It's too sad that they have huge fan base only in Britain not in the whole world...so they could come in other countries ...like croatia (if anybody heard of this country lol,it was Yugoslavia before with Serbia,Bosnia...)
One of their best......long may magnum continue to make music and they've been going a while now. I had the honour to meet them and I did an interview for my student magazine. I was so nervous but they were so down to earth. I have some lovely pictures taken with them. They took the p out of my laugh which sounded like Sid James in full Sid James mode. They signed the back of my denim jacket which I still have now. Then I went on my way, in full awe!
Ive been brought up on Magnum they have been a massive part of my life and i will keep thier memory alive its a pity they dont get the credit they so deserve
Magnum... a step above the rest. Such a wonderful band. And of course, Tony Clarkin. Great guitarplayer, even better songwriter. His wonderful, imaginative lyrics are what takes Magnum to another level.
I only saw Magnum recently at Southampton and loved them.I haven't taken too much notice of them before;if they were on the radio I'd turn it up but no more than that.I've now just started to buy their stuff.I'm annoyed now that I missed out on them at their peak.Brilliant stuff,so underrated it's criminal!!
Oh the memories of Reading in 1987 .. The GREATEST band EVER ... So underrated. Bob's Vocals are exceptional and Tony's Lyrics and Guitar are awesome. Even all these later I can't help smiling at the great nights listening to them.
Always have a Magnum album on my mp3 player at all times ...
I wish the UK would wake up and embrace music like this. We're a nation infested with crap pop bands and rappers. I look beyond the shite that floats )Gaga, Beyonce Take That etc) and dig down to the gems (Magnum)
Bob walked right next to me at the gig and I thought - either them british are too short or us czech are way too tall. He seemed so tiny yet when he walked on stage he made everest wet itself. What a guy
Tony Clarkin has to be the most underrated guitarist and especially songwriter of recent years. He really knows how to write a bloody good catchy rock song. These guys should have been household names in the 80's and 90's really.....
Few things need to be said here : 1°) good song and good songwriting. 2°) Magnum should have won the prize in the 80's : but tough luck, they did not win. 3°) too proggy for some people, too AOR for others. 4°) nowadays, Tony Clarkin looks like Kerry King, amazing !!
@quagnum lol... of course they are, i just feel their best period was the first 5 or 6 albums. Must have seen them 20 times since 1983. last time 2004. their new stuff is great though.
Imagine how i'm feeling now, i've just discovered them. Incredible, amazing band. I always liked hard rock and heavy and now i think this band is one of the best. Thank you Magnum.
I'm 30 and a new fan. I been listening to them for a few months now and It's freaking awesome stuff. I started with don't wake the Lion and it's been all good from there!
@Highlander01, Same for me, Queen and Magnum are rock royalty. I saw Magnum in 2009, and they did not dissapoint, the atmosphere they create is amazing. Can't wait for 'the Visitation'.......
I'm seeing Magnum live for the first time, 14th April, 2011. Can't wait! Magnum are amazing, lyrically, musically, vocally. For me, they are the next best thing to Queen.
pretty sure it was on" a story tellers night" was the name of the cd have on cd somewhere in my collection saw them for wings of heaven tour at hammersmith back in the 80's they sold out both shows.
Found them faaaaar too late[early 90's] but I've been trailing em ever since. Some of my best memories involve Magnum.I just hope they carry on doing what they do so WELL.
I've been listening to Magnum for about 8 years now (I'm 26) and I can honestly say I've never heard of such a diverse, talented & magical band (only bettered by Queen in my opinion). Magnum are wonderful and deserve so much more credit in the music business.
my 2nd fav Magnum track ("need a lot of love" is no 1") saw the guys halloween nite 2009 , W/hampton , still as good as when I 1st saw them about 20 years ago in belfast , 1 of the few bands that were brave enough to visit this part of the world during those dark troubled days that we seem to have put behind us now . May they continue to rock for many years to come !
@kingzonga don't think so , it was at the Ulster Hall in Belfast , long time ago now , 1 of the first good rock gigs I went to (was only about 17 @ the time , was just excited to see a proper "big" rock band in my hometown then !)
these guys were not just good in the studio but amasing live saw them in brighton England without knowing anything about themand was blown away.God that cant be 25 years ago can it??
f**k me........this takes me back.......a happier time alround really....the just don't cut tracks like this anymore. Just don't understand why this band never made it really big, seen them scores of times and never disappointed, live they were only second to the Stones (and I've seen them all....) Still producing great tracks...
Sheer class from one of the UKs best ever bands - both live and in the studio - Magnum are and always have been awesome! Still play all their albums on a regular basis and I have some great memories of seeing these guys live
Barry James on Radio Caroline, plays Magnum on his Friday show. He totally supports home grown bands, such like Runrig, Thunder, Dare, King Crimson, The Storys to name but a few.

i love this band so much, I've got them on LP(which for a 15yr old is pretty unusual! Lol) But my parents were the lucky ones, they saw magnum live at the tiv. I live right by the tiv but they don't have an under 18's rock night so I guess that's one more thing I miss out on.
It was recorded in december 1992 at the Birmingham Town Hall. Has been released on DVD a few times, under the name A Winter's Tale or Live In Birmingham.
One of my favourite bands of all time. Great songs, ballads, rock, pop, etc. Saw them several times. I still remember Bob saying "..this is, and always will be, our song...",and they then played Soldier of the Line. Guess somebody covered it and they were making a point.

i need some help, what is the name of the record that they sing''i said never gonna give you up, ohhh never gonna make you cry, never gonna give you up, ohh never gonna say goodbye.... talk about love'' if i'm not mistaken is magnum that sing that song? hehe
Magnum played hammersmith in the 80's, was the first gig i ever went to! couldnt have been older than about 8 or 9! Had this albums poster on my wall. Ohh the memories
What a fantastic version of one of the all-time best rock songs. I just wish the vid didn't have the text at the bottom of the screen, otherwise it'd be perfect. Thanks for posting this!

Hey!
The name of the song you're askin' is "Start Talking Love". It was released on the "Wings Of Heaven" album, back in 1988.
Cheers!

I'm someone else who's first ever live concert was Magnum in the early 1990's at the UEA in Norwich - was probably about 13 or so at the time..
Totally under rated band.. but still awesome and some good memories of the other times I've seen them live.

Magnum are such a great underrated band. This song is as good as any hard rock song delivered in the 80's. Great stuff, great clip.

What a fantastic version of one of the all-time best rock songs. I just wish the vid didn't have the text at the bottom of the screen, otherwise it'd be perfect. Thanks for posting this!
