I have also seen the Red Arrow and they are completely different with the smaller planes, but also fantastic. But we also have Russian Knights, I really want to see them irl, but unfortunately they have no passing Sweden for a long time. So, if I want to see them I have to go to Moscow. Tragic as they lost their commander in chief of the group 2009th.

I have seen the Blue Angels irl at Tullinge airfield south of Stockholm, Sweden in the late 1990s. They're great of course but they are taking great risks in these tight formations. But I got an autograph on a Blue Angels T-shirt, unfortunately is that autograph almost gone after a few washes and I have a pin with a plane. :-)

@petonut97 The Red Arrows are a fantastic flying team. My problem with them that the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds do not have is that the BAE Hawk is a very light plane. That makes it so that they can not have as tight of formations. If you watch the Red Arrows in flight, the planes are wavering in the air. That is noticeably visible from the ground. Don't get me wrong I am not trashing them. That's just my opinion but then again I am an American and its natural for one to like their team more.

@billyslo87 I would just say that one of the things that makes the red arrows so impressive to look at is using 9 planes, as the captain of the reds once said, the more planes you use the harder it gets because if one pilot moves out of position a little and the next has to move a little more to compensate, by the time you get to the last guy on your wing youve had a collision.

But big respect to all these formation display teams, as you say, your gonna have a soft spot for your country!

you cant compare the blue angels to the red arrows, they do two totally different types of display, for shock and awe the blue angels have it, but for finesse and precision the red arrows cant be beaten, search "dangermen, red arrows pt6" a programme made about the red arrows tour of n-america in 2008, see what the blue angels themselves had to say about the red arrows, i also spoke to an F22 pilot at RIAT2010, who said the reds were the best formation pilots he had ever seen

@TheBratsfather The Red Arrows like having more aircraft, and having more complex formations and maintaining these formations through barrel rolls and loops, then splitting up for a very exciting 2nd half. They never fail to impress. I still think the Blues make a great show, but the red Arrows are more daring, so I consider them the best.

They should get rid of the super hi-tech accessories, and do more shock and awe stuff. When I see them do something like the Gypo Break or the Rollback, then ill be impressed :)
