Layne was not clean ever after the summer of -93. it was Mike Mcready who met Baker at rehab, they were clean and Mike thought it would be an inspiration to get clean for Layne, if he played with sober musicians, Barrett and Skerik were clean too. Lanegan was on and off H too. Johnny lived with Layne, trying to help his in his private life too, but it did not work, as we all sadly know. Baker relapsed too, and sadly died before Layne. Mike relapsed in 2000, but has now been clean for 10 years.

Mike McCready is one of my favorite guitarists ever and i started listening to Mad Season cuz of him. I've been listening to this album for a while now and just found this video. Laynes vocals have been so captivating and awe inspiring to me that i totally forgot that Mike was in this band until i saw him in this video. Such an inspiring, eclectic musical phenomenon this band was. I don't wish there could have been more Mad Season. Like a lot of you, I'm just so greatful we got this.
