

Just stunning lyrics. Just as much heart and passion as every other song on "Born in the USA" or "Born to Run" for that matter.

Yup. Bruce always said that.
The one reason why the album looks so cheery is because of the heavy Rock playing style.
