Surround and drowned.... thats the first thing that came to mind when the video started, and sure as shit I scroll down and its the first comment. lmao.
and where are the aerials? my dept. would have had atleast one stick up with master stream and 2 tower ladders mutual aid to that with master streams running and a hell of a lot of hose lines on that.
when i was 12 i did this by accident to a abandon house that me and my boyz broke into. we lit fires to see and didnt put one out. you'll be amazed how quickly fire spreads. therefor i got 3 felonys and the judge sent me to a mental hospital smh dont play wit fire kids
@MSkudlarczyk2008 u ever seen fire grow before? it can go from a little flame from a candle to this in the matter of 4 minutes, ive had a fire in my friends house that went from a dropped match to fully involving the house in the time i had to get 500 yards up the road, get our engine and get it back down to the house
Pretty good placement of the hose streams, a lot of times guys aim at the flames at the top of the structure and end up throwing water on the ground on the other side! Aim low!
@rmls34 I wouldn't even make entry to begin with. We don't have too many newer homes in my city, but from what I've seen they have tho POS floors with cheap support beams that fail quickly.
If this wasn't Clayton county then this house might have had a chance. I've been to Clayton, (I live in New Castle, DE), and must houses are in the rural area.
There trying to build up big communities, but some people have bought huge aches of land to place houses like this on them. Unfortunately, the nearest fire department is 7-8 minutes down the road.
That was then though, things have changed now though.
Save the garage door!, oh and the front door to! Don't forget the front door!.
Yeah ... what are we saving again? Even if your not a firefight its pretty obvious that house is gone. No ladder, or anyone is going to save that house, let it burn, sweep up the ashes, let the insurance do its job, and start over. Sad truth, but gotta move though the tough times.
i agree. Sometimes you just gotta let er burn but with an attempt (need not be a larger attempt) to extinguish and keep under control. especially for onlookers to help keep up community support towards the FD. Atleast thats how our dept. does it. Many citizens dont understand why the FD doesnt fight the good fight even though it is quite obvious!
Did you save the basement? J/K! Yeah a tower wouldn't have changed the end result... plus I didn't see any exposures. I could be wrong, but it looks like it's too late to matter.
@lordvader665 look at the uploaders comments "only 1/4 house standing and in a non-hydrant area" no ladder would have done any differance to this as they need hydrants and there aint any hydrants there
alot of places dont have that luxery. Most volunteer depts just dont have the means to justify needing a truck. While they are nice to have they are just not that practicle for volly stations
guys take offense to being called volunteers..................everyone wants to be a paid man. The means are there dont be fooled..........the first state is not just a saying, they ask! they get!
This structure is obviously not going to be salvaged, there are no exposures, everything inside that is not burnt or damaged by smoke or water is not going to be recovered. This is were you just let it burn. There are no exposures, you just have to tell the owners there is nothing that can be done, salvaged and thats the facts.
lol I wasn't even looking at that until you mentioned it haha. they have it made if they are gonna throw a triple layer or a flat load back on those trucks haha
Looks like a rural area so even if the call was recieved when the fire was in the initial stages by the time crews arived on scean the fire would be pretty big
I looked up the Clayton Fire Department, they have pretty nice stuff. To counter what Lindstrom says about the department not having a ladder truck, it's not true. They have a very nice 2007 75' ALF. But why use it when the house is mostly gone anyway?
There is a truck on scene, briefly shown on video, but due to heavy fire and almost total lost, only 1/4 house standing and in a non-hydrant area, the truck was not put in service
Well Jmed and Ryan who all of a sudden made you guys fire fighting experts. When a structure is that well involved it is a "looser " Truck or elevated stream would be nice but when you dont have a truck and a lot of places don't you do the best you can. You ain't saving it anyway. Don't knock them when you don't have the facts.
damn thats a big fire
