You know what hilarious about this video? You know how to program all of this in Ajax which I openly admit I could never do but yet don't know how to get rid of malware ;-)
Also the fact that you're using XP with IE6 and a custom IE speech plugin means that this would only ever work on a Windows OS XP and after and only if the end user had that plugin installed. This wouldn't work on any other or previous windows OS due to this limitation. Standard MS practise = assume everything is Windows.
ive used the internet explorer's speech plugin that provides a similar api functonality as that of the one that apps in xp use.i suggest checking out more cross browser options at http://www.google.com/Top/Computers/Speech_Technology/Speech_Synthesis/
This demo has potential but could come a long long way!
