Hey there everyone. I have been playing the drums for almsot a year now and I just picked up the piano. I have some songs under my belt, but none that require two hands moving simotaneously. Anyone have any tips on how to work on this? I can play the right hand and the left hand alone great, but when I try and mesh it together, my left hand just kinda stops/ looses pace/ or just F**ks up. Thanks. And BTW, awesome video.
@ChiefBigPaw same here, i just started piano recently. what i do... well, my first two-handed song was Saria's Song, also from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and what i did was memorize both hands with their notes alone and put them together. then, i play verry... VERY, very slowly. when it sounds right, i play it again at least 5 times for good measure, then go faster and faster until it's at the correct speed and do the same thing for the rest of the song
i discipline myself harshly in order to practice and get it perfect lol. here's my special rule:
i cant go to bed, sleep, check my phone, go on facebook, get a drink/food or ANYTHING UNTIL i get a certain part right at least 2-3 times in a row. if i screw up, i have to start over. if i make a slight mistake (in timing), i start over. if i'm on my 3rd time playing it, and i screw it up, i gotta play it 3 tims again.
Thanks for the video! I tried learned piano from my mom when I was 6, but it got to... Frustrating. Then a year ago I picked up guitar and loved it. And... I tried picking this song out on piano and oddly, I got the general not progression right. Just not in the right key. Thanks again for the video!
DUDE... ive bene like practicing like millions a times but i cant seem to get one part right... thats the part when .. ur like halfway part 2... it doesnt get explained when ur playing BOTH hands so i dont know when i need to hit the notes with my left hand when im hitting notes with my right hand... sucks cause i wanna learn from this movie cause it sounds spotless like its supposed to be.. dont wanna have a rip off XD
Wow, thank you very much for this! I'm just learning the piano, but this tutorial makes it so nice and simple. I'm still only learning the first part, but I'm improving quickly. Thank you so so much!!
But, I have one, tiny, small complaint. It would be alot easier to learn if you like...had the letters. Because I'm having trouble distinguishing the keys. :P
I finally perfected this song...
