You are so right......got mixed up with another video of mine. Reference to Hubble has been removed. Thank You. Audio level low and I am not sure why. May have to change the music. Thanks again.
Dvorak was enamoured of the Negro spiritual "Goin' Home" which is the foundation of the New World Symphony. He became an American citizen and reflected his new home in his glorius music. The video that accompanies the symphony is magnificent! A great work of artistic expression and the folks who put this together are artists in their own right. Bravo!
@whitepine nice montage but few if any are Hubble images... of course, one of the best pieces of music ever written.. I wish the audio level was higher..
Does Anybody Know The Real Name Of This Song?,I Forgot What It Is Called And My Band Teacher Told The Class But I Think It Is Something About "Going Home" I Didn't Understand Right....
This movement of the New World Symphony is the tune used in "Going Home". Dvorak came first, though I actually heard Celtic Woman sing "Going Home" before I learned it was Dvorak, you're not alone!
So yes, there is a piece based off this called "Going Home".
Smetana is regarded as the best from The Czech Republic but Dvorak certainly states his case with this composition. Anyway, I've never cared for the term 'the best'. I just enjoy what other people contribute to humanity :)
Ummm... I think all of you need to understand that Dvoraks symphonies 8 and 9 arent subtitled "from the new world" because he is writing about our Planet and Nature. The new world refers to north america, and how music should derive from other places such as europe. "The new world" was the nickname for the americas in the age of exploration. He wrote this symphony in New York, and the themes borrow from native american music.
@2cello I agree, but many other people have many other opinions. I like to think that Dvorak was more in-depth about his meaning of New World, as I would be, and the first thing this music tells me is "baby" as in newborn child. This child is experiencing a "New World" and the sheer beauty of this piece could represent the most beautiful of all, new life (or at least in my opinion). I hear the oboe at the beginning solo as being the voice of the parent holding his child for the first time.
makes me cry when I listen to this music a read the positive comments about Dvořák's ceation. He's one of the biggest men in our musical history and it makes me damn proud to be Czech! :)
Whitepine, this video is as breathtaking and fascinating as the last one you posted on the universe! It has a humbling effect on the viewer to watch it and realize just where we stand as people in this great universe of ours.
Each picture is stunning and staggers the imagination. The music compliments this video beautifully!!! I am so happy you are on You Tube!!!!! Thank you.....LISA
Whitepine has done it again! The music is very beautiful as almost all music Dvorak wrote was to evoke a sense of appreciation for the beauty of nature; his music was rooted in his motherland's folklore and beautiful countryside. I just think that if I ever had a choice, I would have loved to be whitepine's next door neighbor! These people are true angels. All right America, do you want to be proud again? Be proud that you have people like whitepine live here. Thanks for uploading this video ...
Thanks a lot for this powerful music and beautiful journey through the solar system and flight views of our Earth, this strange planet that holds water.., air.., and so many beautiful life forms on board!

Cada que escucho esta sinfonia la situo en mi mente con la Conquista de America. Bueno, para los europeos America significaba el Nuevo Mundo.

I was incorrect. Dvorak never became an American citizen. Age and mind are creating again. Sorry. Mea culpa.

Dvorak was from Europe. he became a naturalized American citizen.
music784151 6 months ago
@music784151 I don't think he became American citizen. He returned to his homeland after three years and loved his country.
