Pretty sure he didn't say the stats were meaningless, just that the popular methods of projection are not taking into account certain factors he considers important. Nothing wrong with that criticism, stats lovers.

Funny how when people don't agree with what statistics say, the stats are meaningless and flawed.
I'm sure if all these projections had the Angels winning all 162 games you'd be going on about how great they are instead.
