The Chinese occupation of Tibetan soil is an absolute travesty. Tenzin Gyatso deserves to return to his people as a subject to no foreign authority, all of them subjects to no authority but their own. Tibet is an independent culture all its own and no one has a right to obstruct their sovereignty.

The difference in media is that, in the west, the media is independent of the government. In China it is directly controlled. We have things like ITV, channel 4, sky just for a few examples. All these are NOT run by western governments. You then have media is traditionally neutral countries reporting about Chinese problems and media in liberal countries also reporting the same things. These media condemmed the UK and USA in Iraq. You think these are biassed too?

CCTV 4 is for broadcast out side of China. It is broadcast in Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan and even in the US on DirecTV Satellite channel 454. It is not available in mainland China thanks to censorship and even if it was most Chinese would not understand it as it is in Mandarin. Nice try Commies!

Yeah maybe the government TECHNICALLY did report on it. However, the announcer referred to the protests as "destructive activities" (pohuai huodong) and not as protests. They also apparently only interviewed pro-China (and in one case anti-Tibet) onlookers. The man at 3:10 is saying that the pro-Tibet independence objective will not be successful and that Chinese people are united. Go China he says. So yes, china reported on it but its just as slanted as the USAs rendering of the situation.

well, it is true that the "protests" are doing pohuai huodong, because they are trying to stop the torch from passing..and obviously that is PUHUA a very important international eventI!!!.....and of course they will only interview PRO-CHINA cuz all chinese want a unified country. And, I do believe a unified country is what every country seeks in the world.

The BBC is also biased for not complying with international regulations on legal standard names because it never uses the correct name, "Persian Gulf," in its reports. What it does is that it vandalizes a historical name, of which is a part of the Persian heritage. This is not only an insult to my country. But, it's also an insult to journalism as a whole, since it promotes inaccuracy and dishonesty, not to mention an insult to historical/geographical truth!

Well if u all support Independence for Tibet then go for it ,start up an organised Tibetian freedom fighters hahaha and fight for a "free Tibet" but while u USA in USA u can start join the native American movements and supply them with arms 1st , free them from white dictators 1st in Canada,Australia,Guam,USA and so on then come to Tibet and fight us ,we welcome u all.

CNN and BBC might have "mistaken" "Maoist"Nepal for Tibet;however, it is Not an error "to remove armed Han police from pictures", which was on CCTV.

The Chinese occupation of Tibetan soil is an absolute travesty. Tenzin Gyatso deserves to return to his people as a subject to no foreign authority, all of them subjects to no authority but their own. Tibet is an independent culture all its own and no one has a right to obstruct their sovereignty.
I have no problems with this video asides from the common Chinese view of Tibet.

i actually like bbc, i think that its quite fair, they stated their opinion and were open to chalenges and never took a solid position against us, they were fair and objectibve, deducting what they can from the evidence they had, and presented the other side of the story which had nearly the same amount of news time. cnn and fox on the other hand has been known to lie and quote mind (like in the case of iranian president ahmadimijhad) to push for politcial adgendas and spew shameless propganda

The difference in media is that, in the west, the media is independent of the government. In China it is directly controlled. We have things like ITV, channel 4, sky just for a few examples. All these are NOT run by western governments. You then have media is traditionally neutral countries reporting about Chinese problems and media in liberal countries also reporting the same things. These media condemmed the UK and USA in Iraq. You think these are biassed too?

If someone gave you money to do something does that mean you are not independent? I know perfectly well what the media can do. That doesn't change the fact that the media and government are indepedent. Also, what you say also back my point that western government has less control over the media than the Chinese government.

I can go out and kill someone. I can choose what I want to do. Therefore I am independent. No one directly controls me. i may suffer consequences for my actions but I can still make those actions. You are the blind one. You seem to believe our lives are hopeless and that governments are just peppets of the media. Seriously, learn about life.
