1 And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved. ACTS 15:1
Why would YOU preach Matthew 28:19 ...with a "Oneness" Gospel?
I would'nt read the Acts 10:43-47 or Acts 19:2-4 either if I was YOU.any other verses on the heretical doctrine of Bastism by H2o. H2o for salvation,? Talking in tongues ? The least of the gifts, Heresy! If your are goin to pick a "Law" of Jesus to be saved by , at least make it something that helps people like "Soul Winning" in Mark 16:15. On second thought forget it! NOT with your "Other Gospel!" Gal 1 Foolish teaching.... & dangerous for the teachers?
Baptism is a requirement of God every believer should follow, but not a reqirment of salvation But if you are saved and confess Jesus as you Saviour and you die before you are Baptized in water you will go to Heaven Salvation is by the Blood & the finished work of the Cross alone. The bible says to be born of water and spirit. I was born of water from my mothers womb that requirement was filled in me by birth but to be saved you must be also born of the spirit.
Amen Brother! You tell em, and I'll turn the pages.!!! Glory to God the Father,Son and Holy Spirit, and these 3 persons are still all in ONE AND ONLY HOLY GOD ALMIGHTY! The Great "I AM".. YAHWEH...YHWH. 2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. Ps 90:2
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. JOHN 3:6
To God be the glory! The truth is still out there. I pray that other preachers will wake up to the truth and start preaching God's true plan of salvation according to Acts 2:38. Thank God that's the way i received it over 30 years ago.
Accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior is the only way to atone for your sins. Jesus was the perfect sacrifice because He lived a life without sin and died for you. He paid the price for our sins. It is a free gift of salvation that God offers to you. Will you accept it? I pray that you find truth in your life. Jesus is the only truth that anyone needs. God bless you as you seek after Him.
Water baptism in Jesus Name does not save you. You have skipped a whole portion of the gospel of Christ. Salvation is the work of Christ and him alone. We can do nothing to earn salvation. He died for our sins and if we believe then the bible says we are saved because of what “WE BELIEVE.” We are justified (declared righteous) by the work done on the cross.
God is the one who sanctifies and fills us with his spirit. We must study the word of God to get truth. We will have holes in our protective gear (armour) if we don’t get the truth of God’s word.
It is so sad to read the many people that believe only their little "denominational beliefs" are the true church of Jesus as implied by many on this thread. Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit”, says the Lord (Zech. 4:6) For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God (Rom. 8:14). So, if those of you that feel only them that are water baptized in Jesus Name are the ones that are saved then you are deceived.
@Jesuscomingrealsoon ...What did Jesus & John the Baptist do at the River of Jordan in Matthew 3? What did Jesus tell Nicodemus in St. John 3? What did Jesus tell His apostles in Mark 16:16? And how did the Apostles execute the Great Commission in the Book of Acts?
@Jesuscomingrealsoon ... The acts of the Apostles are NOT the doctrines of men, but of the Almighty. They did PRECISELY what Jesus taught them. Jesus said so Himself. Read St. John 17. In Jesus' prayer, He told God that the apostles received the word God told Him to convey. Also, read Acts 10:33. Cornelius even knew that what Peter was going to say was commanded by God.
@JesusIsMyHelp ...Those are superb examples of Scriptures. Jesus taught the apostles during his 3 year ministry. Who else taught them what they carried out?...I'm so glad preachers like Bishop Leslie are preaching the truth!! Keep on preaching Bishop Leslie!!
@JesusIsMyHelp The teaching of the Acts of The Apostles are the doctrine of men, The experiencing of what the Apostles taught is the doctrine of God. Let me put it this way. Experience what the Apostles taught and when you really experience what they taught you will have the Full Gospel.
@Jesuscomingrealsoon 2 Timothy 3:16 (King James Version) 16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
@Jesuscomingrealsoon ...You are flat wrong. The Apostles learned everything from Jesus Himself. There are Scriptures which you have already been presented with that clearly show that. So, once again, the Apostles did exactly what Jesus taught them. You must exercise faith in God's word and be obedient to it.
@Jesuscomingrealsoon AMEN TO THAT! I just don't understand why people fight so hard against God's word when it's right there in their face. The Jews, Gentiles and Samaritans were saved the same way. Why not just do it the way they did it and be saved? They always got to go against what the Bible so plainly say and show. Yet they say they love the Lord. If u are a true believer, u should want every supernatural experience u can get from God. God bless you! keep praying for them.
@Jesuscomingrealsoon .... If you don't believe the Word of God, then so be it. But please don't come on this page to agrue with those who have done what Jesus commanded. Don't come here and try to debate the Word, because it is forever settled in Heaven. All you have to do is believe and obey what Jesus commanded, so you can be saved when He appears. You'll be so glad you did.
@Jesuscomingrealsoon ... We're waiting for you to answer the questions I posed earlier. Please don't avoid those questions. Please respond with answers. Thanks!
@truthofsalvation Christ was without sin so he couldn't have been baptized for remission of sin. The Bible said, he was baptize to fulfil all righteousness.
@Jesuscomingrealsoon ... Jesus was our perfect example. When He said to John that it behooves us to fulfill ALL righteousness, He meant WATER (which John represented with the water baptism unto repentance) AND SPIRIT, which Jesus embodied, and the Holy Ghost sat on Jesus in the visible form of a dove.
@Jesuscomingrealsoon ... Exactly, so water baptism, which Jesus submitted Himself to at the River of Jordan, was one part of the fulfillment of ALL righteousness! The other part, as Jesus told Nicodemus, is the SPIRIT (which is the Holy Ghost, speaking in other tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance.)
@Jesuscomingrealsoon SO your the smart one here ?LUKE 24 45Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. 46He told them, "This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, 47and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive HOLY GHOST
@Jesuscomingrealsoon ... How can you say we are deceived who believe Jesus? You're kidding, right? Jesus said you MUST be born again of the WATER and the SPIRIT in order to enter the Kingdom. Didn't Jesus say that?
@GodsGrace333 I did not say you are deceived by believing in Jesus. I said you are deceived by saying those that are water baptized in Jesus Name are the only ones saved. That is not the gospel of Christ. One cannot be born again by a pool of water. Born of the water means physical birth and born of the spirit means spiritual birth.
John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Mark 16:16 "He that believeth AND is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned." (Jesus said this. It's wise to listen to what He says. Remember, Jesus IS God manifested in the flesh. Pay attention to what He says.)
Preach, Bishop Leslie!! I've looked at this clip a million times and have been truly blessed each time! The devil is mad because the truth of salvation is getting out! The gates of hell will not prevail against the true -- and only -- church Jesus established, which is the Apostolic church!!
The #1 reason there is so much confusion among true believers is bc 99% of them r trying to explain the Bible using ONLY English. There r no OT or NT manuscripts written in English. To use only English (as this Pastor is doing) is asking the Blind to lead the Blind! That's why there's so much confusion on Acts 2:38. But even with no knowledge of the Greek NT language, all we have to do is read Acts 10:43-47 & 11:15! It clearly shows that water baptism is not needed to receive the Holy Spirit!
@Race4Holiness no you can receive the HOLY SPIRT with out getting baptized BUT in the same vers you got baptized as soon as they got the HOLY SPIRT they got baptized "RIGHT" dont forget that part !!!Acts 10 48 just 1 more ver why you stop ???
@MrDwaynedog911 There r many points of truths in all Holy Scripture. The believing Jews did not believe that Samaritans/Gentiles could be saved. God gave them undeniable proof as you know. Water baptism is very important, but that was not the main point of my discussion. You & I have no disagreements as to the vital importance of water baptism. Any of us who have truly died to our former life (as Yeshua did) & who have truly risen from the dead (as Yeshua did) have no problem in being baptized.
@Race4Holiness in acts 10 soon after they recived the Holy Ghost peter WHY would you come on here and stop at ver 47 READ ACTS 10 VER 48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.
@MrDwaynedog911 Peter could not deny that these Gentiles had been saved and received the Holy Ghost (the same EXACT way the believing Jews got saved & received the Holy Ghost!) Since water baptism is ONLY 4 THOSE WHO HAVE th HOLY GHOST, naturally Peter baptized them! Now that they were saved, they now needed to be taught. Peter stayed behind them to teach them more about their new life. Pls read Acts 15:8-9 for more light on the matter. I simply believe what the Holy Scriptures plainly declare!
@Race4Holiness PSSST!! hate to tell ya been baptized is not ONLY for the ones who have the Holy Ghost READ acts 8 ver 12-17 they where baptized ONLY and did NOT received the Holy Ghost till peter laid hands on them !!!been baptized is for the remission of sin ! in LUKE 24 ver 45 JESUS opened there understanding then told them what to do,how, where, and who to start with !LUKE 24 ver 46-48!!and this WAS fulfilled in act 2:38 !!
@MrDwaynedog911 ... You are telling the truth. The real problem is unbelief and the refusal to obey God's word. They argue against what Jesus said, and what the Apostles, who were hand-picked and taught by Jesus, did according to what Jesus instructed. It's a trick of the enemy who has their minds blind. We must pray for them.
@MrDwaynedog911 God chose to delay the Holy Spirit upon the Samaritans because the born again Jews were ignorant and did not believe that salvation was for the Samaritans. Being the all-wise God, He did a ONE-TIME delaying of Holy Spirit until the church leaders (Peter & John) FIRST SAW IT! Now the born again (prejudiced/misinformed) Jews would accept it and progress in their knowledge of redemption. Today we all know that anyone can get saved and this is no longer necessary!
@Race4Holiness !!!!!so in{ acts 19} what happen ??When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6And when (((((Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues)))))))))), and prophesied. 7And all the men were about twelve.
@MrDwaynedog911 These were disciples of John the Baptist who knew nothing about Jesus or the Holy Spirit. Their knowledge was missing a big part of the new, complete gospel story! Now that the Holy Spirit has come, we must all believe in Jesus because the Holy Spirit will not dwell in nor give power to witness (Acts 1:8) to those who r ignorant of Jesus! God wants His witnesses to know about Jesus' doctrine. These disciples of John were behind the times! But it's a new and different day for us.
@Race4Holiness you are right and when you preach JESUS u must tell them would JESUS was and what you must do and the messages is!!!!!!repent be baptized for the remission in JESUS name and u will recive the gift of the Holy Spirt !
@MrDwaynedog911 No that's your belief! Acts 10:43-44, Acts 3:19, and Luke 24:47-49 CLEARLY REJECT your interpretation! Why can't you just believe what is clearly written? I've already given you the correct interpretation of Acts 2:38, even going as far as putting it into PLAIN English. Like I said, Jesus used earthly parable to explain heavenly truth. You know I don't use trickery to explain God's truth. I'm using the Scriptures & the way Jesus taught! but I'll stay w you 4 as long as it takes!!
@MrDwaynedog911 Although Jesus opened their eyes (understanding on many things, most still didn't understand the complete redemption picture. Most still didn't believe anyone but Jews would be saved and believed that God was going to destroy their enemies and set up the kingdom of David in their day. However, God was to first only start at Jerusalem, then to Samaria, and then to others. We in our day have been blessed and have no excuse for INCOMPLETE understanding. Just read the word 4yourself!
@MrDwaynedog911 As for Acts 2:38, we must realize that the N.T. was written in Greek or Aramaic. However, even in English it can be made plain if taught correctly. A pretty woman is praised FOR her beauty. She is not praised IN ORDER TO become beautiful, because she is ALREADY beautiful! When you believe (in your heart) u receive remission of sins. Therefore we are baptized FOR the remission of sins THAT WE ALREADY POSSESS! we are not baptized IN ORDER TO HAVE REMISSION OF SINS. See Acts 10:44!
@Race4Holiness hmm not sure telling a story about a lady is the same as getting your sins washed away JESUS said it in luke 24 peter preached it in act 2 !
@MrDwaynedog911 Jesus used parables too! But let's use Hebrew 2:17 since u didn't "catch" my parable. Jesus made reconciliation FOR the sins of the people. It's obvious the sins came first and then the reconciliation! In Acts 2:38 they were baptized FOR the remission of sins. The remission came first (Upon repenting) & then they were baptized (to show that they had the remission of sins already)! See Acts 2:19 if that will help u "catch" it. I'm at your disposal to help u in any way. Praise God!
@Race4Holiness luke 24 ver 48 said !!!! And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. NOT repent ONLY but !!! baptized IN JESUS name right ???
@MrDwaynedog911 Which version of the Luke r u reading? Vs 47 says that "and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem." But even the vs u mentioned (v. 48) says nothing about water baptism. The Bible does not contradict itself and Acts 10:43-44 and Acts 3:19 merely reflect, agree with, and confirm Jesus' declaration in Luke 24:47-49. Please read these verses for more light! It isn't hidden in mystical language!
@Race4Holiness 1 did luke 24 47-49 get fulfilled in acts 2 38-41 ??? was it the first time after the Spirt was given to men ? did peter ,paul, tim preach anything diff ?? you must repent get baptized FOR the remission of sins AND recive the Holy Ghost
@MrDwaynedog911 Why is it so hard for you to believe the whole Bible? Peter EMPHATICALLY TESTIFIED that the people in Acts10:44-46 got saved & received the Holy Ghost EXACTLY the SAME WAY that the Jews (Peter, John, etc) in Jerusalem got SAVED & RECEIVED THE HOLY GHOST! DO YOU BELIEVE THAT PETER WAS A TRUE APOSTLE? IF SO, SIMPLY BELIEVE HIS TESTIMONY IN ACTS 15:7-8, which refers to what happened in Acts 10:43-48. The Gentiles in Acts 10 already had the Holy Ghost BEFORE they got baptized!!!
@Race4Holiness im not sure what you mean about leave the whole bible ?
your the one who cant see repent be baptized in Jesus name and reciveing the Holy Ghost ok how about this do what Philip preached in acts 8 35-38 or how about acts 16 30-33 ! !!!
@MrDwaynedog911 You r having problems just reading my simple writings! I wrote "believing" not "leaving". Philip in Acts 8 merely declared what all true Bible Apostles received from the word---"Baptism doesn't count for anything unless u truly repent and truly believe!" You do not believe Acts 10:43-47 which clearly states that the gentiles believed the word and received the Holy Ghost without being baptized in water! How you cannot see this is amazing! You are merely rejecting God's word!!!
@Race4Holiness!!!!!! wait a sec WHERE do you get been baptized means u truly believe ??? whats mark 16-16 say hmm acts 2-38 been baptized is for more then you truly believe ! maybe the by the washing of regeneration or hmm like luke said remission of sins IN HIS NAME psst acts 2-38 !!! you must be baptized in the name of JESUS for the REMISSION of sin .
@Race4Holiness God had to give the Holy Ghost before they got baptized the jews would have never let peter baptize them thats why they got baptized as soon as the elders could not stop it to build your faith around a few vers come on do what JESUS said would happen in luke 24 46- 48 even mark 16-16 writes u must be baptized acts 2-38 8 12-17 8 35-38 10 43-48 read when paul was converted the LORD told him in act 9 ver 6 go to the city they will tell u what u must do acts 9 10-18 19 1-6 !!!
@MrDwaynedog911 I assume that u have read Acts 10:44, which plainly declares: "While Peter yet spoke these words, the Holy Ghost fell on them who heard the word". Just answer a plain "yes" or "no". Do you believe this verse?
@MrDwaynedog911 The Jews Had NOTHING TO DO WITH PETER'S DECISION! In Acts 5:29 Peter clearly explains why he obeys the gospel method of saving people: "We ought to obey God rather than man". It aint the Jews gospel plan of Salvation and neither their plan for receiving the Holy Ghost. You insist on clinging to your unscriptual belief despite Acts 10:44! Peter saw 4 himself the method of saving folks---HEARING and HEEDING the Gospel Message in YOUR HEART---there's no other way! See Rom 10:10.
@MrDwaynedog911 Jesus gave vital revelation in Mark 16:16, letting us know that baptism without belief yields nothing! John the Baptist was shocked when he saw the unrepentant and non-believing Pharisees come to him to get baptized! He refused to baptize them! This still continues today with many churches baptizing folks who don't believe in their HEARTS. If they make a mouth profession, today's churches quickly baptize them! However, Water Baptism is for saved folks only!!
@Race4Holiness what we to do for our Jesus Name Only saints is to pray for them that the Lord will lead them into all truths. I given much on this thread concerning this subject as some others. We have to thank God for revealing his word to us and pray for those who reject the revealed or have not received the, "Full Gospel". Most on here is going by what have been taught, "Tradition."
@Jesuscomingrealsoon God will bless the time you have sacrificed for the sake of Yeshua on this thread! As followers of Yeshua, we must love others to the very end [John 13:1] and never give up on anyone! We are commanded to always "earnestly contend for the faith" [Jude 3]. Anyway, thanks for your time and I look forward to dialoguing with anyone for as long as it is necessary to help us all get on one accord! We must do our part to end the schism in the body of Christ!
@Race4Holiness I was water baptized in Jesus Name and I am not disputing that we get water baptized in Jesus Name or Father, Son, Holy Ghost. However, the error in the doctrine is that it teaches that those who are not baptized in Jesus Name are not saved. So, the doctrine as Bishop Leslie preaches is saying only, "Jesus Name Only" are saved. The video by Antoine Taylor saying he is filled with the Holy Ghost. con't
@Jesuscomingrealsoon Those who teach the "Jesus Name Only" water baptism do it in ignorance. But they do love God and feel they are right. However, it's obvious that one error leads to many others! All I know is that the emphasis must be on the power of God to save the lost. God said He would sprinkle clean water upon us and we would then be clean [Ezekiel 36:25]. It's His 100% Spiritual/Heavenly water and has nothing at all to do with earthly water or earthly men! Our part is to speak the word!
@Race4Holiness we know that the filling suggest being “Full.” It is not just speaking in tongues or I should say receiving tongues is not being filled. OH OH, just lost somebody! When we are filled we will walk like Jesus, talk like Jesus, cast out demons like Jesus, pray like Jesus etc. The Power of God will be all on the inside permeating on the outside. We must pray for our brethren and sisters that the Lord will sanctify them through the truth: the word is truth, john 17:17.
@Jesuscomingrealsoon I concur! We are to be filled EVERYDAY with the Holy Spirit! When we try to be sanctified from the outside to the inside, we are no longer walking by faith (II Corinth 5:7). God has already did the inside work & it's up to us to let the Spirit move it from the inside to the outside! But the starting point is a heart that believes the gospel message. That releases the 100% supernatural power and water of God. Sanctify means to "de-earth"! We are sanctified only from above!
@MrDwaynedog911 You are sincere and I really like your love for the word. I suggest that you buy a Hebrew-Greek Concordance to further increase your learning. Also I depend on the Holy Ghost only as my error-less teacher. In the Greek for example, the word "heard" in Acts 10:43 means they heard, understood, believed, accepted and obeyed the word in their hearts. The results in Acts 10:44 speak 4 themselves! Please keep dialoguing with me, I appreciate it & look forward to your comments! Thanks!
The thief on the cross next to Jesus didn't speak in tongues, yet Jesus still said, "Today you shall be with me in Paradise." Just an observation.....
@InTheKnow88 ...By "tongues" this is referring to the evidence of the Holy Ghost. Recipients will speak in tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance, which is seen in Acts 2.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@InTheKnow88 : by tounges it actually meant that when babel occured there was diffrent languages, and at pentecost 33 CE 120 disciples of jesus recieved the ability to speak in these diffrent languages to speak to ALL people , and they understood what was being said ,which caused over 3,000 people to be baptised, ranting and raving and bouncing all over the floor has nothing to do with tounges thats just stupid , if no one could understand it , then whats the point?
@nrwotc Yes they can...and should. About a year ago, we welcomed our first female Minister, and she is the best one we have ever had. We have full biblical references supporting female ordination.
okay im waiting give me bible for that foolishness? if you prove me wrong than you can have my ford explorer. i"ll signed it over and you can have it.
knewness of life so we have to obey the scripture it would not say it if it wasnt for us to do better to obey than to leave it up to chance we have to look for this in the word of god where he gives instuction and then see how the people respond to it do they do it or not the answer is simple they responded by obeying the commandment to be baptized so do what you want but dont wait to late people
Praise the Lord, brothatruth... You are absolutely right, the Word of God lays out the plan of salvation very clearly, and it's up to us to obey what Jesus said, and to follow how His disciples executed the Great Commission. We see that in the Book of Acts.
of sin the word remission means forgiveness so why are we baptized to be forgiven of sin in the old testament they sacrificed animals and shed blood to make atonement for sins this thing we call water baptism idetifies with the death burial and resurrection of jesus christ and is very important in the life of a believer read romans 6:4 we where buried therefore with him through baptism unto death that just as christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the farther we also rise to walk in a
sprinkle the blood on the door post and if they obeyed the words of the profit who recieved the words from god that the death angel would passover he said when i see the blood i will passover you also its important to note jesus says except a man be born of water and spirit he shall not enter the kingdom note the word except this is very important this says to us that this is the only way you can be excepted by god is through being born again faith repentance baptism for the remission
I pray God open the hearts mind of many apostolic believers today. What many say God does or has done for them because of baptism in water in Jesus in name, and receiving the Holy Ghost. Peter said come from Gods divine nature. Jesus name is not nor is the Holy Spirit Gods divine nature.
What really amazes and grieves me is so many people ignore what plainly written, base on feelings. Like "Bishop" Carlton Pearson. Who was and I quote was "baptize in Jesus name filled with the Holy Ghost, with the evidence of speaking in tongues." Well with some unknown language, now preaches by that same "spirit" he said was the "Holy Ghost," "There is no hell."
JesusIsMyHelp...Praise God from Whom ALL blessings flow! That is a dynamite testimony! The power of the Holy Ghost changed me INSTANTLY also! It was an experience I will never, ever forget -- being filled with the Holy Ghost! Now, I have the power not to go along with the devil's program. The Scripture comes to mind "greater is He that is within me, than he that is in the world." That is the Gospel truth!
I praise the Almighty God that He loosed my chains and set me free!
Jesus delivered me from a miserable, deplorable life of sin. Because of the baptism in Jesus' name, and the gift of the Holy Ghost, I no longer have the desire to continue in sin, but to follow after Jesus and pursue eternal life with Him!
My hope and prayer is to let my light shine, and live a life that leads others to Christ.
I also read Bishop Leslie's book, Everybody Can't Be Right, and shared it with others. It's a real blessing because it explains why the false doctrines are false.
Beloved fellow servants if you speak ('Ha Sha La Bon Da, Oh Robah Ah Sah Da') an unknown tongue that is your spirit. It's written! The gift of tongues is the ability to speak in different languages of humanity. If you only speak in an unknown language, thats not the gift of tongues, thats your spirit parsing, interceding on its (your) own behalf.
Praise God, He has not allowed those open to His Spirit to be deceived, calling evil good and good evil. Thank God, He reveals His doctrine to all who are willing to receive. Tongues are for a sign unto the unbeliever (Jews). Thank God, His words are simple and true, one given the gift of tongues will speak unto unbelieving Jews, Acts 2:1-8. Jews who believe in Messiah, but dont believe the Gentiles can receive the Holy Spirit. Acts 10:44-48. It's written, Isa 28:11-12; 1 Cor 14:20-22. Ex 23:12
Praise the Lord! I was baptized in the name of Jesus, and the Lord poured His Spirit into my heart, and instantly, after speaking in tongues for about 30 minutes, I felt like a fish that had been gutted -- the Lord took out all the junk, the sin, I had eating away at me, and completely washed me clean! I felt 100 pounds lighter, and knew it was the Holy Ghost power that changed me. This thing is REAL folks!! Jesus not only saved my soul, He saved my life! Thank you, Jesus!
I thank God for this sermon from Bishop Leslie!!! This is real truth being preached!!
I used to think I was saved without ever being bapized in Jesus name, and I definitely didn't believe in getting the Holy Ghost... Until one day, God began dealing with me, and changed my heart...I started listening more and more to good preaching like this...And I just got tired of myself, and it clicked "I'm not saved at all, because I haven't done anything Jesus said to do." But thank God for His mercy!
@truthofsalvation To God be the Glory! I also thank God for this sermon from Bishop Leslie and appreciate whoever posted it! This preaching is what the world needs to hear.
I, too, used to believe I was saved (without the water baptism and the Holy Ghost, speaking in tongues)...God opened my eyes (it took some time, but He did), because I couldn't stop sinning! I was honest with myself and knew I didn't have the power to stop sinning. I humbled myself and obeyed Jesus. Glory to His name.
@foreverinchrist1 ...Actually, Jesus said two elements are necessary to be saved -- water and Spirit. (St. John 3:1-7). His apostles preached the baptism in the name of Jesus, and the infilling of the Holy Ghost, with tongues, and it was demonstrated on numerous occassions throughout the Book of Acts. So, absolutely, I agree with Jesus, who is God manisfested in the flesh, according to the Bible.
@truthofsalvation You are absolutely correct -- Jesus HIMSELF said you must be born of water AND spirit in order to enter/see the Kingdom of God. And that's exactly what the apostles did throughout the Book of Acts -- Acts 2:38 says it all!!
@JesusIsMyHelp Jesus did not speak English! There's a reason we true believers are so confused and have so many different doctrines. Pastors and teachers need to learn a few basics of the Koine Greek that was used to translate the original NT! This will provide a much brighter light to understand and correctly interpret Acts 2:38 and many other hotly debated Bible verses. Email me at etb-pan-afrika@att (dot) net and I'll be glad to give u a brighter light on Acts 2:38. Thanks 4 your comments!
@truthofsalvation beautiful testimony. U can help a lot of people that's going through what u been through right now. I find so many people that don't receive the Holy Ghost after a few times and they start to make themselves believe that it's not necessary. They fight against it. But i always tell them don't give up on yourself. That's what the devil wants u to do. Just ask God from the heart. Start calling on God from the heart. God bless you real good. I'm so happy for u.
God makes us new creatures in Him through the plan of salvation and equips us with His Spirit(The Spirit of Truth) that will lead and guide us into all truth John 16:13 As it states in Romans that if we walk after Spirit we shall not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. So is that what you're trying to say or ...?
No I was simply taking about what it takes to be born again. If we could have gotten past the water and the Spirit, I would have like to shard with you the truth about the new birth. This must take place before the water and Spirit. God is Father, Word and Spirit; we must be born of God (Father, Word and Spirit). The word is first, God has begotten us by His word, as He did with the Apostles. Then The Holy Spirit (Water) and Then the Spirit, which is God (Love) this is what we must be born of.
I've misquoted the text, just a typo. Im sure I will not see hell or any plague for that. God judges the intent of the heart. A greater problem is present, you ignore what is written, (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh...)" The filth of the flesh is sin. Enough, back and forth; writing is too difficult of a venue to communication when people disagree. Understanding is limited to the readers own interpretation of what the writer is saying. Call me, let's reason. No fear.
Yes, good points, "Jesusismyhelp"...The River of Jordan, where Jesus was baptized, is WATER. And the Ethopian eunuch did ask Philip: "here is water, what doth hinder me to be baptized?"
AchreousD can you explain this for us? Are you saying Jesus is wrong about baptism being a part of salvation, which is His Gospel? Please help us understand who is right -- Jesus, or you.
In John 3:5 He says except a man be born of the water and of the Spirit he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. By you're statement Jesus is saying except a man be born of the Spirit and of the Spirit. That's an insult to the intelligence of God Almighty. Jesus said exactly what he meant. No, we don't save ourselves, we're only follow God's plan of salvation. It's like driving on the interstate. I didn't build it but I have to travel on it to get to my destination.
But I can say that he did not receive theHoly Ghost. It wasn't poured out until the day of Pentecost. So Judas did not fulfill the plan of salvation and therefore was not saved. Of course we are saved by God's doing. But even by your own admission we have to do something as well. Belief is a verb an action word. We believe God's Word and obey it by repentance, baptism in Jesus' name and the infilling of the Holy Ghost. And Jesus did not stutter nor was he slow
Mark 16:16 "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned." John 3:5 "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." These are words of Jesus. He clearly states that believing and being baptized is key to salvation. If you don't believe you are damned. If you aren't born of water and of the Spirit you can't get into the kingdom. If you're not in the kingdom you're not saved
Amen to "lovesredemption7" ...And not only did Jesus make the quote captured in Mark 16:16, but Jesus Himself (as our perfect example) was baptized in water by John the Baptist. He said doing so was necessary to fulfill ALL righteousness.
Let me ask a question... for all who say that baptism is a work and not a required part of salvation, what do you believe? How do you think someone is saved? You say we are saved by grace through faith but how? Everyone isn't automatically saved neither does everyone automatically go to heaven because of Jesus' sacrifice and conquering of death and sin. So what do you believe is the plan of salvation?
Amen to "lovesredemption7"... As Ephesians 4:5 plainly states:"One Lord, one faith, one baptism."
Jesus established only ONE way to salvation, which the Apostles preached and demonstrated. And you find out what that ONE way is by reading -- and believing -- what's in the Book of Acts.
lovesredemption7 the bible says, we are saved by grace. We baptize in water to attest to our belief in the Lord Jesus Christ who is our Savior. Symbolizing, the death, burial of the old man resurrecting to walk in the newness of the new man. Being justify by grace, sanctify in spirit and filled with the anointing and power of the Holy Ghost.
I'm not quite sure what you're saying we all know that it's by God's grace we are saved. What I asked is what do you believe the plan of salvation is? John says that Jesus died for the sins of the world. But not everyone in the world is going to heaven. Is this because God is going against His Word and only extends His grace to some? No, it's because some people choose not to accept the grace of God. So how does someone accept the grace of God? What do you believe is the plan of salvation?
Saying the we are saved by grace is like saying there's food at the grocery store. The fact that there's food at the grocery store doesn't mean you don't have to go and get it. Even if it's free. You still have to go and receive it. Jesus himself said that he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved. Peter said that we are baptized for the remission( or removal) of our sins. Titus 3:5 says "Not by works of righteousness which we have done" but it doesn't stop there. It continues...
"... but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration and the renewing of the Holy Ghost." It is obvious that Paul is talking about the baptism and infilling of the Holy Ghost as God's way of saving us. That's the key this is God's plan of salvation, it's the tools He is using to save us. Not something we decided to do on our own.
lovesredemption7, you are telling the truth. What a lot of people don't realize, is that when Paul wrote the phrase "saved by grace" in Ephesians, he was writing to saints who already had the Acts 2:38 experience. The church at Ephesus began in Acts 19. These people were already baptized in Jesus' name and had the Holy Ghost, speaking in other tongues as the Spirit of God gave utterance. You don't get salvation in Ephesians. You get it in Acts.
@Jesuscomingrealsoon ...Look in Acts 19. These were the Ephesians that the Apostle Paul was writing to in his epistle to the Ephesians. These people already obeyed Acts 2:38 first.
Saved by grace through faith means, we are saved by Christ Jesus faith through God grace. The Faith of Christ and God's grace (love) it is truly a gift. Thats how it is written not all men have faith. Yet a measure of faith is given unto every man. We are saved by what God does not by what we do. Yes, get baptized, but dont believe that is what saves you, nor makes you born again, that belief is not scriptural.
How can you continue to ignore what took place in the Book of Acts, where example after example is shown of God's plan of salvation put into practice? How can you ignore the fact that Paul was writing to saints in Ephesians, who were baptized in Jesus' name and received the Holy Ghost in Acts 19? Did you read Acts 19? Read Acts 19: 1-6. Then read Ephesians 1:1, where Paul says "to the saints which are at Ephesus"
You still haven't answered my question What did Peter mean when he said that baptism doth also now save us? Why did Jesus say he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved? Of course belief is a part of the equation but Jesus didn't say "and baptized" for nothing. He meant what he said. And if ou don't believe that baptism is a part of salvation then why do you believe we should be baptized? And as far as Judas is concerned. I cannot say for sure whether he was baptized in Jesus' Name ...
Key in on Acts 1:25...Judas was "a part of this ministry and apostleship" but he transgressed. Let Judas also be an example that there is no such thing as "once saved, always saved."
Amen Amen Great preaching. hard to find in these churches today.

MrDwaynedog911 1 year ago
@Jesuscomingrealsoon ...You are flat wrong. The Apostles learned everything from Jesus Himself. There are Scriptures which you have already been presented with that clearly show that. So, once again, the Apostles did exactly what Jesus taught them. You must exercise faith in God's word and be obedient to it.

@Jesuscomingrealsoon AMEN TO THAT! I just don't understand why people fight so hard against God's word when it's right there in their face. The Jews, Gentiles and Samaritans were saved the same way. @truthofsalvation Christ was without sin so he couldn't have been baptized for remission of sin. The Bible said, he was baptize to fulfil all righteousness.

@Jesuscomingrealsoon 2 Corinthians 5:21 he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
MrDwaynedog911 1 year ago
@Jesuscomingrealsoon ... Jesus was our perfect example. When He said to John that it behooves us to fulfill ALL righteousness, He meant WATER (which John represented with the water baptism unto repentance) AND SPIRIT, which Jesus embodied, and the Holy Ghost sat on Jesus in the visible form of a dove.
GodsGrace333 1 year ago
@Jesuscomingrealsoon ... Exactly, so water baptism, which Jesus submitted Himself to at the River of Jordan, was one part of the fulfillment of ALL righteousness! The other part, as Jesus told Nicodemus, is the SPIRIT (which is the Holy Ghost, speaking in other tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance.)

Race4Holiness 1 year ago
@Race4Holiness no you can receive the HOLY SPIRT with out getting baptized BUT in the same vers you got baptized as soon as they got the HOLY SPIRT they got baptized "RIGHT" dont forget that part !!!Acts 10 48 just 1 more ver why you stop ???
MrDwaynedog911 1 year ago 2
@MrDwaynedog911 There r many points of truths in all Holy Scripture. The believing Jews did not believe that Samaritans/Gentiles could be saved. God gave them undeniable proof as you know. Water baptism is very important, but that was not the main point of my discussion. You & I have no disagreements as to the vital importance of water baptism. Any of us who have truly died to our former life (as Yeshua did) & who have truly risen from the dead (as Yeshua did) have no problem in being baptized.

Race4Holiness 1 year ago
@Race4Holiness PSSST!! hate to tell ya been baptized is not ONLY for the ones who have the Holy Ghost READ acts 8 ver 12-17 they where baptized ONLY and did NOT received the Holy Ghost till peter laid hands on them !!!been baptized is for the remission of sin ! in LUKE 24 ver 45 JESUS opened there understanding then told them what to do,how, where, and who to start with !LUKE 24 ver 46-48!!and this WAS fulfilled in act 2:38 !!
MrDwaynedog911 1 year ago

MrDwaynedog911 1 year ago

Race4Holiness 1 year ago
@MrDwaynedog911 Although Jesus opened their eyes (understanding on many things, most still didn't understand the complete redemption picture. Most still didn't believe anyone but Jews would be saved and believed that God was going to destroy their enemies and set up the kingdom of David in their day. However, God was to first only start at Jerusalem, then to Samaria, and then to others. We in our day have been blessed and have no excuse for INCOMPLETE understanding. Just read the word 4yourself!
Race4Holiness 1 year ago

MrDwaynedog911 1 year ago
@MrDwaynedog911 Jesus used parables too! But let's use Hebrew 2:17 since u didn't "catch" my parable. Jesus made reconciliation FOR the sins of the people. It's obvious the sins came first and then the reconciliation! In Acts 2:38 they were baptized FOR the remission of sins. The remission came first (Upon repenting) & then they were baptized (to show that they had the remission of sins already)! See Acts 2:19 if that will help u "catch" it. I'm at your disposal to help u in any way. Praise God!

! did they
MrDwaynedog911 1 year ago
Race4Holiness 1 year ago
@Race4Holiness im not sure what you mean about leave the whole bible ?
your the one who cant see repent be baptized in Jesus name and reciveing the Holy Ghost ok how about this do what Philip preached in acts 8 35-38 or how about acts 16 30-33 ! !!!
MrDwaynedog911 1 year ago
@MrDwaynedog911 You r having problems just reading my simple writings! I wrote "believing" not "leaving". Philip in Acts 8 merely declared what all true Bible Apostles received from the word---"Baptism doesn't count for anything unless u truly repent and truly believe!" You do not believe Acts 10:43-47 which clearly states that the gentiles believed the word and received the Holy Ghost without being baptized in water! How you cannot see this is amazing! You are merely rejecting God's word!!!
Race4Holiness 1 year ago

MrDwaynedog911 1 year ago
@MrDwaynedog911 I assume that u have read Acts 10:44, which plainly declares: "While Peter yet spoke these words, the Holy Ghost fell on them who heard the word". Just answer a plain "yes" or "no". Do you believe this verse?
Race4Holiness 1 year ago
Race4Holiness 1 year ago

The video by Antoine Taylor saying he is filled with the Holy Ghost. con't
Jesuscomingrealsoon 1 year ago

Jesuscomingrealsoon 1 year ago

Thanks!

AchreousD 2 years ago

@truthofsalvation My friend are you saying that in order to be saved we have to be baptized in the name of Jesus?
foreverinchrist1 1 year ago
@foreverinchrist1 ...Actually, Jesus said two elements are necessary to be saved -- water and Spirit. (St. John 3:1-7). His apostles preached the baptism in the name of Jesus, and the infilling of the Holy Ghost, with tongues, and it was demonstrated on numerous occassions throughout the Book of Acts. So, absolutely, I agree with Jesus, who is God manisfested in the flesh, according to the Bible.
truthofsalvation 1 year ago
@truthofsalvation You are absolutely correct -- Jesus HIMSELF said you must be born of water AND spirit in order to enter/see the Kingdom of God. And that's exactly what the apostles did throughout the Book of Acts -- Acts 2:38 says it all!!

@JesusIsMyHelp Jesus did not speak English! There's a reason we true believers are so confused and have so many different doctrines. God makes us new creatures in Him through the plan of salvation and equips us with His Spirit(The Spirit of Truth) that will lead and guide us into all truth John 16:13 As it states in Romans that if we walk after Spirit we shall not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. So is that what you're trying to say or ...?
lovesredemption7 2 years ago
No I was simply taking about what it takes to be born again. If we could have gotten past the water and the Spirit, I would have like to shard with you the truth about the new birth. This must take place before the water and Spirit. God is Father, Word and Spirit; we must be born of God (Father, Word and Spirit). The word is first, God has begotten us by His word, as He did with the Apostles. Then The Holy Spirit (Water) and Then the Spirit, which is God (Love) this is what we must be born of.
AchreousD 2 years ago

GodsGrace333 2 years ago
In John 3:5 He says except a man be born of the water and of the Spirit he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. By you're statement Jesus is saying except a man be born of the Spirit and of the Spirit. That's an insult to the intelligence of God Almighty. Jesus said exactly what he meant. No, we don't save ourselves, we're only follow God's plan of salvation. It's like driving on the interstate. I didn't build it but I have to travel on it to get to my destination.
lovesredemption7 2 years ago
But I can say that he did not receive theHoly Ghost. It wasn't poured out until the day of Pentecost. So Judas did not fulfill the plan of salvation and therefore was not saved. Of course we are saved by God's doing. But even by your own admission we have to do something as well. Belief is a verb an action word. We believe God's Word and obey it by repentance, baptism in Jesus' name and the infilling of the Holy Ghost. And Jesus did not stutter nor was he slow
lovesredemption7 2 years ago
Mark 16:16 "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned." John 3:5 "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." These are words of Jesus. He clearly states that believing and being baptized is key to salvation. If you don't believe you are damned. If you aren't born of water and of the Spirit you can't get into the kingdom. If you're not in the kingdom you're not saved
lovesredemption7 2 years ago
Amen to "lovesredemption7" ...And not only did Jesus make the quote captured in Mark 16:16, but Jesus Himself (as our perfect example) was baptized in water by John the Baptist. He said doing so was necessary to fulfill ALL righteousness.

GodsGrace333 2 years ago
Let me ask a question... for all who say that baptism is a work and not a required part of salvation, what do you believe? How do you think someone is saved? You say we are saved by grace through faith but how? Everyone isn't automatically saved neither does everyone automatically go to heaven because of Jesus' sacrifice and conquering of death and sin. So what do you believe is the plan of salvation?
lovesredemption7 2 years ago 4
Amen to "lovesredemption7"... As Ephesians 4:5 plainly states:"One Lord, one faith, one baptism."
Jesus established only ONE way to salvation, which the Apostles preached and demonstrated. And you find out what that ONE way is by reading -- and believing -- what's in the Book of Acts.
JesusIsMyHelp 2 years ago
lovesredemption7 the bible says, we are saved by grace.
Jesuscomingrealsoon 2 years ago
I'm not quite sure what you're saying we all know that it's by God's grace we are saved. What I asked is what do you believe the plan of salvation is? John says that Jesus died for the sins of the world. But not everyone in the world is going to heaven. Is this because God is going against His Word and only extends His grace to some? No, it's because some people choose not to accept the grace of God. So how does someone accept the grace of God? What do you believe is the plan of salvation?
lovesredemption7 2 years ago
Saying the we are saved by grace is like saying there's food at the grocery store. The fact that there's food at the grocery store doesn't mean you don't have to go and get it. Even if it's free. You still have to go and receive it. Jesus himself said that he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved. Peter said that we are baptized for the remission( or removal) of our sins. Titus 3:5 says "Not by works of righteousness which we have done" but it doesn't stop there. It continues...
lovesredemption7 2 years ago
"... but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration and the renewing of the Holy Ghost." It is obvious that Paul is talking about the baptism and infilling of the Holy Ghost as God's way of saving us. That's the key this is God's plan of salvation, it's the tools He is using to save us. Not something we decided to do on our own.
lovesredemption7 2 years ago
lovesredemption7, you are telling the truth.
JesusIsMyHelp 2 years ago
@Jesuscomingrealsoon ...Look in Acts 19. These were the Ephesians that the Apostle Paul was writing to in his epistle to the Ephesians. These people already obeyed Acts 2:38 first.
JesusIsMyHelp 2 years ago 2
Saved by grace through faith means, we are saved by Christ Jesus faith through God grace. The Faith of Christ and God's grace (love) it is truly a gift. Thats how it is written not all men have faith. Yet a measure of faith is given unto every man. We are saved by what God does not by what we do. Yes, get baptized, but dont believe that is what saves you, nor makes you born again, that belief is not scriptural.
AchreousD 2 years ago
How can you continue to ignore what took place in the Book of Acts, where example after example is shown of God's plan of salvation put into practice? How can you ignore the fact that Paul was writing to saints in Ephesians, who were baptized in Jesus' name and received the Holy Ghost in Acts 19? Did you read Acts 19? Read Acts 19: 1-6. Then read Ephesians 1:1, where Paul says "to the saints which are at Ephesus"
JesusIsMyHelp 2 years ago
You still haven't answered my question What did Peter mean when he said that baptism doth also now save us? Why did Jesus say he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved? Of course belief is a part of the equation but Jesus didn't say "and baptized" for nothing. He meant what he said. And if ou don't believe that baptism is a part of salvation then why do you believe we should be baptized? And as far as Judas is concerned. I cannot say for sure whether he was baptized in Jesus' Name ...
lovesredemption7 2 years ago
Key in on Acts 1:25...Judas was "a part of this ministry and apostleship" but he transgressed. Let Judas also be an example that there is no such thing as "once saved, always saved."
